in india 3000 years ago people put dead human in pot and bury with his gold and stuff. Athichanallur. Only there we have big tall claypots
Thanks beautiful pottery and wonderful to watch something so natural and healing at this time when the world is so loud ☺️
I thoroughly enjoyed seeing this entire process, start-to-finish. Very cool.
✨✨I respect masters. 👍🏻These pots are huge. It really takes mastery to be handmade. It's like watching a fairy tale. 👏🏻 I hope they train many students. their art is permanent and unforgettable💐💐💐💐
This was fascinating ! I have thrown a pot before on the wheel and know how much effort it is. I hope this family is able to continue their business for more generations.
Very beautiful work, always dreamt of such a jug, but I haven't seen it on sale in our region.
How long does it take to make one jug from the beginning?
Hello, I'm the main character of this video, Obuja Onggi. It takes 45 minutes to make a large jar.
Super vidéo
A quoi ça sert ?
@@HeeGunOnggi it's very fast
@@sylviegoujon1138 I once saw a video about making soy sauce in these long storage jugs.
@@MAXProcess merci 💖💖💖
That fire takes several days. Amazing work ❤
Beautiful craftsmanship. They make it look easy but it’s not, adding each layer and making sure it is attached well while maintaining the shape and overall thickness takes skill and strength. I hope this family is able to maintain their family business and prosper for many, many generations to come.
Wonderful to watch and for once I enjoyed music added to a video.
It's so beautiful. Combining coil method with throwing on the wheel is brilliant. What a perfect work of art.
I absolutely love the onggi tradition!

Praise God, bless the great craftsmen.
So good! 👨🌾
It’s fun to recognize and see the difference between the sons pottery, and the fathers
Just great.. wonderful heritage
Love watching craftsmen at work doing it the old way. Looks like someone is going to be making a lot of Kimchee.
Absolutely masters . Fantastic
Buen trabajo!! Muchas grácias !!
Wow, shining all the jars, they all are quite big where they use exactly, ? Thank you🙏.
Great video
Best karigari
Fantastic
Pottery Boot Camp Fitness! So much exertion to soften the clay. But the process very interesting.
Maravilloso 👏👏👏👏
I like the family photo from the first generation potters in 1647
Korea did not have much of Cooperage tradition, because of these potteries were extremely commonly used.

Beautiful ❤
excellent!
I want a pair of those rubber genie shoes.
ELEMEĞİ
the repetitive music creates a singular mood throughout the video which destroys the nuances of the maker's behaviour. it's also rather sentimental
So what are the monster pots used for?
For pickling kimchii
making and storing soy sauce, hot pepper sauce, alcohol.
storing rice, water, whatever.
@@davidjacobs8558 those large pots.. that's a lot of booze!
@@AffordBindEquipment oak barrels are even bigger.
Maybe the fish pot is for fermenting fish sauce.

The size of the balls of this guy when he pulled out a wooden stick he found outside. Love good craftmanship. doesnt matter what tools you have.
What are the names of the machines you use and what type of clay are you using?
how jar gets glossy black color
Sungguh luwarbiasa sekali saudaraku
Dang they have to spin the wheel by hand
Anyone know what these were originally used for?

Thinking the initial hammering was for show because that machine mincer
i do wonder if the initial hammering removes the large majority of the air, and the extruder pushes out the remaining amount? the extruder seems pretty slow and can only pump so much out, so maybe hammering takes less time in the long run. the hammering could also be working the clay up to a homogenous moisture level, which i know can take a long time via extrusion

They are nice pots but so boring

一般般
I love what they make. What is the reason for massaging the clay with the big mallets?
First stage of removing air on the clay. But I am pretty sure they can only using the mechanical one, but they like to keep and respect tradition.
Air bubbles in the clay will cause explosions in the kiln.
@@christophercooper6731 Thank you.
It's also to make the clay consistent, so they don't have wet spots or clumps of dryer clay.
Wonderful job I'm also proud to be a pottery artist too @akinpotter

For pickling kimchii
They are for fermenting and storing kimchi, doenjang, gochujang and soy sauce 😊
Lovely works of art!❤
Finding large unglazed terracotta jar/barrels on line is very difficult what are their prices like? I have seen a video of an outfit in India which males an evaporation/ transpiring refrigerator; do these people have something like that
Large unglazed terracotta jars/bàrrels are available if you request for it
