  • I always figured Kraid's Lair would sound nice as a slow waltz :) Inspired by Schostakowitsch's Waltz no. 2.

Now all I can imagine is Kraid in a tutu.
So thanks for that wonderful, totally not emotionally-scarring image.

Well, nobody waltzes in a tutu. I'm thinking something backless in crushed velvet, maybe a nice maroon or even a daring crimson.

Could be worse. I've unfortunately seen that people draw Ridley in the Zero Suit....

I'm hearing it as a score for some kind of Tim-Burton-directed Metroid... thing?

This makes me want a steampunk-themed Metroid. Imagine fighting Ridley, but he has a handlebar mustache, monocle, and top hat.

Super metroid: A game where you spend 50 hours exploring a sizeable hole in the ground buiit by birds, taken over by space pirates, none of which has opposable thumbs and all the while your hunting for a flying galaxy ending jellyfish. You know the game is wierd when you just lay it all out like that. LOL

a father daughter dance, with the elderly Chozo who took her in as her adoptive father? That would be SO sweet.

The Metroid series is my favorite. Your adaptation was unique and overall a fresh take on the original. Good work!

This is a great arrangement. its criminal that it doesnt have many views. I always felt like Kraid's Lair was a waltz given the nature of the 3/4 pulse. great job!

It's like a dark carnival.... which sums up Super metroid quite well.

I absolutely love this. I've seen a comment or two saying this music is "Metroid, but [insert scenario other than space opera that this reminds them of]." and tbh, I got the same vibe.
This mix preserves the feelings of being lost, stranded in a desolate and hostile land, but to me, rather than deep space, I hear this song and think of the atmosphere as having found yourself lost among the courts of fey, looking for a way back to your own world. I'd love to see such a spin.

Can't believe I missed that one... Your covers are as good as ever, there is a real feeling of symphonia: the loudness of each and every instrument is natural, there is not too much accompaniments so the sounding is clear, and deep at the same time: in other words; it's balanced. The just middle, like. Also, it's funny, but for some reson it sounds like some sort of parodic movie soundtrack x)

Amazing orchestration, I love all your orchestrations. You should also compose music, you would do it really great.
And just an opinion: I guess your arrangement is in B minor, and the original is in E minor, could you make a version in E minor? Anyway, this orchestration is amazing! Good job!
