Funny seeing Knipex and Harbor Freight right next to each other, the two ends of the spectrum
And the buy knipex an from harbor freight. Lol
@@dillard715 icon!
@@cristipielea yes sir!!! Lol
Did you pronounce the "K" ?
Where else are they gonna get ideas for their next Icon release?
Knipex makes great stuff, those ring terminal crimpers and their Cobra pliers have held up in a industrial setting.
Mr Clay you are living the dream going around seeing new tools all the time. Have a good one
Thanks for sharing. Always nice to have quality wire tools for tight areas. Those look too of the line and with a name of knipex can’t go wrong
Clay thank you for all the hard work and long hours you put in to your videos just to show us new tools. 🔧🔧🔧🔧
Thank you
Awesome! Love Knipex.
Love their stuff. I have a really old set of snap ring pliers that say "Made in West Germany" on them.
Thank you for sharing !
Knipex rules ,,, THANKS KOON TRUCKING !!!!!
Hello again Clay and Knipex Crew
Thank you for another Great Video 👍 I think, your putting out more videos with a shorter view time, you get straight to the point. Thank you 😊
I love Knipex 🎉
Looks well designed.
Thanks for sharing clay
You know Mr. Koon is having a ball, Sema is Man's Disney World!
That twister looks awesome
Can't go wrong with Knipex
Knipex super cool
Have one of these Knipex automatic stripper. After a month bought a decent Weidmuller stripper to replace it.
Knipex indeed makes awesome wire strippers and crimpers, I wish Knipex made some crimpers for the Deutsch connectors.
Yup Knipex made a wise decision when the got that wire stripper from jokari
I've seen these types of tools 100 times over, nothing will ever beat your experience and the know how to just use one tool. JS
Good video
Dang! Buying!!!
arent they in the Chicago burbs? SK tools was there, Klein IS there, aaand so on...
Some of the best tools on the planet
I have a set, can attest, they work great.
I use to watch this channel how did I forget about it 🙄 I miss my tools I collected since the late 90s it was all stolen during covid now I'm starting over very expensive and slow process. Ur videos help
Wow, your whole collection is gone !?
That is worse than losing your house !
If you lose your home you can always take your tools, make more money, and get another home, but without tools it's kinda hard to make any money ! I feel for you man, that's heart breaking.
@@glennjames7107 Started buying stuff in the 90s when I was a teen it's mostly regular stuff swap meets garage clean outs not alot of tool truck stuff I couldn't afford I just couldn't see my self owing thousands on tools paying weekly just wasn't for me Lol im more of a junk yard back road mechanic I worked in a few shops for short amounts of time and body shops I just hated being in a shop all day I like being independent doing what I want when I want. But it's all gone now had them all in storage at a friend's shop next state over then one day he called said mine and his stuff were stolen over a weekend so that's it I had two boxes full
Darn it, Clay, I JUST ordered the Felo wire strippers from KC Tool and a day later, you show me these!! This is how I’m going to end up with a Mr. Big and a Mac Titan box next to each other 🤣🤣
Haha it happens!
Jokari, which is an electrician tool company from Germany , makes a bunch of different versions of that style auto stripper styles. The knipex are just rebadged Jokari. Most of the German pliers companies have those. VBS and NWS have that style. In Japan Fujiya has those as well.
I wish knipex made regular stake ons. The ratcheting ones are great for guys that work on a bench. But I can’t fit them on the inside of a lot of stuff I work on
I’ve had those strippers for a few years. They’re the bomb. At my last job I used them all the time doing fire truck and ambulance wiring. They have no problem with gxl wire, even up to 10 awg.
Great i bought a auto stripper 25 years ago they work great but i can't find them know
Knipex will sell you a brand new pair!
Believe me, the best strippers in Las Vegas weren't at the 2022 SEMA Show.
Haha well these won’t get you in any trouble or keep wanting your cash
Theres lots of manufacturers who make that style wire stripper. and you can spend half what the knipex cost and still get an excellant tool.
Great video and tool. I'd like to see a better video from one of the tool shows with Extreme Tools tool chest.
Ive never seen Extreme at any of the tool shows
Those knipex strippers are great but mine were broke and ended up getting a Blue point replacement temporarily. I like the BP better and its a bit cheaper. The interchangeable and self adjusting crimpers are something else though
"LIKE" button torqued to manufacturer's recommended specification. "CLICK"
So how much are those hundred dollar wire strippers?
Knipex is top end for a LOT of stuff, but I'm sketchy on that wire stripper. Seen and used the the same design and it's iffy on thhn (grabs copper) and won't strip), thin wire (either doesn't work or takes strands) and the cutters wear out fast. Perhaps Knipex has made the better mousetrap, though.
They don’t work good on THHN. I have the better Knipex PreciStrip16 ones that are double the price with the same blades and it’s tough. I have to do a little twist motion to help cut into the insulation. Otherwise with normal thick wires, multiple wires, and even foil shielding it works perfect every time.
I got the 12 62 180 stripper in germany 🇩🇪 3 years ago loved them but they broke and I can't get anyone to warranty them for me in Canada😭
Some of those wire tools are rebranded Rennstieg, owned by Knipex.
The stripper is like the ones I got at the Louisville Truck show back in '98 except the cutter is underneath they're so old the mnf name is worn off they're blue and yellow and still going strong today.
I have a pair of those strippers and love them. They are one of the only strippers I’ve found that can deal with Teflon insulated wires and they do a great job at it.
I have the Ideal Katapult and they can handle Teflon as well as LSZH. One of my coworkers has the old Knipex strippers and loves them.
Can you use that stripper for non stranded wire?
I know you live knipix but hate butt connectors a ture labor of love from Clay
I can’t stand butt connectors. I’m a heat shrink and solder guy
"K" nipex 😂😂😂😂
The k in knipex is not silent because knipex (unlike knife or know) is a german name and not an english word
I love Knipex tools, however I do believe NWS has them beat as far as most pliers and cutters go. And NWS usually are cheaper !
Will the head rotate so it could be used in the left hand? (180 degrees)
guess you didn't watch the video all the way through, because this was demonstrated
I watched it twice. He rotated it to use in front (90 degrees) but not all the way to the other side. I’ll check the website. I should have done that first. 😂
I enjoy the videos!
Like the stripper. That ring/spade terminal crimper is WAY overpriced. You can buy a pair for $20 that is 100percent as good..and crimps the same way...and I love Knipex.
What's the purpose of those Ferrell's?
To fall apart or vibrate apart.
They are great for fast assembly instead of butt connectors. I hate them.
@@nashneubauer9016 they're for wire inserts where you have a set screw or press and forgets, instead of inserting a bare wire and smashing out the copper strands which break over time this creates a much more robust reliable connection. These are great contacts
I have the tension adjustable version of the strippers last years model. Not even 2 years old. So disappointed with them. They slip on coated Romex. They take 2-3 pulls to strip. I'm a DIY guy not a pro that uses them everyday. I love Knipex but these were junk. I also find it odd the version before mine didn't have the tension adjustment. It seems they went back to that.
Is the K silent?
No
I think so.
No if you go watch the first video I did with them we covered this topic and even got the pronunciation on the screen.
Here is the real question that matters... do they come in green?
Knipex won’t be in green in looks like since red is kinda the trademark
Just bought the stripper.
Can someone please ask them how they supposed to pronounce knipex
They already made a video and tee shirt …. Just Google “correct pronunciation for Knipex” you will see the video they did.
Best stripper! ❤️
I know a thing or 2 about strippers
KeyNipex?? Aren’t they called Nipex?
Take a look at this ua-cam.com/video/WhPfpylZuiA/v-deo.html
@@KoonTrucking good deal! I’ve heard it being said both ways on their videos hence the confusion. I always believed it was KuhNipex. Anyways, thanks for the video !
I like most of my knipex pliers but the strippers are garbage. I am an automatic gate installer and strip a lot of wires. The knipex "automatic" strippers simply do not work.
Which strippers work? I don't strip enough wire for it to really matter but I'm curious which ones are truly workhorses.
I mean, they're a quality product, but there's nothing new here.
Knipex crimping pliers are ok, but i think strongly overpriced. I have some, work well. I also had some VDE cutting pliers,.... the surface quality were far below its price point. One of them was useless, other was scrap. They were hard to open too. I hated them. What i do not understand: if an item is scrap, why do the let them go out to market??? (the scarp plier was exchanged by Knipex, the other (13 46 165) i got rid of on lower price) I never buy again Knipex, because it is unacceptable. Believe me, or not, Gedore still making better priers, opens easily, cuts well, nice surface finish, and lower price. I do love Gedore priers, highest quality available. Knipex have stronger marketing, that is why so popular nowadays, but they are not as good as they think..... I am from Europe, maybe they focus on USA market better.
So,is it pronounced CA- NIP-EX like he does or NIP-EX? I think the latter.
Kah-nip-ex
Sema has to many thieves
Yeah there’s always someone looking to snatch something. But they will answer for that one day and it’s going to be bad.
Cheap strippers … bought a pair of these a year ago and still haven’t used them yet because the blade fell out after a couple uses
Still like my Blue Point strippers better
In my opinion, strippers are never worth the money.
They do their job, and the good ones do their job very well. But it always feels like you could have saved your money and just rubbed the sheath out yourself.
I like Knipex, but those strippers stink. The cheap ones are much better and cheaper.

Good Evening ⏰️ 23.17pm
These giant tools for stripping and crimping are not useful when in a tight dashboard area or even a slightly tight spot! I will keep using my standard strippers and crimp tool!
I just solder the wire and heat shrink tape it
