- Who doesn't love monsters? And things a bit like monsters? And things that actually aren't monsters at all?
After discovering these plastic horrors on my Extras channel, I joined forces with animator Harry Partridge to show some of the most bizarrely designed toys either of us have ever seen. (And we've both seen the GI Joe 'Manimals'.)

It's nice to see some original toys for once, not just ones that are merchandise for a TV show or a movie.

I think what you guys did at the end may have actually been the reason they included a few normal looking figures in the set. Makes it a lot funner to mix and match them!
Agreed, that ending slideshow was the best thing I've seen all day. I loved it.
I think the more nightmare-inducing stuff was at the end, when parts are mixed and matched. Also, the average girl and businessmen really shine, when your swapping parts around….
Every single one of those toys is a conversation starter... it is art.
I never knew that Harry Partridge animated with skeletal hands. The man has courage and remarkable talent, being able to draw with such a debilitating disability. He even needed Ashens to handle the figures in this video.
It tugs at the heartstrings, his story.

I'd guess that the businessmen figures only serve to give you a wider variety of parts to use when combining characters and making your own.
There's actually a film with a superhero who gets his powers by wearing ladies' pants on his head. Unbelievably it's Japanese.

Well, it's not really incorrect to refer to Frankenstein's Monster as "Frankenstein". His name is technically Adam Frankenstein. He wants to be called Adam, and considers Dr Frankenstein to be his father. Therefore, Adam Frankenstein.
The Creature was not given a name in the book. It was just refered to as "The Creature". So it is proper to call it Frankenstein's Creation or the Creature as it is referred to in the original book. :) Adam is just a fan name given.
Oh... And Victor Frankenstein was not a doctor. He dropped out of school.
Mary Shelley's original novel never ascribes an actual name to the monster; although when speaking to his creator, Victor Frankenstein, the monster does say "I ought to be thy Adam". Stole this from the Frankenstein Wikipedia page.

Oh it's a mongoose/cobra and will forever be trying to kill itself,(cobras and mongooses eat each other, well fight each other at least haha.)
That's what I guessed it was supposed to be a mix of, too.

The name 'Space Gandhi' nearly killed me. I want to write a comic with Space Gandhi as a character.
I think at the end you nailed the reason to include 'normal' people. Monsters that are just monstrous aren't scary, but monsters that corrupt a regular person are terrifying. That's why vampires, werewolves, zombies, the Borg, etc., etc. are scary. It's human fear of losing control, disease, being forced to do bad things.

Also, I like that show - it's a fun cartoon that was clearly made with the mindset of having it be enjoyable to both kids and adults. What? Adults can't enjoy a kids show because stupid people like you think that that means they lack social skills and are into bestiality or something?
Really, I think that nobody should hate the fairly normal bronies and instead focus on the people who hate them - all they seem to think about is horse fucking and socially awkward people masturbating, for christsakes!

Now, now, while some animes are very similar there are ones that stand out as different. I'm not generally an "anime fan" but it's not true to say that all of them - across genres especially - are nearly the same.
Also, I wouldn't say that MLP fandom has "died down", but I think the people who just liked it because it was popular aren't really around anymore and most bronies won't go out of their way to mention ponies everywhere, despite what you might think from a certain too-visible minority.
The end with all their creations was amazing... I cried a little.

Your ending custom creations are definitely by far the most amusing things I have really seen, especially from something that seemed a bit bland based off of these toys. Either way, I could not control my laughter when the slide show kicked in. I even had trouble breathing. Either way, I love it.

Rather a "reverse" furry. Most anthro' art tend to depict human -esque bodies with animalistic faces. Here we have a quasi "manticore", a humanoid face mounted upon a feral, quadruped body.
I have to say, you guys do make these look fun. The normal people are probably included so you guys can do what you did and swap out their parts with the mutants'.
As of today Google forced me to have a Google+ account in order to continue commenting. They have removed the ability for me to comment without having a Google+ account. So in retaliation, I will be doing nothing but commenting on how much Google+ sucks ass on every video I watch from here on out.
I think snopping is when you have a loose thread on your button hole, and you try to undo the button and it gets caught and you have to break the thread. It makes a snop noise.

They are actually quite good when you get creative mixing the body parts by the looks of the ending.

I actually really dig these character designs because they remind me of ancient descriptions and accounts of mystical beasts. For example, the long neck alien hooker reminds me of Japanese rokuro-kubi and the rejected thundercats are kinda like sphinxes. They are strangely fascinating and I can understand why you'd buy a crateful just to see how crazy they can get
They're so much better once you mix you and match all the parts.
