    So, Metalcloak reached out to me and really liked the video! Woo Hoo!! They also pointed out that during the steering stabilizer installation, I only used 2 washers and it should have been 4. Start with 1 on the bolt and then place the #2 washer on the bottom lip of the bracket, push the bolt through #2 washer then the eye of the shock, slide#3 washer between shock and the upper lip of the bracket, push the bolt all the way through, add #4 washer on the top of the bracket and then tighten the nut. I will tell you that it was an extremely tight fit and just like the track bar mounting point, I had to widen the space of the bracket to accept both washers and the shock. I wasn't sure if it was going to fit and it took quite a bit of opening up to get it right. It is much better now and rocksolid. Metalcloak customer service is on a whole other level guys!! Outstanding!!

      I actually saw that the "ears" or "tabs" seemed bent in around the shock and thought that is not the fit and finish I want.
      Thanks for clearing that up. When I feel the force tell me I'm soon to experience Death Wobble, I will keep them in mind as a good solution.

      @Tunaslayer1 Yeah, it was totally my bad. I didn't use the bracket that came with the stabilizer which actually had all four washers. I was using the hardware from the track bar relocation bracket and should have clued in when there was the extra space. I had to open the bracket back up after pinching it down while trying to get it to the right torque setting. So thankful for the comments from MetalCloak and others to help me out. It is so much better now, has a perfect fit and the little play I had in the stabilizer is gone. Thanks for the Comment Tuna... Good looking out.

    I wrote a big long comment yesterday and for some reason, the post doesn't appear today (?). One of my brain meds must have dropped the ball. Buster even chortled a bit when you discovered the stripped threads on the lower control arm! Great tutorial for 2007 and up Jeep owners. If you don't have DW now, hang on 'cause it's coming for you. Love from Buster and dad❤

      Yeah.. I thought for sure everything looked good but looks can be deceiving. I could feel/ hear the clunk which evidently was the rod end sliding within the control arm. At a regular parked position, it truly looked like it was in the correct position and tight. The new control arms will arrive tomorrow and I will start the replacement of all 8 arms next weekend. Now I need to order one of those angle devices to help dial in the correct pinion angle. The cool thing is Metal Cloak reached out to me after viewing the video with a huge thumbs up.. That was unexpected and appreciated!! Glad someone is watching these videos!! love ya Dad!

    I’m replacing my Rubicon stock suspension with the Game Changer 2.5 system and this steering package in two weeks. Super excited to get it on there.

    Put on the Metalcloak game changer 5.5” lift, the heavy duty steering upgrade, drop down brackets and new 40’s on my ‘13’ unlimited. It rides better now than when I first got the Jeep. Metalcloak is worth the money.

      That sounds like an awesome set up! It seems as though I am slowly converting my 4.5 Icon lift to a Metalcloak one. Those game changers are sweet. I just ordered the Duroflex control arms and will end up ordering new springs.. The crazy thing is I am considering dropping down an inch to a 3.5 lift and drop my 37s to 35s. The other option is to rid my Jeep of the Dana 30. But man, the price keeps going up....😂 thanks for the comment! stay safe on the trails!

      @@86Ctopher no mater what direction you go, you’ll love the Metalcloak setup. Yeah crate axles are a bit salty…I bought an ultimate D44 for mine last year. If I remember right it was around $6G

      Yeah- I will eventually pull the trigger. I like the ProRock 44. But then I want lockers, chromoly shafts, and. and and... it never ends. 😂

    I just ordered the MC Track bar, but already installed the Moog tie rod & Drag link, wish I would have gotten all MC, for a few hundred more. Will get the MC Control arms next.

    • @86Ctopher
      @86Ctopher  2 місяці тому

      I think you will really like the track bar. That thing is BEEFY. The moog should hold up long enough to save your money to upgrade. I have had to do my upgrading a little at a time. I wish I could go and hit it all at once but I am learning quite a bit by going through each part of the suspension. I am thinking a MC Rear Track bar and swap out the springs for a 3.5 inch. It's either that or new driveshafts. Running this thing without adjustable control arms and bad pinion angles have really wreaked havoc on them. Hope you like your new track bar!! Thanks for watching and leaving a comment!

      @@86Ctopher yeah, now I’m eyeballing the rear MC track bar, and upper, lower control arms and the sway bar links. I just ordered the steering damper from MC, to replace that garbage Rough Country I put In there. I have RC shocks too, originally ordered the Rancho 5000sx, but they did not fit in my 2010, the rear shock was like a 1/3rd of an inch too wide for the “cup” mount, and I did not want to widen it, so I bought the RCs, they seem fine. I’ll probably replace those Too with some decent mid grade Billsteins in the future, no Fox $$ here ;). Another big expense, I need a new gas thank skid plate, it’s the only part that is rusted out. Every other frame piece not a spot of rust. Dunno, seems guys in their 50s are loving their Wrangler upgrades, me being one, and 2 close buds of mine.

    • @86Ctopher
      @86Ctopher  Місяць тому

      Very nice! New trackbar and a stabilizer too! You will be all set! Be sure to use all 4 washers for your stabilizer at the bracket. For some reason I either misplaced 2 of them during the initial install or they weren't delivered with the relocation bracket. Metal Cloak reached out to me when they saw the video to help correct the mistake. It might be a super tight fit. Be prepared to possibly open it up a little!
      I loved your No Fox money comment... that's funny. I was thinking the same thing when I saw those new Rocksport Black Resevoir shocks Metalcloak just released. They don't make them for the JK yet but said they are working on it. I better start saving now lol!
      My thought is.. Wheel what you have until it breaks. Everything eventually fails, some parts (companies) sooner than others. More importantly, get out and enjoy it. Looking forward to hearing how your install goes.

    Did you freshen up your frame surface with something?

    • @86Ctopher
      @86Ctopher  Місяць тому

      Absolutely! It was looking rough under there. I took a wire wheel brush to knock off the rusty areas on the frame, axle, and anything else than was rockchipped and then took some Rustoleum paint and primer in one flat black and sprayed a few coats on it. Just covered the parts I didn't want painted and keep it protected from over spray. It has held up very well. Thanks for noticing!!
