15:24 Oh my god I never realized it was the _same_ video, that makes sense! Also, completely went over my head the stuff about the tape and what the "they're good in Supply" meant. Sometimes I'm dumb lmao. The reveal at the end genuinely BLEW MY MIND! I'm so glad I watched the entire show before these reactions, because I did not see that coming at all. I'm so incredibly hyped for season 2, I have so many questions! I wanna thank Mr. Fruit for making a completely out-of-nowhere video talking about this show, which is where I discovered it from.
Me and a lot of other people immediately noticed the repeating birds in episode 2 already, because it was such an obvious pattern. I wonder if we'll see Juliette popping up in front of the camera of other silos and if one of them decides to let her inside, which then will probably connect through the door at the bottom to the other ones, including 18 (assuming that really is the Silo number).
As said, they could use the decontamination chamber to poison you already. So right now, we don't actually 100% know whether the air is truly that toxic or not, regardless of how destroyed the Earth is. Assuming it even applies to the rest of the world, because the flying light that the dude in the cafe saw might've not been a shooting star, but maybe even a plane.
I read the books more than 10 years ago. They are amazing. SF but polar and mysteries at the same time. I forgot a lot of details of the books, but in the series, I think that there is the same ambiance as in the books. The music and the lights are perfect. There will be a second season so I am happy. I don't know if it will be the end of the story (3rd book) or the 2nd book (the story happens before, during 3 or 4 different periods of time, difficult for a series maybe). This trilogy of books is one of my favorite.
The air not actually being bad, or at least not to the levels we would assume it is, is something I'm thinking about as well. When the sheriff took his helmet off, he might've not died from that but from the decontamination already poisoning him. So if he had good seals, he might've been able to breathe? Who knows. Maybe it's still shitty oxygen levels, causing other issues, but you wouldn't immediately die or not even in the near future. Maybe you'd just be oxygen deprived and weak and develop health issues from that over time. I know he took the helmet off to be able to see his wife, since the bodies aren't actually visible inside the virtual display, but it seems still a little odd to add that as a detail when he could've also just found her from touching around the ground. It's a little like they added that on purpose. Either way, I'm generally curious what happened to their world. The silos clearly must've been created before it so they must have known it would end. So maybe something like a big impact that torched the surface, similar to when the dinosaurs died? It's something you could potentially detect early enough to make such preparations. I'm just wondering why they would go with such tech and keep everyone at such a low tech level, when they clearly have pretty advanced technologies - probably a bit more advanced than our world. In regards to the driving someone to suicide thing, look up the case of Conrad Roy and his girlfriend Michelle Carter. Absolutely sickening case. But yeah. I think Juliette popping up on the screens of another Silo, or even multiple, is very likely, because one of them HAS to let her go back inside, right? Unless she is supposed to die out there after causing a bunch of ruckus and rebellion from walking in front of various silo cameras, introducing other characters to us. The mines don't make sense to me either though. They can hardly go sideways, because they would immediately dig into another silo or their mine. But I'm not sure it makes sense to dig down either, because then it must be beneath the big digger, which is already filled with what I'd presume is ground water? The author clarified on the platform formerly known as Twitter about Bernard knowing about the door or not, so minor spoiler ahead if you want to know the answer to his reaction, otherwise stop reading here: He did not. Which means he may or may not know about the other silos either.
@@Morskoy915 Then what's the point of showing how it used to be to people who go outside ???? if they are going to be dead what purpose in misleading them into seeing how it used to be serves tp start with ? so they would clean???? on the other hand why does it matter if they clean or not ?
@@Berndr Sending someone to clean the camera as a job would risk lots of things, giving them a fake peaceful scene means most people will clean the cameras, believing the people inside could see the green forest the same as them (remember that the show made a point to show that this generation has NO concept of video).
We did notice the birds so figured out that the display was fake. And noticed that bodies weren’t in the display. I thought the air tank was actually poisoning them so I had thought taking off the helmet was a good thing. But yeah, either the air is still bad or the spray is poisoning them. Do they pack any water or food for them?? Or just assume they’ll die in minutes? Did they used to use good tape but then switch to bad tape so they’d die? Or did they not realize it was bad tape? Judge Meadows was missing from the last few episodes. What’s going with her? Is she dying? I hope we see Lucas the Star man again. He was a good character. I didn’t trust Bernie for most of the episodes and then I was *just* thinking he might be trustworthy when he brought her to the cornfield. Nope. Definitely not.
The whole proceeding has the feeling of a ritual (the measuring, even though they already know her size because they made her uniform a week before, the visits, the speeches), so I wouldn't be too surprised if they sent each person out with huge oxygen reserves, and maybe even food and water as a symbolic stuff for their "passage" to death, but if the air is bad outside, it means she can't ear or drink, because that would require removing the helmet.
Why would they throw out some pretty dang good VR headsets out every 2 months for hundreds of years tho. Doesn't make sense. Also where are the corpses before allison and holston?

as someone who's currently reading the books, I have to say: you're asking all the right questions ^^
Assuming the city is Atlanta too because of the relic book but that’s a wild guess
It's probably Atlanta yeah
We know the air is not good because the previous sheriff died after he removed his helmet.
That could have been from the spray though, not necessarily the outside air

What I don’t get is if the display is a lie why would it randomly be displayed for that brief second on the big screen when the power got turned off?
What if they used to display how things used to be before the apocalypse, but after rebellion decided that it incited too much desire to go outside

Since you asked about an Asian buffet... I'm a whore for garlic broccoli. 😜
