ExoHyde Protective Coating is an easy to apply low VOC paint that provides superior adhesion to most surfaces and dries to a hard, resilient finish for a durable and weather resistant coating. ExoHyde's thick constancy and fast drying time makes it easy to create a variety of textures with a very attractive finish. Thanks to the superior adhesion properties, no primer coat is necessary for most surfaces making the application a simple one step process. Originally designed as a professional finish for speaker enclosures, this paint can be used in a variety of situations.
Application of Exohyde is extremely easy. For surface preparation, just fill any pits and voids with putty or wood filler, sand all surfaces smooth, and remove any dust. Then, apply a heavy coat of ExoHyde to achieve the texture you want. The recommended foamPRO foam texture rollers will create a consistent texture with the look and durability of an expensive professional finish. One coat is usually all that is needed for complete coverage. However, you can use multiple coats to increase the overall texture, durability, and water resistance.
Since ExoHyde is water soluble when wet, cleanup is as easy as can be. Simply rinse brushes or rollers with water after application and they can be reused many times. Once dry, ExoHyde is extremely water resistant and very difficult to remove which allows you to clean any dirty finished surfaces with soap and water.
Note: Stir Exohyde thoroughly before use and occasionally during prolonged usage to prevent pigment from settling to the bottom of the can.

This will be great on the Home theater gurus "Hammer" sub. Can't wait till the GSG flat pack kits are ready....
Been using truck bed liner for years, works great.
which kind?
@@bsiChewyI think it's Dupli Color Truck Bed Lining from O'Reilly Auto Parts. In the spray can. Seems to go better then than the roll on.
truck bed liner flakes off too easily. DuraTex and ExoHyde is hard to make it flake.
I tried some bed liner spray in the past and it was very rough to handle. Does anyone know if this is just like a professional speaker cabnet finish?
This stuff looks pretty cool, ive got some other ideas for it!
If there ever was a case of "application at home looks nothing like the commercial", this is it. Wait for my review of Exo - Hyde.
surely OP will deliver
How long to cure and have speakers stacksed and not sticking to each other? 90 days?
How does this work over sanded wood filler and siliconized plumbers caulking?
sand and paint, been years since i mixed a batch of that 😂
Thanks guys #painter
Duratex copy?
It might actually be the same product, or manufactured under license. As I remember, Acry-Tech was not set up well to support small quantity purchases of DuraTex, so this might be a collaboration rather than a copy, to offer DuraTex in small quantities. More research is needed.
Super 👍
Great 👌
Sringar kashmir ma ya knha mali ga
can this be applied to plastic power speaker boxes to coat them with thicker protection?
It will adhere to plastic if you sand the surface before applying. The drying time may be increased and you will need multiple coats to get the desired texture. I would question the protection or structural improvement after applying. I do not believe this would offer any kind of strength or structural improvement to the box.
Can you apply over black paint?
Sir, is it possible to extend the copper wire between two led strip light.
Does it cause any distortion to the circuit.
I need help on it
Well . . . .crap . . .12 subs and I'm just now learning about this, LOL! Oh well, I will have to pick up a few quarts (gallons?) and get those 18s and 15s painted!
This stuff is $60-$80 a gallon at Walmart or Home Depot..... Thts ridiculous especially since I only need about 1/8 of that. Does anybody know if they sell a smaller quantity?
Can I or should I use polyurethane satin finish after using exohide on my speaker cabinets?
Can you roll it on over old vinyl ?
what types of surfaces can it be applied to? i originally used truck bed liner on several cabinets i built. the product i was using the manufacturer changed their formulation and size of the polymer particles. due to use and wear and tear, the cabinets i built need an additional coat. will this product adhere to surfaces that are non porous?
It will adhere to hard non-porous surfaces. But if there is any sheen or gloss to it then you should scuff it up with 80 to 100 grit first to give Exohyde something to adhere to.
However, we haven't experemented with applying Exohyde over rubberized type surfaces such as Line-X.
From where we buy?
May I know the color code?
How to order?
Can you use a foam brush to get a smoother look?
Really, you can do whatever you want. Those rollers are to give a common desired look.
Is this comparable to truck bed liner paint?
Not the same thing.
Can you paint exohyde?
I'm sure you can, but I would try a small section first to make sure the paint you choose will adhere to the Exohyde.
Can you paint over it?
Yes, once fully cured (24 hours in most cases) you can apply latex or acrylic paints over top of it.
Are other colors going to be offered?
Will a spray blend be offered as welll?
Currently black is the only color available, but we can make custom colors thru special orders. The minimum order for custom colors is 30 gallons.
The current formulation of Exohyde is sprayable, but it will require high pressure and a large orifice. We are currently experimenting to determine the specifics and water dilution ratios for various types of sprayers.
How much? And can you supply me in Nigeria pls?
look in the video description for links to products with current pricing. add to cart and select your address to check shipping availability and pricing.
Did anyone else think of doublsmm? 🤔
No different from Dura-Tex, except the price tag for a gallon, the ExoHyde cost more than the Dura-Tex.
Duratex is sold in quarts.... these are gallons. Compared both websites.
Hey
But its black, black is boring
Can I use it as a bed liner?
If ya fill your bed with Ultimax 18’s ooh yea!!!
Possibly, but it would not be as durable or fade resistant as the 2-part epoxy and polyurethane based truck bed liners. Also, it would not have the rubbery texture that you expect with most truck bed liners. All surfaces would need to be thoroughly scuffed-up prior to application. It would handle water and UV rather well.
Just use bed liner, its better.
@@iowaudioreviews I've used bed liner on speaker boxes before, but I'm trying to figure out why this new product and not good ol bed liner?
Most truck bed liner and Exohyde are two completely different things.
Generally truck bed liner is a 2-part epoxy or polymer that cures using a chemical reaction. Epoxies and polymers are much more durable than paint...however, once mixed you must use all of it at once since it will completely cure in a set ammount of of time. Also, cleanup can require some harsh chemicals. Finally, the 2-part systems are much more expensive.
With Exohyde you can use what you need and save the rest for later (sealed in the can). Also, cleanup (when wet) just requires soap and water.
Just buy Duratex. Its cheaper
Is it? 🤔
Duratex is $58 a quart..... Exohyde is on sale now for $55 a gallon.
Will it work on plastic JBL PRX’s?
