Cannot wait for the Ori 2 review. It is literally one of the best games I’ve ever played, I’m a huge Ori fan, and I can admit that the first game is like a 6/10, but Ori 2 is on a whole different level.
In my opinion, the second game felt a whole lot less focused and less polished than the first. But maybe that was because I played it around launch back when the bugs and glitches were abysmal.
@@cameronwallace8265 I've played both on switch at least 5 times from beginning to end and I seem to encounter more issues with the first game. Though I've heard that second games' the switch version could bafflingly be the best version of the game. Will of the whisps is one of the few games I’ve one hundred percented. It wasn’t too difficult to do either. Awesome duo of games. I liked the 2nd more because they really made the combat pretty fun. Not to mention the great controls and beautiful art style.
Honestly, ever since I played Ori 2, I have not been able to go back to Ori 1. The sequel improved on every aspect of the first game by an indescribable amount, (which is saying something considering I didn't think there was much improvement to be made after I finished Blind Forest) most noticeably with the fluidity of the animations. Which by the way, the first game still has lovely smooth animations, but Will of the Wisps just absolutely knocks it out of the park!
Arlo, I’d LOVE to hear your thoughts on Outer Wilds. Its approach to storytelling, its gameplay, and its thorough lore is fascinating and makes it one of the greatest games I’ve ever played
I just wish it was on Switch! It didn't hook me on PC but I feel that with a handheldy/hibrid experience I would have powered through way more cycles. Dying when feeling that you are about to make a major breakthrough is tough! Is it the darksouls of storytelling? I immensely am intrigued about the story, though.

It took me a long time to realise that Pikuniku is picnic in Japanese! 😆 It was a cute, fun game. The Ori games were both great. They were tough, though.
Hey Arlo, I'm an avid puzzle game fan and Goragoa slipped under my radar, so thank you, because this game is incredible. Took a bit to grow on me, but once you get it, it's really something special.
I played Gorogoa a while ago and was pretty astounded. When a lot of puzzle games just follow similar structures and paths, it’s nice to see something completely different.

Bash (boost) is my favourite movement mechanic in any metroidvania. I love it so much. These are my favorite things for you to do. Your review on Ittle Dew got me genuinely interested in a game I would've otherwise blown far past. Please never forget to do these!
You should totally check out just shapes and beats! It's a $20 bullet hell rhythm game. There's a story to go along with it but it's pretty light, only really shown in the level map, cutscenes, and bosses. There are different areas you go through which have light themes in the levels. The story is basically about a pink circle monster invading the blue square world by corrupting the blue triangles and making them pink. Each level you get one triangle back and you have to like get all of them until you have the power to fight back in the last level. Very fun and has AWESOME music for the levels.
Goragoa is a MASTERPEICE. My roommates and I downloaded on a super boring weekend during quarantine and played it together throughout the course of an afternoon. We were blown away by how much fun it was to do together. This can absolutely be played in a group where one person does the controller inputs but everybody gives ideas on how to solve the puzzles based on what they can see on the screen. It was like doing a big puzzle together, we were so happy when we finished it together. Highly recommend playing this one !!
really hope youre gonna give ori and the will of the wisps a try soon because for me personally the sequel was way more fun and had a far more heartwrenching story then the blind forest
Zeke was what he called the dog That he watched get roasted on a log He cut open a bun Licked his lips and said "Yum" Someone laughed "Who names a hot dog?"
There once was a dog named Zeke He was really shy and unique He had a third eye and could lift a bed by… Just blushing and Redding his cheeks I have no idea XD
Is there any chance you're able to make a compilation of the Raycon ads? I seriously love following the Raycon Saga and it actually would be great binging a Raycon commercial for so many minutes straight 😂
I loved Defunct. I Made a small series for my channel a long time ago it's so cool. It's a pretty challenging game if you actually try to get all the collectibles. It's still pretty fun and cool
Oh I LOVE Goragoa!!! I played the whole thing in one sitting when I first got it, and had my mind blown over and over by the sheer brilliance of the puzzles and art. So glad you enjoyed it too Arlo!
"Where have you taken me?" "To the edge of the universe." "Glad we could find parking." Arlo should become a stand up comic, that got a pretty good chuckle out of me. "Now I will send you through the rift and take your place as Arlo Prime." My man ascended and became a video game franchise, pog. Jokes aside, I cannot recommend Ori enough to anyone interested. I've played both Blind Forest and Will of the Wisps, they are pieces of art in every sense of the phrase. The visuals are gorgeous, the story's heart wrenching (you're gonna go on a feels trip, guaranteed), and the music is phenomenal. The gameplay's really great as well. I'm super glad they got ported over to Switch.
Ori and the blind forest is a beautiful game that told a great, emotional story. I didn't understand the part with the "ultra aggressive enemies". Personally, I never had that problem once I figured out how to deal with each enemy type. It did help in showing how hostile the environment is and how small and physically weak Ori is. It mixed story with gameplay in a really fun way. I will for sure try out Gorogoa now. That game looks amazing and if there's subtle storytelling involved, I'll be obsessed with the game
Can agree, the escaping water + chaining sequence didn't make me as mad as I could have been while retrying it over and over BECAUSE the music was making me feel good at the same time as I was feeling bad, it truly helped me stay rational by balancing out my emotions and I finished the sequence a lot faster then I thought I was going to.
I feel like Ori's music wasn't that good. It was pretty and well orchestrated, but it just isn't anything special. Definitely not a "masterpiece" since most of it is just a repeat of a single song that plays during the dramatic scenes. It's also VERY over the top at times.
@@Victini1734 Highly agree, it was fine and fit the atmosphere but also felt kind of generic at times and tbh the only music i remember is from the escape sequences. Ori 2's music on the other hand? masterpiece.

My roommates
and I downloaded on a super boring weekend during quarantine and played it together throughout the course of an afternoon.
That sounds like a good idea. Did 'tale of two brothers' with my non-gamer wife, which was fun. I'll try this one next. Thanks!
Arlo, you and I are on the same page with Ori. Just couldn't get into it sadly.
really hope youre gonna give ori and the will of the wisps a try soon because for me personally the sequel was way more fun and had a far more heartwrenching story then the blind forest
Zeke was what he called the dog
That he watched get roasted on a log
He cut open a bun
Licked his lips and said "Yum"
Someone laughed "Who names a hot dog?"
UNDERRATED. YES. Thank you for your hard work!
I love the dramatic music over the generic sponsor
just wow at Goragoa, its so beautiful.
These types of videos are some of my favourites. Super engaging, fun and get me right back to the eshop!!
I can't lie, I normally hate those RayCon ads, but...dag gummit, the ending of this one had me in tears. Well done, man.
There once was a dog named Zeke
He was really shy and unique
He had a third eye
and could lift a bed by…
Just blushing and Redding his cheeks
I have no idea XD
Ooooohhhh, I've been eyeing Defunct for a while now. Thanks for reviewing it !
Is there any chance you're able to make a compilation of the Raycon ads? I seriously love following the Raycon Saga and it actually would be great binging a Raycon commercial for so many minutes straight 😂
Okay, now I'm totally sold on Gorogoa and I'll be putting it on my wishlist. Thanks for the review Arlo!
Always happier when I see an Arlo upload. Keep it up my guy
A Short Hike is one of the best games I've ever played, try that
I’m loving Ooblets right now! It’s kind of like Pokemon meets Stardew Valley with that specific kind of dumb humor that gets me.
I would definitely try ori and the will of the wisps because I thought it improved on the original and fixed basically every problem you had
Sometimes it truly is just... skill issue. lol
@@HenyaStudent I was gonna say this but felt too much like a gatekeeper xD
Pikuniku was a surprising treat
Arlo the Raycon thing is honestly the funniest running gag I've ever seen lol...
I love the arlo ads
“Gals we found parking” (drum sounds)
Ender Lillies Quietus of the Knight is the best hidden metroidvania on switch. Beautiful world and great gameplay
Yooo! Defunct got a mention! I LOVE this game! Honestly such a hidden gem on the Switch. This game is what I think 3D Sonic games should feel like.
c'mon Arlo, how are you not gonna talk about Ori's music? That's one of the main draws of the game IMO. Absolutely masterpiece of a soundtrack.
@@Victini1734 Agree to disagree. There were a ton of unique tracks in Will of the Wisps
