Howdy Brendan, first off, Get well SOON! I have one of the RE branded versions of this helmet and it's OK, but I actually prefer a standard old 3/4 helmet (that was red) to match a Goldwing I had but I figured, paint is cheap! So, I painted it OD Green to match Oddball. The swing up visor is great and it already fits well after shaping to my head over a couple of years. Your visor does induce some whistle into the GoPro. The slot between the visor and the helmet when the visor is not shut, (as evidenced in an intermediate position typically), essentially creates a whistle slot. My 3/4 helmet does this big time. So, it's either fully up, or fully down and it's fine. Rest up and get back out there. Daisy Bell misses you, and so do we! Cheers, mate!
Hi Brendan happy New year to you and yours..a perfect helmet for you the plastic clip on the end of your strap is universal. I have them on me Arai fullface and my Bell open face helmet i have never seen a metal one. I was going to go for a spin on my bike but the back roads are well dodgy with black ice. Looking forward to the next video kiddo. Ride and be safe Ron Evans.
Didn’t realise how foolish I sounded now saying that about the plastic clip 🙈 lesson learned haha Think it’s gonna be some time before we’re gonna be able to get out and enjoy the roads ice free . 🥶
Great review there. It seems impressive value. I agree that bubble visors do look questionable. I just have the three for my Bell open face. I’m often laughed at 😂😂😂
You convinced me on this helmet! Although I have to buy online, what is the sizing like? My crown is 58cm as an intermediate oval. I am wondering whether I should go medium or large? Their sizechart states I am a medium but Urban Rider size chart states I'm a large.
I hope you like the helmet! My head is 60/61cm depending on the day and the helmet, making me get an XL. The fit is comfy, I would say go for the Large if Urban Rider says thats 58cm. Even if its too big, you can always exchange it and size down. Hope that helps!
I really love the style of those by city helmets but they're pretty expensive to get over here in the states. I'm looking at other retro brands that are more available here 🍻👍
@@Liewie honestly it hasn’t fogged up on me yet; it doesn’t hermetically seal like other helmets do, so there should be no issue that way 😁 at least in my experience
Great, aren't they? They do reflect as well, so best of both worlds! I got mine from xlmoto: www.xlmoto.ie/product/course-reflective-sticker-black_pid-PIA-223882 Hope that helps!
Thanks for the review! In your review you say that there is not enough space to install bluetooth communications. I'm thinking of buying this helmet and installing Cardo Systems FREECOM 2X in it. Can you comment on this possibility?
To be honest I'm not too sure. I only had Moman H2's installed in this for a time, but I'd imagine the ear pieces were roughly the same size, it was quite a tight fit as it doesn't have any sort of recess for ear pieces. I am able to use a single wireless earbud in the helmet though, if the Cardo is able to connect to wireless earbuds? Although then you might lose the microphone ability 🤷♂️ Might be better off looking into other similarly styled (but more expensive) helmets like the Shoei Glamster?
Hi. I'm wondering about the visor pop-in studs on this helmet. I like the look of the helmet but the pop-in studs which hold the visor down are giving me pause. Have you found that the studs have gotten looser over time, or that the visor itself has deformed?
I'll be honest, since fitting my camera mount to the helmet, I haven't been able to hold the visor down. Not a fault of the helmet, just the mount is slightly too big. Aside from that, the visor hasn't deformed or anything, and stays down when I have it down, opens when I open it fine. That being said, on occasion the studs did rattle with the visor open, but just tightening them by hand, they'd be fine again. Hope that all helps!
You said the air flow is great but that is exactly what worries me. At the store they told me that the wind could be annoying on long rides. What do you think?
For most of the riding I've done on it (average speed around 80kph/50mph) wind noise hasn't been a problem for me. Mind you, I mostly wear it in just summer time when the weather is hot and it's not as windy anyhow. The other day, however, I wore this helmet on the motorway on a different bike that had a windscreen, going about 120kph/75mph, the wind noise was there quite a bit! So really, i'd say it depends on what kind of riding you plan to do! For touring at a leisurely pace up to 100kph the wind never really bothered me. I do usually wear one earbud for music/directions, but even so in the other ear it was fine. Hope that helps! Any more questions feel free to ask 👍
Size wise, I think they sneakilly borrowed my other helmet at the time, the HJC i70, and went for the same size, which was an XL 😅 Best off going the size guide from whichever website you buy it from I suppose!
Don’t really ride highways too often myself , but the few times I have I didn’t really notice it being particularly noisy 🤔 then again, on the Bullet I wouldn’t be going much past 60mph on the highway anyways so I can’t say for sure I’m afraid 🤷♂️
Definitely! Very comfy helmet and it has a great field of vision. Just not so great when it gets too cold out, but a balaclava beneath might help that 😅
The red plastic button has no function other then holding the strap from flapping around, it‘s the same on 700eur plus racing shoeis. I always have a difficulty with suggesting helmets aside from pure style considerations. To suggest a helmet, the single most important protection item on a motorcycle I can‘t suggest anything less than the utmost best test certification compliant or race homologated helmet. Sure you‘re not racing on a Bullet, typically, but above 30km/h any shock can be deadly. And any difference makes a difference at that speed already, especially mounted camera gear, just look up for an emergency doc and check his opinion about that. Even so, I agree, it looks nice for a budget priced classic full face helmet with replaceable inner liners. Actually not as cheap, just normally priced for a spanish distributor of likely eastern production. As they say, they consider themselves as clothing manufacturers, helmets require different costly know-how and operation. Nothing bad about that, just noticing that your 100something is likely a local shop sell-out price as they start online at around 230eur. You can‘t suggest the helmet is the same EC22-05 vs. EC22-06, as the testing is different and the thickness is likely, too, check the weight as an indicator with two identical helmet models but differing cert on your table, as most helmets weight 100g more for EC22-06, this doesn‘t show (weirdly) on the site, which means nothing as brochure data is rarely to the point. It‘s a personal decision of safety to be made by everyone, first, considering your responsibility. Then choses in that context what fits your head best, then style and price.
All good points! Didn’t mean to suggest that EC22-05 is too far off EC22-06, I know the former is 20 years old and a completely different standard, I meant that this 2022 manufactured helmet in particular might not be that far off a summer 2023 production if it was that quick to get it to EC22-06 safety standards . Of course I don’t know for sure, this is just guessing on my part and not fact! As I said, safety first , any design/aesthetic stuff always comes after . But of course , everyone should do their own research and make their own choices about these things 👍 this is more a review of the helmet cos people were asking for all the details on it .
Got the dark blue one and use it for my 125ccm scooter. Best choice for the money , lightweight and comfortable. Love it ❤
Great review, of a real good helmet, well done Sir.
Thanks for this nice review. I also have the white version of this helmet. I am very pleased that it is light and comfortable.

thanks man ,may i ask , what size do you take.?

Is the helmet EC22/05 standard?
This one is 😅 the current line up is ECE22/06 so I hear, so better still!
@@BulletWanderer I wonder if it would be better to pick carbon fiber ECE22/05 or the heavier and with same price ECE/06 fiberglass composite version
