Supposed Former... is a masterpiece.
I love how she sings the second "of course you are" in the choruses, it's incredible.
This album helped me through some of the toughest times of my life. Alanis was my teenage idol. Immensely talented.
This sounds so much like Uninvited and Baba.... i freaking love it.
Tolu S. sometimes I can't believe a song with so few cords can go torso many places in terms of melody.
#god(dess)level
The intervals of the notes from uninvited and this are VERY similar! The first interval is the same on both, goes from 1st do 7th major or minor if I’m not mistaken, uninvited then goes up and this goes down for the 3 note hehe also, I LOVE the sound of the Kurzweil, A TON of artists played it in the 90s, now all I see are Nord Stages lol nothing wrong with it but I miss the unique sound of this keyboard! I own one 😊
Hypnotic. I love this song. Her voice is simply hypnotic. This is one of her best, imo.
There wasn't comercial songs... They were intimate.
Goosebumps....... her voice is hauntingly beautiful
supposed former infatuation junkie was an underated album, it was really good.
I think you have to be a bit emotionally immature to think she is dissign her ex, in fact I think it's clearly her taking the blame for all the things she did wrong in the relationship, which is emotionally mature. Although of course that is not to say the other person wasn't to blame too. I don't see this as a bitter song at all.
It shows the complexities of relationships and makes for a deep song of reflection.
to all these foolios who leave these stupid commits bout this fabulous talented woman I guess U R still mad ....this woman is so lyrical so expressive ..dont just hear her listen to her ...u might just understand this is her this who she is
I love this song....one of my all time faves, and she never fails to do it live
probably what makes Alanis music so good and full of real sorrow and lovingly tasteful voice tones is she writes from what I can gather from a lot of her great lyrics , is personal experiences. Bad ones as well as the good one...even divorce....a true modern day folk writer ....
The 90's will never come again..... too bad I was born in 91.
As she said once, this song is about taking the blame by the end of the relationship instead of only pointing the finger at the other person. It's not a song to empowering women, but admiting her mistakes too.
yes, SFIJ is a special one soo deep and beutiful!! listening to it helpd me out a lot...sigh..i miss that alanis a little but she's still the coolest person in the world!! i wish I could meet her one day..maybe I will!!
I am amazed that I have never told u how amazing and magnificent u are. I am sorry and of course u r amazing and magnificent... Been loving u since I was 16. Proudly almost 40 and next to u every step of the way
A very sad and poignant song. It delves deep down into the real pain of the ending of the relationship.
Thank you Alanis . Inspirou minha obra . Esse ano o mundo vai conhecer ela . Novamente ... obrigado Alana .
Supposed former infatuation junkie was her best album!!!!
And yeah, doesnt look like there will ever be another artist as good or as true as her.

Marillion - Lavender
I was walking in the park
Dreaming of a spark,
When I heard the sprinklers whisper, shimmer
In the haze of summer lawns,
Then I heard the children singing,
They were running through the rainbows.
They were singing a song for you.
Well it seemed to be a song for you,
The one I wanted to write for you, for you, you.
Lavenders blue, dilly dilly, lavenders green,
When I am King, dilly dilly, you will be Queen.
A penny for your thoughts my dear,
A penny for your thoughts my dear,
I.O.U. for your love,
I.O.U. for your love.
Lavenders green, dilly dilly, lavenders blue,
When you love me, dilly dilly, I will love you.
A penny for your thoughts my dear,
A penny for your thoughts my dear,
I.O.U. for your love,
I.O.U. for your love.
Lavender dreams, dilly dilly, lavenders true,
When you missed me, dilly dilly, I did miss you.
A penny for your thoughts my dear,
A penny for your thoughts my dear,
I.O.U. for your love,
I.O.U. for your love
For your love... for your love...
for your love.
Oh, I gotta go back to you,
Gotta find my way back to you.
For your love... for your love...
for your love.
I'm always walking in the park,
Always dreaming of a spark,
From you.
We still have her, but I know there are true musicians out there... Count me as one.
😍🙌
but we do! ...shes still there dude!
Two to go.
Seven to go.
Love your comment it really made me lmfao!!
Happy 25th anniversary SFIJ
I adore JLP but there is nothing out there like SFIJ.
fucking awesome
Is this concert available somewhere?
she has a new album coming out August of 2012
This song is one of the most wonderful and misunderstood I've ever heard. She's dissing herself, not an ex.
i agree with everything posted, but what was with that "of course" part, that's one of the most haunting melodies i love about this song, gone.
totally agree SFIJ is the best...
Esta es musica alanis
@charmed1ify ... How can you call an album that sold millions upon millions underated. Guess we have a different definition of that word. Had it sold 50,000 I might agree.
@WolfgangR5150 Underrated when stood up against Jagged Little Pill. This album was better- but underrated in the sense that it was in the shadow of that album.
@lightofdew Uh, she's not dead....
In the shallow ways, and every other way also
Yes, still mad. Still mad am I.
Finish your training, you did not.
Don't get me wrong -- she's very talented and very hot -- but I am sooooooo glad I'm not an ex-boyfriend! (:
Ésta es para mi ex...
Ya its fall now in the oc cali out just a poem by me see the light hell ya out see the light yes now to see the light on me been thinking of mes and must think more in night were i feel like the light for you my night light now that you got my night light i go to my light in pink sky ill see u in a poem.
This song is not sad at all.
not at all, i'm saying she's hot physically, and in every other way also.
Is it really shallow to think she's an attractive women?
Irritating!
what she wants, which means she isnt seeing his potential, but what she thinks he should be. Also, when she is comparing him to all of her 40 year old friends, that shows what she really wants him to be like. And its kinda creepy that she has so many 40 year old male friends. This fem-nazi song is a horrible way to try and empower women.
