Excellent job 👍👍. I just did mine last weekend and I went with the tapping up everything method (plastic and painters tape)👎. I still got a lot of leakage on to my rear window🤦🏻‍♂️ still. So I would recommend the brush or roller method like he just showed us. I washed and dried the car outside, applied the 303 in the garage and then put it outside (not under trees) back facing the sun to bake. Them in the garage over night and mesmerizing results🎉.
Keep up the good work, I appreciate all your videos (at least the boxster and the garage builds I don’t need another German taxed car (BMW😉)).

i did mine yesterday.. I cleaned the top with the cleaner and horse hair brush you recommended. Then even though I had the roller, I ended up not using it.. just sprayed it on and then spread the Fabric Guard with my hands while wearing disposable nitrile gloves. I just closed the roof with puppy pads / newspapers in between the windshield and the rear cover, and taped off any the plastic moulding. It wasn't too bad.. was difficult getting the small narrow section below the rear window, but i don't think the roller would've made that any easier..
I'll try the roller next time since I have it.

Double u TF roller :) The 303 is good, but I stopped using it. The pump spray bottle is a pain and makes application very patchy. Best is to get Porsche's pressure spray can.

@helpmediy How do you clean the soft top in between the semiannual clean and waterproof/protect times? Do you use the 303 cleaner or does that wash off the protectant?

Hey Aaron, Did this today, and the roller is a genius idea. The top looked great after using the cleaner, but I've got some streaking after applying the Protector with the roller. I was very careful applying it, and trying to not overlap too much. Any ideas how I might even things out?
I love all the videos, and they've helped greatly on my Boxster journey.

+Jonathan L no I don’t. I tend to stick to the theory of going with a company that does some thing really well. Porsche makes great cars, but I leave car cleaning products to the professionals in that field.

Great video! Thank you for making it! QUESTION: I washed/claybared and waxed my car for the first time a few weeks ago. Do you know if the chemicals in the convertible top cleaner will strip the wax off the paint? (when I'm spraying it off with a hose, the chemicals will run down onto the body work). Hopefully it doesn't....was a lot of work to wax it. lol!

    • @HelpMeDIY

+Mitch Lewis just let the chemicals fully dry before getting the top wet and you will be fine!

303 Fabric guard is terrible stuff!!! Used on my Boxster roof after cleaning with the 303 cleaner and put the car away in my garage for around a week, then got caught in the rain recently only to find out it had zero effect and was no different to what it was like before!!! Thanks Aaron, I did it just the way you recommended and it came out great. I doubt if this top had been sealed in the past 10 years. The previous owner was surprised, he didn't know the top need to be sealed. One more reason Porsche mechanics can't stand Boxster owners!

This was the first time I saw this video from you and It helped me to start thinking about issues I may face if I purchase a Porsche Boxter 718.....have to say this was an awesome video but I do not think I can buy those exact products in Australia but I do have a question for you, what did you do to maintain your leather interior so that it does not not get destroyed or degraded from the rain and sun over the years? eg Seats drying out or fading and or getting hard a well and cracking and not ruining the heat ventilation installation as well ???? Porsche does say not to let the underside of the seats get wet.
