I have no idea if you've ever considered it, but you'd be a fantastic tv announcer/show host. Crystal clear pronunciation, great expressions, lovely vocal tone 🥰
This year, I have two separate colour schemes for my capsule wardrobe. Pink/grey/blue/white for spring and summer and brown/red/beige/mustard for autumn and winter. I am Dark Autumn, but I couldnt commit to Dark Autumn colour palette all year round. It is so much fun to change things around every now and then!
I would like to learn about developing "seasonal colour schemes" so, yes - please make a video about that. I discovered your channel during all of our lockdowns in Melbourne, Australia. It has been a delight for me to learn how to fine-tune my wardrobe. Thank you for all of your hard work in making these lovely videos.
Your Pinterest idea is spot on. I've had a running Dress to Impress board that has spring/summer & fall/winter sections, and I've been narrowing them down based on what I would ACTUALLY wear, based purely on vibes, not a specific color scheme, and I went to check now and everything I have lines up EXACTLY with the scheme I just thought us (Black, White, Green, Blue, Yellow, Chocolate Brown occasionally)
I like simplicity. Starting with the 3 Neutrals and adding 2 others flattering colors a starting pointing for the year round wardrobe. My core color remains Navy, with blues being what this Summer is most often complimented on. I learned about choosing a Core wardrobe when I read Emily Cho. Working on an afghan which is giving me colors to select, like yellow and teal, for seasonal wardrobes.
Great advice. For example, purples are supposed to be “good colors” on me, but I never feel great in them, so I’ve stopped buying clothes in them. Beige is supposed to be a No, but I love it and wear it. I think it helps to go out in natural light and hold the color near the face. Then look at how it changes the skin, eyes, etc., emphasizing shadows and lines, making it look off, etc. or making it glow. Look at your face, not the color, then decide. My must-have color is white. If I’m not sure at shops, I ask to take an item just outside the door, then look in a little purse mirror, the lighting inside can make grays look green or blue, etc. They always say yes, but watch me.
I had my colors done when I was a teenager. There was no purple or grey in Autumn back then. The list has been updated and I can wear a gun metal grey and a grape purple.
Amazing video, thank you so much ! I love your take on " it's OK not to like the colors from your season, wear what you like and makes you feel good " ! Love it, from a deep autumn who love pastels ahah !
This is excellent!! Great tips! I like that you emphasize colors that feel good to US or feedback that we’ve received, as opposed to a system that gives you a set palette. I understand that many people have benefited from getting their colors done, but I prefer your approach. Thank you! ❤️
WOW…cannot believe I found this video! Denim, olive green, black, khaki, chocolate brown & cream - these are my colors…I don’t like many prints although I love plaid/checks…but I basically like solids (although great graphic tees are ALWAYS a fav) and then add fun, colorful, unique accessories (scarves, hats/caps, jewelry).
I think you most resemble the True Autumn as described by The Concept Wardrobe, although yes, your skin has a neutral to warm tone that seems to be more Soft Autumn. ☺️
A great video - thank you. I love those colours you are wearing, so pretty and autumnal! I’d say with your beautiful hair that you are definitely an Autumn - warm / soft Autumn. I’m a Spring so a lot of Autumn colours suit me as well. I love green - I have hazel green eyes - and it’s a colour people notice me in too. 👍. Would love videos on this topic as you’re so good at explaining it.
Enjoyed your video. My thoughts: Study one's "body colors" and think "Match or Contrast". Example: I have amber brown eyes, so I might look for things I wear near eyes, say a scarf, with amber/bronze and/or contrasting colors such as teal or plum, or a print incorporating some or all of them. I used to have very dark hair with bronzy highlights, but it is now "champagne grey", so I don't look as good in Camel as I used to, preferring Taupe, Olive, or Charcoal jackets now, even though my veins are green and my SkinTone "warm". For reds I think, "is this a lipstick color I'd look great in, or not? I think pants are easiest kept black or denim, with exceptions... So I no longer accept/practice a pure "seasonal color theory", but it did help me understand wardrobe & makeup colors better.
Thank you so much for this video! I've had a capsule wardrobe for years but recently have been struggling with adding colors that are "supposed to" look good with my skintone (very pale with neutral to warm undertones), but then never wearing them. I think this method will help me narrow down the colors that really work for me ☺☺❤
Great advice! Im a spring but pair my colours with colours that I love thats not in my pallet. Usually it workes best to wear your colours around your face and the rest in a belt, handbag and shoes.
Interesting and useful video! The colour of the top you’re wearing is not in your basic colour scheme, I think - but it definitely looks good on you. And you’re speaking a bit more slowly and carefully this time which is great, as I can now catch every word you’re saying 👏👏
I have red hair, green eyes and copper colored freckles. I’ve always looked best in fall / earth tone colors. Same for two of my sisters who have this same coloring. I’m guessing we are all Autumn
I have a very similar color palette. But I find the way I build it is pretty different from yours. I'm a spring type, so my color palette is warm and light. My favourite color is white and light blue. Then I have black and navy to add contrast, and light beige to compliment. I also have dusty pink and emerald as my accent color. It's so interesting to understand the way others create their own color palette. Thanks for the video
Hi Lauren. I could keep listening to You about these colors scheme. I have done it with my closet, but I just love it. I use a cool colorl scheme but I love orange, but I do think that now that I am using my hair white and I love it, this beautiful orange seems to not go with it. Do you think I can still use it? Please continue with some more videos of colors, love them.
Idk about undertones but I look really good in dark green and yellow so that’s kinda what I just naturally lean to when I’m shopping. I wish I looked good in purple, it’s my favorite color but it just doesn’t look good on my skin tone
I had a color analysis done about 4 years ago and for the most part I stick to it but I still buy certain colors I like but don't look well on me for instance I'm to avoid warm browns and I just love camel brown lol I'm a cool winter so I was told .
Any tips for what to do if you have a piece of clothing in your wardrobe that you really love how it looks on you but it's the only item of a certain color and you probably aren't going to get any more in that color? I have a dress I made myself that is a cream base (which is in the colour pallet) but the large print on it is a greenish yellow and I only have it and 1 other item that have yellow in them, it's not a colour I normally go for and isn't in the palette I made for my wardrobe
You look fabulous in the colours you’re wearing. I’d agree you are an Autumn. I’m a muted Autumn. You do you & wear what you love but black isn’t an Autumn colour.. I can see why you get complimented in navy as it’s much softer & more suited to us

I am an deep autumn too, may I know if grey is included in our palette? It isn't included in my colour swatch

Speaking of color..you look amazing in that blouse! I love that rusty red color!
It's also fun to decorate with colors that flatter your skintone! 💐
Yes to the freedom in choosing the colors that you want to wear!
Our Mom treated my sister and I to a Color Me Beautiful analysis 40 years ago and I have always found it useful.
You look great in the colors you are wearing in your video…add burgundy (the florals) to your color palette!

Just found your channel Lauren. I'm so glad I did. Great video! Looking forward to seeing more
Thank you for using diversity in your examples ❤

Loved your intro into colors. Would love to see how you apply the color scheme to choosing outfits.

Great advice! Im a spring but pair my colours with colours that I love thats not in my pallet. Usually it workes best to wear your colours around your face and the rest in a belt, handbag and shoes.
Thank you... do share a part 2 of this.
Great video, you articulated your points very well. Thanks so much for the help!
Thanks so much for this! Love from the U.K. x

Nr. 1 again!!!
Love your Videos...:)
How specific are your colors? For example is it THAT green or greens in general or dark greens? Does beige include taupe or brown or off white?
My colours Black,blue,and green ❤️❤️❤️❤️Love from Zambia🇿🇲
Idk about undertones but I look really good in dark green and yellow so that’s kinda what I just naturally lean to when I’m shopping. I wish I looked good in purple, it’s my favorite color but it just doesn’t look good on my skin tone

I love this video Lauren! It was super helpful ❤️
I love navy and beige on you.🔥
I like this topic!!
Your veins are like mine. Your definitely a neutral although you may prefer certain colors you can wear any as long as it’s not too dark.

Am i wrong or is the dress you are wearing not in your colour scheme?
It looks like it's part of her 'Cold weather color scheme'
