With Juji Uke, the weapon-bearing arm must be pressed tightly against the opponent’s body to prevent them from executing another strike with the stick. While the right Gedan Barai immobilizes the weapon-bearing hand, the left Gedan Barai takes the stick out of the opponent’s hand.

After the block, grab the weapon hand and pull it downward. During this movement, the stick touches the defender’s forearm, forcing it out of the opponent’s hand.
