The ladies were probably afraid of seeming shallow on looks, so they just stuck to the personality part.
I'd like to see a more in-depth video like this at some point - with anonymous ranking so people don't get shy about being honest.

Exactly how the Asian girl ended up last, she didn’t feel the need to validate her looks to others so she accepted being last. Meanwhile the over weight girl knew how it would look if she was last and didn’t want her own thoughts that she is not attractive validated. When they were validated by the men she accepted it with self pity by stating she never had a chance. So essentially the girls picked nearly the opposite of reality.
I think humility is a fantastic personality trait and that is partly why the Asian was first because it shows a lot of character to accept being last when there is an over weight girl clearly not as attractive but you want her to feel better about herself because she needs it more than you do.

I'm a girl and get the vibes that the other 2 (last girls) somehow is unhappy/displeased when Michelle suggests it seems to be the wrong order, from facial expression and question back. It's just that Michelle was confident enough in herself to not need to take this test seriously for confirmation that she's already beautiful and worthy enough. She didn't need to fight over a petty contest of who's better looking, because she wasn't as insecure as the others. Michelle's actual confidence and love of herself is what brought her up so high to the guys, despite not necessarily being the best looking girl of the bunch in terms of pure physical appearance. To me it seems like when the girls ranked themselves they put those who spoke more higher on the scale, and called it “personality”
I noticed the Asian girl didn’t speak much, therefore she was put as a 5. This is also similar to what I’ve seen in social groups in high school. The loud obnoxious ones are usually “popular” and those who are shy or quiet are ranked lower than them.

Alright my big brain idea here. She was rated number 5 because they would feel guilty for "Shaming" the girl who was rated 5 by the men. Race does have a LOT to do with this ranking. Asian culture and the way women are portrayed has a lot to do with how attractive that makes them to Americans. If black women were portrayed more as effeminate, delicate angels, then we would see them ranked higher in general, but in American culture we see black women struggling, having to do more work, not really being respected all that much in music--it's definitely an uphill battle for black women to get other ethnic groups to see them.
