- Deep Cleaning a DISASTER Jeep! | The Detail Geek
This Jeep Grand Cherokee was full of all sorts of nasty stains and smells, and I even pulled a few VERY unexpected items out of it! The transformation it makes is nothing short of spectacular!

What a killer transformation!! Be sure to check out the announcement video over on the second channel and make sure you’re subscribed - the build series videos are coming soon!!
Have a great weekend everyone!!
Love from India ❤️❤️❤️
How much do you charge for detailing?
Wow, very well done Mitch! I am puzzled by the giant box of cat litter. Must have forgotten to bring it in after the stop at the store. Those leather/fabric seats looked like a nightmare to clean, but you did a great job. I am using your glass cleaner and your waffle weave towels and I am impressed. Glass cleaning, no streaks, no lint! Have a great weekend as well. You deserve it!
That giant box of cat-litter is for getting traction on icy roads whenever the vehicle is stuck in the snow.
@@1LEgGOdt Ok, good theory, but that doesn't match to the Jeep commercials where they drive it up a mountain. :)
Hey Mitch I’ve been wondering, how many vehicles do you see on a weekly basis?
Mitch, you are the man!! If more people had the heart, passion, and care for work like you do, the world would be a better place!!
I totally agree with you
I'm down so true
Knife is for protection and the litter is for spills and when you are stuck on ice or snow..
I keep a knife in my truck, too. I've used it many times, but not to defend myself. One in the truck, one in my purse, one in my desk, one in the other desk, . . .
Knife can cut your seat belt too. Sometimes in a wreck your seatbelt can get jammed up
Exactly 👍
I have 2 knives. One for home and one in my car. Mainly use it at work since i drive a street sweeper and cables and lines can get caught in my brooms
They must cross the southern border frequently
I think you need to start doing a mini series of strange/curious things you find in customers cars 😂
Yo like this guys comment if you agree
Next Video:
"I FOUND A DEAD BODY IN THIS VAN!!!"
😂😂😂😂
@@keiraheaney101 next video: I found a baby in this car
He *has* mentioned some strange things he's found in his Q&A's
I think you should make some detail geek stickers so when a vehicle is detailed and the client is totally okay with it , you put it on the corner of the rear windshield and it should say
“ Detailed by The Detail Geek “ with a rubber ducky in the picture . I’d so much love that . Its like leaving with a bonus souvinir .
Here in PA we sometimes use cat litter in the winter on ice. If you sprinkle it down on the ice it helps create more tractions on the wheels for those who only have 2 wheel drive!
We do this in Ohio to.
I was thinking either this or they may have an oil leak of some kind :P
^^this
Was gonna say the cat litter was for getting unstuck and the knife for driving around pa🤣🤣(joke)
And what's wrong with having a knife in the car?
The best part of the beginning of the weekend isn’t TGIF’s, it’s The Detail Geek’s videos! Love the stuff you do Mitch!
Incredible detail on a 14 year old car (the older vehicles are always my favorite ones to watch)--cleaned up beautifully. The owner must have been over the moon with the result. As a side note, really like that you are using instrumental music only to accompany your detailing--I prefer that over music with vocals. Again, fantastic job as usual.
At the reveal shots i went:
"Oh thats fuckin Fantastic"
Good Job Mitch
@Blackness it was an involuntary curse madam
Can you show us the full steps you take to remove the seats?
Love these grand cherokee models. They sure clean up nice 👍
The metal piece that was shown in the beginning on the floor, I hope you didn't throw it away. It's the part that holds an exhaust pipe to the exhaust manifold on the engine. It's used on different vehicles, and could be reused.
I have bought a lot of the supplies you use for my personal vehicles and I am pleased with everything, especially the steamer and extractor. Definitely takes cleaning to another level.
I only discovered this channel yesterday, and I've already lost count of how many videos I've watched💀
Welcome to the DG Nation. ^^
You’re still the only car detailer on UA-cam that I’ve ever seen clean the pedals and I love it!
but he never cleans the stalks and that's annoying
Is keeping cat litter in your car not a thing everywhere with snow? It adds weight to the vehicle so you don't slide as much on soft/loose snow, and you can sprinkle it under your car to get traction if you are stuck. Pretty standard part of winter gear, I thought.
Glad you mentioned the tires. My teen son wants bigger tires than necessary and I try to explain to him while they may look good, it’s not good for the vehicle.
Let your son have some fun. He won't learn until you allow him to mess up. If he wants bigger tires then the man wants bigger tires 😂
Mitch, very nice job that Jeep is pouncing like a gleaming black panther. Those are massive wheels. The carpet looks fantastic and the slow foam coverages are great. Looking forward to more build series. Did you have a ground breaking ceremony or you're going to wait untill " opening day"? I'd like to see a vid of your guitar outros.
Have you ever forgotten to put someones license plate back on?
This is more of a question for your second channel but how do you manage your time? And are you able to have down time with all the awesome projects you are doing? I'm just curious because my time management skills are brutal lol
That Grand Cherokee looks amazing, and love the the owner actually uses his, and it's not just a grocery getter!
I watched this on my TV yesterday and didn't get to comment! I just wanted to let you know that both the kitty litter and the knife belong to the family cat. He probably has a lot of people trying to pull him over for driving the car, so he uses the knife for protection. 👍🤣
ok I'm so sorry but like low key ur so fine 😩😩
Cat litter can come in really handy for getting vehicles unstuck
Especially in the winter.
Can't even begin to explain how good of a job you're doing. I meant to ask (maybe I've done already in another video, sorry too old!) You ever detail motorcycles? Would be interesting to see your take on that. As per usual, bloody good job mate
I would love to see a motorcycle get detailed..
I’d love to see a motorcycle as well
Bissell should be sponsoring Mitch by now
And McCulloch, and Bosch. ;-)
Hey! Car rental detailer here. How come you take out the seats? Wouldn’t it be just as good to push the seats forwards and back to get underneath? I detail 10-15 cars a day so removing seats isn’t as time efficient for me
Just a thought, probably the most simplest question, but do you also clean the license plates? I know those can get just as dirty as the car haha!
I know down here in Wisconsin many of us will carry cat litter in case we get stuck in mud, snow or ice. Also my brothers keep some around incase they get oil or anything on their driveways while working on cars. 🤷♀️
Who are the 15-20 jerks who always give his videos a thumbs down.. and why.. haters maybe?
No way those were 35’s. Idk the rim size but the tire said LT265. Most likely 30” or 32” tires.
Hey Mitch I knew you had this one and it was a piece of cake. My brother has a White Grand Jeep Cherokee w/ black leather seats and he details it himself, by the time he's finish it looks like it rolled out of the showroom. You two would get along just fine😉👍
Theory, the owner is a mechanic, all the oil and grease stains, cat litter for oil spills, jug of oil. They travel to jobs off the roads, traction tires. Probably forestry machinery. More than likely a side job, 35's with no lift, needed traction on a budget. Knife, because anyone who goes into the wilderness often carries a knife or two.
Sounds like a plausible Theory
The giant box of cat litter is probably for when the vehicle gets stuck on snow/mud and the cat litter works as a way for the wheel to get friction and get unstuck
Bro you live in Canada you should know why they have kitty litter! But I still love your work great job!!
Maybe he needs the litter in case he gets sticking the snow. Plus it helps weigh down the back for the winter driving.
I swear more Jeep’s have these stupid Dick Cepek style wheels than anything else.
Looks like a mechanics car (oil, exhaust parts) Cat litter is used to cover up oil leaks on the ground is my guess
Been meaning to ask this for a while, do you clean the seatbelts as well? What about the seat bolts in the floor boards? I never see those parts in the videos so I wasn’t sure!
Even though it’s summer - cat litter can provide great traction if stuck in snow
Knife can be for mercy on animals that may be hit or helpful if lost. Cat litter helps people get unstuck from places
When using the steamer on the car doors do you have to avoid the speakers? Is there anything you can’t use with the steamer?
I would never let my car get like that but you did an incredible job with it! I love watching your videos! I learn so much, thanks!
At 24:11 it looks like you missed part of the door jamb. I miss the same spot when I clean my cars.
Hey detail geek great vid I have a question for you have you ever found a gun in a detail just wondering
Ever considered buying used dirty cars and detailing them for resale??
The dude needs to just get it over with and put a decent lift on that thing lol, looks kinda silly with those off-road tires and stock ride height
The cat litter is used for when you get stuck in snow ditches. The litter helps create some traction to get you out.
Why would anyone lower a 4x4 and then put AT tyres on it? serves no purpose.
Man, Mitch what a great job you did on this thing. It was horrible inside and out.
Cat litter is a winter hack in case your vehicle is stuck in the snow…throw some under the tires for extra traction.
Got a question, do you charge less or do the details on your chanel for free since you get paid by you tube?
If it were winter, I would say the litter would be in case they got stuck in the snow or ice and needed it for traction.
I bought a bissel last week, and after a couple of test pieces and the floor mats in my car…OMG!! I was amazed how much dirt that it removes from things that already looked clean! 😊
Worst Grand Cherokee of all the generations and those wheels are straight out of the trailer park.
The results are in. Mitch the Detail Geek has officially joined other Canadian notables, such as Wayne Gretzky, Gordon Lightfoot, Michael Buble, and Blue Rodeo in my personal Canadian Hall of Fame! Congratulations Mitch! Oh, tell Mike he received 0 votes. Maybe next year.
🤣
Here in Minnesota those old Jeeps are long gone. Victims of the salt on the roads.
Cat litter helps with traction on snowy icy roads if you get stuck
Do you have a wait list for people wanting cars detailed?
i've Been Listening to your music and It's So calming:)
I believe the cat litter is against humidity and because it can clean fluid spills
Kitty litter is great for traction in poor conditions. It gives the tires something to grip.
Tried distilled water on my steamer for the first time noticed a difference so thanks
Me (from Alabama) : I can think of a million reasons to have that knife in your vehicle 😂
Great job.
I’d highly suggest I’m getting a good vacuum exhaust filter. You never know what might coming out of those vehicles and it looks like your built in vacuum is in your basement or house
After watching all these videos, I have only one question, how can someone leave their cars so dirty?
That knife just screams r/iamverybadass
That knife makes sense for someone prepared for a survival situation or self defense god forbid they ever needed that for it, and the cat litter is extremely helpful in case you get stuck on ice
Cat litter is for traction if you get stuck in some melty/icy snow!!! I thought carrying litter was commonplace in the north, I guess not!
I’m assuming this also probably works for mud if you off-road as well
so handaome detailer ☺️😇wow
The cat litter can be used to get traction if stuck in the snow.
Looking a bit sun burnt there pal 😎👍🏻
Mitch: Detailer, best person, quality carpet inspector.
Lol yeah
Love seeing your sexy socks! Always fun to see which ones you’re wearing. Thanks!!!
How did you realise that you wanted to be a car detailer? I love all the transformations, keep up the awesome work!
Wow this shiny white on the rims looks awesome 😍
do you remove liscense plates for the owner's privacy or to clean behind them or something else?
I know down here in Wisconsin many of us will carry cat litter in case we get stuck in mud, snow or ice. Also my brothers keep some around incase they get oil or anything on their driveways while working on cars. 🤷♀️
How many vehicles do you detail each week
Have you ever thought to remove the entire carpet from the car when its a really dirty car? Because some of the dirt and grime can get underneath it.
Does anybody know where he gets his background music from?
I’m going through rough times right now. This video (and your others) offer an escape. Also, when I see other detailers, I think, “they’re not doing it right.” Comparing them to you LOL Keep up the great work, and I can’t wait to hear more on your good news! (No spoilers)
Lol I did the same...I just stopped watching coz the oak didn't do it properly ... or shall I say like Mitch!
You only wash 1 car a week or several? Thanks
Great work as always!! I wish the customer would have opted for a full paint correction...this paint was just begging for it!!
I THINK YOU NEED STAINLESS CLOTHES👍❤️
Why do you wear a respirator the whole time?
How do you clean your equipment?
Hi Mitch I love your channel and i love all of your car detailing videos and I love all of your car detailing transformations and I can't wait for This Epic Studio:)
Hey Mitch,
The Jeep looks great!!!♥️
As Always Amazing!!!💕💖😎
16:47 Thanks! I was just wondering if an impact driver would be an option. Now I know it’s not!!
Also, you do a lot of water dilution with your chemicals to adjust their strength or make them last longer. Have you posted a product list along with the solution strength for each type of surface you use it on? I’m about to sell a truck and I’d like to give it a good cleaning first, but I don’t want to overdue the mixture strength when it isn’t necessary.
Thanks again!!
Caught the sun a bit did ya? 🥵 lol
Do you know anything to help remove nail polish from leather car seats my sister in law took my car without permission and she spilled it in my car I was super furious and I’m hoping to save my seat in stead of getting a new one since it’ll be a year before she can replace my seat if it can’t be saved I tried nail polish remover but it’s so hard and dry it’s not coming out
Love how Canadians get freaked out over things like knives and other weapons.
Not just Canadians. Having a knife in your car/vehicle is not normal in most of the world.
@@tanyamartin1388 what part of the world do you live in? Knives are often found in cars. They aren’t always there to kill.
Cat litter is for traction if you get stuck in some melty/icy snow!!! I thought carrying litter was commonplace in the north, I guess not!
Been watching your videos for some time now as well as other detailing guys,, Personally, your attention to detail and love for your work and results should be the standard that all others are judged by.. Great work !!!!!
A true 2-3 stage polish/buff with a rupes and the compound they sell would take minimum 2 days. Plus a OP ceramic coating takes 12 hours to cure. We assure 90% scratch removal and a 3-5 year warranty. I’d stick to the details aspect if I were you unless you plan on really doing thorough buffing work.
'Cause I'm back
Yes, I'm back
Well, I'm back
Yes, I'm back
Well, I'm back, back
Well, I'm back in black
Yes, I'm back in black...
Fuck, now i want a 2007 jeep
I watch the concentration in your face everytime I watch from the UK. I hope you charge your customers, to compensate your very hard work. It's a joy to watch.
I love these types of videos especially because of what you can pull out of the interiors of these cars. Great job Mitch!!
Mitch, you are an auto-detailing wizard !!! INCREDIBLE, Brother... just incredible !!!
