Great job Marion. I always loved Asian fried chicken. When I lived in Taiwan, we used to go to the "QQ" store and buy nugget chicken tossed in basil, garlic, white pepper and salt. So good. I think if you go with a nugget size piece of chicken and have the oil to temp before starting the timer, you will be able to crush that 10 minute goal! :) Thanks for the video and happy cooking, UB
There was a little fried chicken stand in Soi Silom where I stayed in Bangers when I was working there called "OKFC". It was the absolute best fried chicken you could get for 20 baht. This looks exactly like it! Can't wait to give this one a try
@@Shelsight I heard a couple years back that the authorities shut down a lot of the food carts around the area, which is a damn shame. They just couldn't be beat for a cheap, delicious meal. I also loved those fried plantains!
@@ravdawggg yep, my friends whose place i stayed at ssid the same. Such a shame. Amidst all the v swish, expensive restaurants, we loved the authentic street vendor and market stall food, and talking to those who owned them.
I really like this kind of videos you guys are posting. Keep them up! Also looking forward to more Asian-fusion style recipes that I can try cooking :D
I made this (with some variations) and it was so good! I brined my chicken for 24 hours first and didn't have tempura flour so used a combination of self-raising flour and sweet potato flour. The batter method followed by the flour is such a good idea. After frying, the coating remained crisp and didn't soften up. Great reheated in the air fryer too :)
I was rooting for you! HURRAY ! Great to watch your videos so simple to do and looked amazing ! I can also try to cook it in 15 minutes! Why not make more 15 minute challenges ! :D seems fun 😀😀
I love watching your videos. I’m learning to cook SEA region dishes from you only. I was looking for this kind of chicken recipe too. You heard me. It’s okay if you couldn’t keep up with time. It’s still a quick recipe. Still serves the purpose.
Hi Marion, love the Thai Fried Chicken. the "guy" who introduced the chilli to Thai shores in the 15th century was Portuguese traders (my Portuguese compatriot, VASCO DA GAMA )came to the Eastern world to do business. They disembarked at several port cities in the Middle East, India and Malaga. They reached Thailand -- then Siam -- during the early Ayutthaya period. By the way TEMPURA, was brought to Japan by Portuguese missionaries. The frying method is believed to have originated sometime in the 1600s as a meal to eat during Lent, a time when it is customary to forgo eating meat. I enjoy your cooking videos, thank you.
Marion, Googling herself: "Am I known for my chicken recipes? Is that all I am to you?" Also Marion: (And I wouldn't have it any other way. I love these! Thank you!)
One of my friend suggested to check this fried chicken video n i just love all ur videos! Love the simplicity of ur cooking style Can’t stop watching them thank u so much will definitely try those crispy thai fried chicken xx
Love the recipe…we made it with chicken legs and thighs. I also added some fried onion to my garlic marinade. We truly enjoyed it. Definitely recommend this recipe ❤
Hi Marion, thanks for another wonderful recipe. I tried this one yesterday and it was quite simple to follow and was absolutely delicious!!! I do want to ask you what type of oil you use for deep frying... Vegetable oil can be so many different types, i often use Canola Oil. what did you use when making this one? Best wishes, Mark.
Yes, the Coconut Sriracha sauce is spicy! :P I found a way to survive it, though :) For example, with battered fish, I mix tartare sauce with the Coconut Sriracha sauce. It gets toned down slightly but brings out the coconut :)
Hey Miss Fried Chicken! That was fun. Thank you!! Definitely going to make this. After "mise en plase" I will attempt the 10 min. Mark just for fun. I will let you know how it went. BTW as others have said, 15min. Was close enough and you are a riot to watch!!! Thank you!
Losing pounds before the holidays. Losing them before gaining them back plus a few more! This fried chicken just went to the top of my list of dinner making. 🤤🍗
I was expecting a few more flavours than this to be honest. Does look nice though, but I think I’ll stick to my Chinese salt & chilli chicken. Not tasted a fried chicken recipe that comes to close to it yet. Absolute heaven.
OMGOSH. Could Gordon R learn from you. I don’t fry anything. That’s generally the reason for reservations. However, when I get my Wok (thank you, Santa Claus) I may have to break my rule!! 10 minute prep, even with giggles.
I'm living in Europe right now and besides KFC (which is very common). Korean fried chicken is the most popular and the best taste in my opinion since they have like a tons of sauce. Never tried Thai's style yet but def want to👍
I loved your story on the history of chilli, Marion. Maybe you could make an 'Old World or New World?' game at your production team Christmas party where people have to guess which ingredients originated in Eurasia/Africa and which in the Americas. Or you could give Dax some homework and get him to read: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Columbian_exchange I also love that you didn't reshoot this video when you missed your 10-minute deadline. That's honesty right there!
You are so lovely Marion. Your food is delicious , you are funny and I think your crew love you x x x x Nothing wrong with 15 minute fried chicken x x x
I'm gutted that this didn't work out but there was no way it was gonna cook in10 mins with cold oil. If you said 10 min chicken and had the oil hot like most chefs do on UA-cam I'm from the UK and been a chef for 26yrs, I had the honour of being able to work in a Indian restaurant, being a non Indian I couldn't turn down a once in a lifetime experience. So most people when making a hot curry like the authentic phall and vindaloo😉😉 authentic only if your a white western, living in the uk, you will see copious amount of chilli's being used, Which will give you a chilli type dish, white and black pepper is what you want for that real heat in the back of your throat. If you can try to get Lampong long peppercorn it's awesome heat and taste is epic
Marion, one of my beautiful and favorite friends❤this is a food item where I am so challenged because it’s got to be tender and juicy inside and very crispy and crunchy on the outside ❤I can really use your expertise on this one! Thank you my dear friend ❤
As we say 10 minutes Jamaican time, you can say 10 minutes thai time, which gives you a 10 minute extension phew! OR you can say 10 minutes prep and 10 minutes cooking time!
Always a joy to watch. Your laughter is contagious 🤪🤪

I will most definately try this recipie. 😋😋
I would count it a win since you had to wait for the oil to heat up. I think that time shouldn’t count! 😂
In my opinion, and all thing’s factored in, it was 10 minutes. Looks great!
That drum sound effect at 05:19 had me laughing so hard
Beautiful Marion!❤ Sending you love always.😊
I was expecting a few more flavours than this to be honest. Does look nice though, but I think I’ll stick to my Chinese salt & chilli chicken. Not tasted a fried chicken recipe that comes to close to it yet. Absolute heaven.

Do you have a range hood that comes down on the island? I'd imagine with all the stir frying you do that's necssary?
