To answer Al's question, Gabrielle said it's this way because when you take care of your own house hold and your family outside of your household, you have a certain level of responsibility. So what I gathered was that it wasn't just about the actual money, it was about the increased responsibility of supporting the people you love. And just in case something happens, she can cover herself.

Of course it changes things I think it changes many things in the relationship If you’re not equally at the same level financially I think when you’re younger, it’s a different experience but as you get older things change and you need more from your partner, than you did, when you younger my issue that I’ve had relationships it’s actually destroyed our relationship because the person wasn’t equally on the same level, and you end up giving more to that person, and that person long-term tends to take more advantage, and becomes a little more entitled to you taking care of them which I think really causes issues later down the road and also causes resentment. but I think on some level that’s a loaded question because many people are going to have a total different perception and different experience because we are all individuals.

i feel like this us a perspective common among ppl raised by single mothers. gabby and dwade are ungodly rich so their situation is not even relevant to the majority of us. in terms of everyday ppl, if a woman splits 50-50 with a man, then has their children, statistically she will still do more of the housework and childrearing, not to mention her salary is affected. so the woman actually winds up doing more work while paying half. this makes no sense. that's a bad roommate situation.

WHO’s to say they didn’t pay different percentages for the home, but as far as monthly bills, they pay the same.
