I can see this model being discontinued in Canada after another 2 model years. The CX-3 is a good little commuter vehicle and does offer enough functionality for consumers. The CX-30 is the better overall packaged model between the two. I don't think people will even notice the CX-3 missing when it finally gets the axe. The CX-30 does a better job at the same thing, just in a larger shell.
@@OMGWTFLOLSMH if they slash the price a couple of thousand dollars or even a few thousand off the base price, then I think Mazda has a good opportunity to move more units here in Canada. I agree with Andrea on that point. The CX-3 is a good subcompact utility vehicle that unfortunately I think will only be available for maybe 2 to 3 more years before Mazda finally axes it completely.
The back floor is not set, it is can be removed for a deeper and bigger storage area. They don't show that correctly, and the flex is great. Great empty nester vehicle. The companies are not making many small cars any more.

Good honest review! I leased a 2019 CX-3 in GS AWD trim and got a good deal on it using Carcost Cda ($2.5K off MSRP & 0% lease rate) but after a year I gave it up (glad someone took over the lease). Nice design inside & out, drove and handled well (AWD), agile & nimble fun zippy car easy to park but found engine too buzzy, noisy cabin (lots of engine, tire & road noise), too small (cramped rear legroom & tight cargo area), tiny gas tank (45L) and most of all, harsh bumpy and jarring ride (too stiff suspension torsion rears didn’t help). Switched to a Mazda 3 which was cheaper, better engine, more quiet cabin, more refined & updated tech, slightly larger gas tank, better handling & ride (more comfy) and better space (esp rear legroom).
I was told that Mazdas have issues with the anti-pollution system and the electric components are problematic and hard to correct. Any issues with those?
Look at this back in 2016, liked the front dash area but I thought the rear seat foot room and cargo area was terrible, ended up purchases a 2016 Soul SX instead. However, a year ago I traded that Soul in for the CX-30 GS as I was so impressed with the high quality finish and addressing the problems with the CX-3.
Mazda CX-3 are EVERYWHERE in Australia. I’m 20 and bought the LE Maxx sport and I love it. Very common amongst people my age and a little further in their 20’s.
Cheap on insurance, cheap on gas for commuting. Win win for me. If I got one my insurance drops down to $116 Canadian a month from $140 for my 2015 mazda3.

Not sure if this was an honest or just an uninformed take. The pricing on the 3 CX3 models in Canada are as follows: GX- under$24,075k GS-$26,775K GT$33,075k. You guys were driving the top line of the CX3 (GT) and trying to compare to convince people to just buy a lower model Mazda 3, insinuating of huge price differences. The Mazda 3 h/b current prices are: GX $23,875k GS $26,225k and GT$33,875k (only one with a turbo). As you can see if you compared apples to apples the CX3 GX actually comes in slightly cheaper than the Mazda 3 sport GX. The other models come in very similar to their counterpart. As well, why put a Hyundai in the same category as a Mazda? Please do better. Many folks rely on reviews to make their final decision, at least you can give them a fair comparison.
Andrea: "At least you can adjust." hahahahahahahahahaha.. Andrea has the greatest lines... I still like driving manual cars.. My last car, a 2015 Cadillac ATS Coupe, I ordered it with the manual tranny.. I loved it..
Here we get the Active and Dynamic in manual and automatic. If the auto lights isn't a priority, the Active is your choice. If it is I would recommend the Dynamic. As the Individual and Hikari just seems like a massive step up, as is R58000 and R67000. It is beautiful, but with needs analysis and the SUV shape, give me the CX-5, as the boot space is literally twice as big with the, would go for the Active which is cheaper than the most expensive CX-3, and the Dynamic is about R30000 more for the CX-5. If boot capacity is for me, myself and I. The CX-3 is perfect. The CX-30 doesn't look bad, but why would I pay basically the same for it as the CX-5 and not enough boot capacity with the size.
When Mazda CX3 was just introduced like 7 years ago, I saw one parked right next to my golf MK5. They have almost identical height, length and ground clearance. And one was a hatchback and they called the other one crossover.
Interesting points on price, this starts at 21731.00 USD (did the conversion) in New Zealand, wonder if that changes the equation, CX30 starts a lot higher here
Same price differential in Finland. The CX-30 starts at a much higher price point than the CX-3. I talked to a salesman at the local Mazda dealership. I was a bit surprised to find that the CX-30 was their best selling vehicle.

Plenty comfortable for 2…. Good power, really good handling. Don’t regret it. I’m not into CVT transmissions or turbo powered engines. Interior finish is better than what I’ve seen in KIA and Hyundai.
I like it too. If Mazda lowered the price so it's more affordable, they could sell quite a few of these. It's a great vehicle especially for the city but it's priced way too high.
Advantage of this car, if your indoor garage not wide enough and you have to fit bicycle on the side of it. this is the only car your can do it vs others cannot though.
We test drove this before we ended up getting a hatchback impreza. It is so buzzy. The subaru is so much smoother. The ride quality is better, more cabin room, AWD etc etc.
People underestimate how much sound dampening the 5th gen Impreza has. It's not the quietest but it has a good blend of isolating engine, wind and road noise. When you hear one go by, they're fairly quiet on the outside as well.
Thanks for another spectacular car review. This definitely is beginning an exciting market (albeit not for me). I do like this Mazda’s style. One miss for me is the giant tach, which is fine on my Porsche... but rather pointless on a 2 litre automatic crossover utility. But they do look stylish.
In my country the CX3 is expensive. The same price as a RAV4. The Cx30 is also the same price as a CX5 which are into Fortuner territory, nearly at Hylander prices.
Spot on with the review. I briefly had a 2018 Yaris iA which is basically just this in sedan form with an ugly Toyota grill grafted on. I liked the interior quality and driving dynamics compared to other little cars. The back seat was so small we only used it for our dog. It only makes sense to buy if you want fuel economy and don't use the back seat. But even then, there are other options where you can get more for your money.

That back seat is toight! Like a Tyger! I never understood why Mazda came to market with this vehicle. They should bring the CX-7 to the North American market.
The back seat _is_ tight for taller people but I rarely have people in the back so the space would not be a deal breaker. My main complaint is that the ride is too firm and the cabin is too noisy. If I were buying one I'd go right to the CX-5. Much more vehicle for not much more money.
You mentioned the Civic as an alternative. I would much prefer the upcoming Civic Hatchback over this SUV. The Sport Touring trim of the Honda hatch should be several thousand cheaper, plus you get the utility of a hatchback, and with a good set of tires, will get most people through the winter driving season. I don’t care for the HRV that was shown as an alternative. That vehicle is essentially a Fit that they’ve added AWD to and charged a good 5 to 10 grand more for, on a 20 grand entry level car.
The CX3 is a true subcompact 'SUV' whereas the Mazda 3 and Civic are true compacts. The CX30 is kind of a tweener between a subcompact and compact. But I agree you are paying SUV prices for this vehicle when it is really just a raised up Mazda 2. Kind of in the same vein as the Subaru Impreza and Crosstrek. I personally find that one sits way too low in cars of today compared to cars from 10+ years ago. That alone pushed me to want to look into a SUV. Are car companies trying to differentiate cars from SUV's by making people sit lower in cars?
The big mystery about the CX-3 is why it hasn't been discontinued in Canada as it has been in the US. Did Mazda simply forget to announce the CX-3 would be dying in Canada?

I was really excited when I heard about the launch of this car years ago. When I sat in one, I was so disappointed. Bottom line is this car is too small.
I think it looks better than the 3. I am not a fan of the appearance of the 3 hatch but the CX-30 is the one to compare to the 3 hatch, same platform, and again, I think the CX-30 looks better.
Review? Mazda hater and vandeta in action! Don't you dare give Honda Hatchback that's even more underpowered as alternative, Mazda3 hatch and CX30 are only logical alternatives here. It ok , for oldest Mazda model being Mazdas least expensive and very old by now.

It's a great concept but too tight inside. I'm under six feet tall and can barely fit
So buy a CX5...
I was really excited when I heard about the launch of this car years ago. When I sat in one, I was so disappointed. Bottom line is this car is too small.
My 2017 VW Golf with 200 ft pounds torque just blows these new buggies into the weeds.
Yeah and you have crap reliability.
You can get wireless apple car okay for 50 bucks
This is gone in the UK as well.
Thanks for the "translation". LOL
Not even a facelift, I will totaly pass
I made $90K last year and I don’t even think I can afford a Kicks 🤣
Mazda killed this car when they designed the new 30. Why anyone would buy this over the 30 I do not know.
Or even the CX-5, which isn't all that much more money.
$33000 for an underpowered slush box.
LOL @it's a little bit unloved. :)
148 bhp from a 2.0l? Pretty weak effort. A 2.0l Camry engine makes 200 bhp!
There's no reason to get this over the Mazda 3 hatch.
I think it looks better than the 3. I am not a fan of the appearance of the 3 hatch but the CX-30 is the one to compare to the 3 hatch, same platform, and again, I think the CX-30 looks better.
CX 30 is AWD AND TURBO
this needs a redesign🥱
did you even listen/watch the video???
@@seang3538 … no 😭
❤️❤️❤️❤️
It can't be to expensive
I might be in love with Andrea. Is that ok?
Mazda need a complete overhaul of their name scheme. CX-3, 30, 5.......
The CX-30 should have been named the CX-3 and the CX-3 should have been dropped when the CX-30 came out.
All these cars will be gone soon the next boat anchor here.
Review? Mazda hater and vandeta in action!
Don't you dare give Honda Hatchback that's even more underpowered as alternative, Mazda3 hatch and CX30 are only logical alternatives here.
It ok , for oldest Mazda model being Mazdas least expensive and very old by now.
They both love Mazdas, the CX-3 is the red headed stepchild of the Mazda family though. It's crap compared to their other offerings.
@@OMGWTFLOLSMH He is a Honda lover boy , she is lot more objective .
@@OMGWTFLOLSMH ....why any brands least expensive model , after 7 yrs on the market and right before replacement and it will be inferior in comparison to rest of the brands offerings.
Why taking such model and even wasting time and video is beyond me?
At the same time they would not pick Hondas HRV that sucks with CVT and underpowered engine and cheap , cheesy plastics, crappy road dynamics but more interior space (best engineering Honda has to offer😜) I think it is their choice and point to criticize Mazda and not Honda that he loves blindly for some reason... maybe childhoods first car emotions 😘
CX-30 looks much much better
Both my son and I find the our CX-3 is a much more sculptured vehicle. I find the extra big plastic wheel well covers on the CX-30 look really overdone.
Made in Mexico. Whereas CX3’s are made in Japan if that makes any difference.
G.T model offers better
Kona is garbage on the inside. Looks like its made by aliexpress
Botox power!
I say, wait 2 years and buy the Tesla Model 2 for $30k
The “this is for the americans” comment, was unnecessary. We AMERICANS can still understand what your saying even if you have a lousy accent.
