    Tony, their brilliant drummer, used Ringo’s drums here, but used his own snare drum, which was on a very steep angle.
    You can see when they finished, the drummer changes his snare over for Ringo’s and removes the Sounds Incorporated sign on the bass drum..

    This is gold. Wonderful to see. Loved Sounds Inc since raiding my Dad's record collection as a kid in the 60s/70s.

    Can we all appreciate how much distortion there was on this concert from guitar amps? George had his most brutal lead sound ever and so did Sounds Incorporated from what I heard. Absoulte brutal lound Vox mayhem.

    These guys were really good and tons of fun. Never had a record released in the USA for some reason. Shows the depth of the fantastic music scene in Liverpool in the early 60s.

      The various members were from the Kent area, and London: Barnes, and Dartford.
      Thanks.

    If the Beatles needed a temporary drummer during this Australian tour, why didn't they just use Tony Newman?

    • @_-_Michael_-_
      @_-_Michael_-_ Рік тому

      That’s a really good idea! But they needed somebody they know and not just random great Player. Jimmy Nicol came from George Martin using him on sessions done by Brian Epstein so he was known to the producer and manager. Tony had better chops, but Nicol was chosen. Rest is history.

      When Jimmy Nicol auditioned for them, they very soon discovered he knew all of Starr's parts.
      Nicol was a session musician, and he'd played them on the lp cover versions that were cheaper to buy.
      For one drummer to play everything, every night, weeks on end, should have been asking a tremendous amount of one musician's stammina.

    For the opening number, '(Sounds like Locomotion '), try finding on here the more controlled, yet consequently more poweful, dominating live, sax-led version Incorporated played in Germany, with what I take it, the most magnificently nonchalent, arms-folded German wench, next to Baz on the keyboards.
    (' 'Oh dear, these British people have changed so ! much since we left Nöel (Coward), and the owwld country behind. Such a shame ! '').

    Think the sound bloke needed to crank up the sax mic on that first number you can hardly hear them

    Mike Williams need look no further for the guys who REALLY were playing all those Beatles tracks in the studio. Sounds Inc. may well have been The Beatles´ Wrecking Crew!

      The sax players were on “Good Morning Good Morning” from Sgt Peppers, otherwise it’s a big NO!
