This is the Settings Guide for Virtual Desktop with Quest 3 in MSFS how to get maximum performance from your VR Headset with RTX 3080 or similar GPU.

Great video! Thanks! I was under the impression that only through cable were we able to do this. I just spent over an hour flying wireless thanks to this video. I actually changed VR to High-End and it worked great for me with everything else as you have it set up. No more cables for me.

Thank you for this Video, I've started Flight Simulator VR from the begining with Quest 2 + RTX 2080Ti, then I moved to HP Reverb G2 + RTX 3080 for better quality and performance.
Now that the HP Reverb G2 is going end of life with WMR I was thinking going to the Quest 3!

How was the test? Can you tell me if it worked, I'm further behind because I just bought a 3080 Gainward Phantom and I'm going to buy my Quest 3 next week. Regarding the processor, it is an i5 10600K. And so I'm curious if I can expect video performance.
hello mate, that cpu is absolutly fine for VR actually the cpu for VR its not so much important GPU is doing much bigger job I belive you should be fine and get same performance as me. @@flyingHD
@@almedinfilms8390 I'll see if I can get the same performance with the same settings as in this video. That's why I asked you if you had already tried it so I could see what I could really expect.
Just got my Quest 3 in today and was struggling with getting it to look good and also run good. These settings are perfect. The only thing I did (which I'm not sure if it matters) is in the meta quest link softwarei changed the resolution and refresh rate of the device to be 90hz. I'm guessing it needed to match the settings in virtual desktop so it was a smooth half frame (45hz). So far it's working flawlessly I don't plan on going to very populated areas so not sure what i'll get in a place like new york city. I'll mainly be out in the bush exploring and sightseeing.

Thanks for the video. I have a 3080ti and I'm using the HIGH preset in VD and TAA in MSFS to have sufficient clarity on the glass cockpits of liners such as Fenix or PMDG. But I can reach 36 fps with those liners, not more... I'll try the DLSS option in GOD mode to see if I can gain some performance without degradating screens sharpness.

Hello mate, all settings in openxr settings are by default except turbo mode ON. That's why I didn't mention. )))
So, when you start MSFS in Steam, which runtime and software is running? SteamVR or the Oculus desktop? I'm moving from a Reverb G2 to the Q3 with a 3080ti.

Hello, my modem is wifi 6 probably because you have wifi 5. Anyway 1200 is enough for VR so you shouldn't be worried about that.
Great Video. I have 4090 and 7950X3D with reverb G2. Do you think the Picturequality would be the same as with Reverb G2??
No I was using G2 for 2 years and Q3 is much better with picture quality. )

On the overlay of OpenXR, I have app GPU. It is always at 0.0. What is it ?
My VRAM is at 103% and the turbo mode is always on ON.

You have 80 VD fps and 45 OpenXr fps.

sorry, but playing with reprojections/spacewarp turned on - is awful. smooth stable fps means nothing when the picture is a complete visual artifact. thats why people buy 4080/4090 and lowers the settings ))

Did you do something in OpenXR Toolkit becouse there you can do that to increase performance?
@@almedinfilms8390 do we use that side by side with virtual desktop mate ? And does oculus tray tool or oculus debug tool need to be used ?
no dont use oculus try or debug just virtual desktop in openxr VDXR and you are ready to go. I tested with oculus link cable and it didnt work very well so many stutters and bad picture quality. Also airlink with oculus software dosent work very well. Virtual Desktop is the app that you can do so many things nad optimize your machine for MSFS.@@tonyf9076

no, Im using TP-Link AX73 WiFi 6 Router for connection betwen Quest 3 and my PC on 5Ghz 160Hz WiFi connection and Virtual Desktop.@@tonyf9076
VR needs to get a lot better before I will entertain it they haven't progressed that match with it in the last 4 years
