    Best cross tutorial out there! This is proper technique, not just swaggy and trying to look cool. Keeping it low is the key that a lot of people (myself inluded) forget to focus on. The hands come naturally for most people, but it's the footwork and keeping your knees low that makes the difference between getting the ball picked and getting wide open. Awesome video dude. Subscribed!!!

    Superhandles, I've gotten pretty good with this crossover and I'm shaking defenders and creating a lot of space when I do it but I seem to have a problem with driving out of the crossover, any advice?

  • @EGarrett01
    @EGarrett01 11 років тому

    One thing that's also really important...you need to be able to go past your man with a simple straight dribble to your left. If you can't do the basic drive, no one will bite on your crossover. And always practice the crossover at the same time as you do your basic drive to the side you're going to fake, so you can study both motions and make sure they look similar.

    Ive got a question Mr. SuperHandles, say that you were crossing someone over. Where do you focus on (their face, rim, their mid section, etc.)? My eyes tend to focus on my defenders mid section. And how many ankles have you broken using this strategy?

    Sigh, damn man this is tough... I've been practicing this move because I'm one of the best shooters and drivers in our school, the problem is that I need to start CREATING my own shot, this is the perfect move but I always bend my arm too much, I gotta get used to stretching it out, away from my body, do you have any tips on how to do that, cuz you literally the ball you were holding was like NBA 2k13.. It was flying in your hands lol, I almost got it but I need help!!! :O

  • @sachdevtruballer
    @sachdevtruballer 11 років тому

    just my 2 cents on footwork..figured this out while watching iverson in slow motion..when crossing from right to left do it with a 1-2 rythm..as in the left foot plants first then the right, and then cross the ball and cross right foot to the left..its like taking 2 small steps to the right faking an explosive drive then cross to the other side..vice versa for left to right crossover..

  • @Kprodigy1

    I think you did a great job of explaining the basics & mechanics of how to do an effective crossover but ive been followin A.i. since Georgetown & studied his crossover feverishly when i was younger & tho your very close to his crossover its not the same. A.i.'s crossover no matter how you look at was a carrying violation, because when he hesitates he pauses causing the defender to freeze then react, NBA refs realized this & thats why they banned it but other than that perfect tutorial.

    Hey SuperHandles , I've been practicing my own crossovers . The crossover i've been practicing is where I fake to my right then crossover to my left then I quickly dribble between my legs slightly leaning to the right again then crossover back to the left . I have NEVER used this crossover in a game but do you think it would be effective ? I've actually been mixing things up in my crossover but I'm still practicing .

    Good to see you back! I am currently in highschool and want to tryout for the basketball team.
    I'm 5'5 :( and cant hold the ball with one hand -.- I was wondering if you are coming out with any new dvds to help highschool players learn step by step drills to get better at controlling and dribbling in real game situations. I saw on your site you have a highschool program. just wondering if you were comin out with something new or recommend something else. thx!

U cant just go thru ghe motions thinkn its gonna work. Good job u got skills...

    For any of the people working on their crossover I find that it is best if you video yourself doing it. It might seem convincing but you don't know exactly what the opponent is seeing, so grab a camera and tape yourself so you can perfect the move.

    Work on your explosiveness. This is coming from a normal guy, so don't expect it to work. Try running up a hill. Run up 50 meters, walk back down, Run up 100, and keep on working up. This will really work your calves. Try to find a steep one.
