Just a minor clarification - Hestia's power is that she can build twice, but the ADDITIONAL build cannot be on a perimeter space. This means that she can build on the perimeter with her first build and build again in the center.
Ahh, yes, I said that wrong in the video. Thanks for the clarification. I was worried with doing all 30 I'd explain something wrong. Now if UA-cam would introduce a feature to let me tweak that 5 seconds, we'd be golden (and make the video less yellow 😆). I'll add a clarification in the description thought, thanks again.
Better house rules (some are hardcore, some are just "literal readings" of rules): 1. Pink (Starter 10) cards are not playable, unless you're Chaos. 2. You'll break your legs if you go down more than 1 high. You cannot jump off towers, or down 2 at all. Unless you're Chaos with Pan. 3. (Hardcore Optional) - Each person can choose 3 random cards, and decide which to use, then put the other 2 back. Don't tell the other players who they are. Bia is not allowed in this mode. Unsuspecting "passive" gods shine here, like Hera. 4. Aphrodite (A Fro Dye Tee) has Love Triangle. In other words, an enemy can be in love with BOTH of your Aphrodite workers. So instead of "you must be near one Aphrodite" - if two Aphrodites wall near you, you literally can't move. Tough to get this affect of course. 5. Dionysus (Dye Uh Nye Sus) can also force the enemy worker to use their power, like a real full move for them that you control. 6. Hestia can build anywhere (including perimeter), and her power is to optionally build a second time in the interior. 7. For Limus - Gods like Selene can build Domes anywhere. Doesn't require "tower completion". 8. Zeus can move zero spaces for his movement. So can technically just build straight up. 9. All passive powers become non-passive, especially in Hardcore mode. A specific example is Hypnus, who can now decide if/when to hypnotize. Partially so you don't reveal who you are until it is advantageous. Also Limus can allow others to build around her until she decides to stop it. Also also; Bia is pronounced (bee uh), Circe is pronounced (Sir See), and Dionysus is pronounced (Dye Uh Nye Sus)
Hi there, great idea. I've done options 1 and 3 before (and considered 2). Breaking legs from fall damage seems like it would add a ton of strategy, and also more ways to trap people. I do like keeping powers secret. I agree with you, making passive powers optional can make this more fun. It's such a fun trap to pull out "Actually, you can't move up!!!" on someone at the end game. It does mess with game balance, but hey, it can add some variability. I may have to give some of your other suggestions a go. I especially like playing Aphrodite due to the thematic connection, so doing the Love Triangle seems like a neat twist.
The blue worker in Atlas example he could move diagonically and escape before the player could block blue worker with a second ground floor dome ...correct ..?!
Thanks, it was a pretty fun video to make as I love Santorini. I've thought about doing the Golden Fleece, the only thing that holds me back is I haven't enjoyed playing it as much. Do you like it more/as much/less than the original?
@@boardgameplays I agree with you, I enjoy playing the base game more than playing with the expansion. The base game is sufficient for me! I asked you because maybe I could change my mind knowing better the god`s powers. Thanks for the answer!
@@GodW1337 I wanted to like the expansion more. I felt like the powers got stronger (meh), and then the hidden information powers were an odd twist for me. That being said, I own it, so maybe I'll give it another shot and fall in love with it.
@@boardgameplaysThe Pantheon Edition is adjusting the game mode so the Fleece will move every turn with the roll of a die. Sounds like an interesting change
That would be a cool video to make. Do you have a favorite power? Unfortunately UA-cam doesn't allow edits on videos that are already out or else I could just pop them on. It would be really fun to talk to some top level players and ask them their opinions. I could give my preference, but I don't know if I really know which ones are the best.

Fantastic video! Super helpful. Thank you
Thanks, one of my favorite pure strategy games!
Explained really well, great job :)
Thanks! I love this game.
Super great explanations!!!!

Any chance of a runthrough of the Golden Fleece`s gods powers ?

It would be great if you would put a ABCDF ranking on each power.

@@boardgameplaysthere is a Santorini discord server with several top and very strong players in there. I posted a link but I guess UA-cam deleted it
What if everyone had every good power at the same time
