  • I just had a comment on a resent video from an old friend from the now discontinued ski forum Epic Ski. Epic Ski was the s**t back then and I made over 8000 entries with drawings and photos and videos to back up my claims or inspire or fuel discussions. We also lay the base for the "ski terminology" used all over the internet today and we gave Motion Analyses for people posting their video in the MA. I don't even remember when it was discontinued but for me at least my UA-cam channel Triggerbody62 took over quickly and over the years became the main focus for my online presence.
This video was a tribute to Epic Ski when it all ended and because I could not find it on my channel I decided to make a re-release.
Funnily enough the Thumb Nail for this video is generated automatically from the video and landed on a picture I have drawn explaining the ankles role when tipping. Just as I tried to explain in the video on HOW TO RID A-FRAME 2 a while ago.
@Aareses, thanks for bringing back all these nice memories and I know that there are other Epic Ski members here watching my videos so please leave a comment below!
    Reg, Tom

Nice! Reminds me one of the episodes of film "Matrix" - "now I know how to ski" :)

    Hi Triggerboy.
I’ve watched many of your videos while I was learning and still continue to learn of course.
I have just recently joined a local ski club and started to slalom training. But I am struggling a lot with hairpins. Could explain the technique to make those short rapid turns? Thanks 🙏

Thank you for watching. Yes I will. There are several elements that can be explained and demoed that nobody seems to address. Thanks for the tip. Cheers, T

I hope it's archived somehow. It's always a tragedy to lose this history.

I think parts of it was archived but I suspect it is lost forever. Sad because the information was enormous, the reading was entertaining and it also told the story of how skiing evolved during those years. Also, many older people contributing probably have passed or are going to pass in the near future and all is lost. T

@@Triggerboy62 Most likely I was reading those as I was trying to coach myself through racing in high school. I would hope someone has it, but I think we're all learning that the internet is not forever like we were told.

Hello Tom, big fan of your channel! Do you have any insight as to the causes of having the inside half thrown backwards after exiting a tight carved turn? Exhibited by Alice @2:40 on a GS course, ua-cam.com/video/uUCbdMwP7sc/v-deo.html. Similar mistake happened to me last time, still couldn't figure out why....🤔

Alice is caught in the rut and her outside ski did not turn as planned and she lost her balance. But if you look at her turns a bit earlier you can see that she is very late with a low line as follows. She then just rides it out being late and going straight at the gates and gets caught up in the rut from previous skiers. Looks like the surface is very uneven and difficult to ski.
Usually the inside half gets thrown back when you are late and you are trying to compensate by strong rotation of upper body. Then all of a sudden you get thrown out of balance. It can either be a result of trying to over rotate or then you get over rotated like Alice preventing you from performing the correct movement. Actually the opposite movement, angulation and counter rotation.
      Any thoughts?
      Cheers, Tom
