I love how they say "I celebrate you and you celebrate me" as their voices drop 😂😂 Aaliyah was supposed to be Jordin Sparks character, but Whitney and production cancelled the film after Aaliyah's tragic passing. I remember when this film came out shortly after Whitney had passed and it felt so weird and off. They promoted this film, but it was not the same without Whitney. In the film you heard her voice coming back. Before Whitney's death, there were reports that she had vocal surgery with a doctor that fixed Adele's vocals and that Whitney was making a comeback. But it never materialized. Allegedly many people argue that she was getting her life right with Christ because she no longer wanted to be in the industry no more and felt that her time was coming allegedly.

Glad you enjoyed this one. This has been on my gym playlist since it came out. The movie did come out about 6 months after Whitney’s death. Not a dry eye in the theater when I saw it. Just a fun positive song to get ya movin. Definitely see the movie. If you liked Waiting to Exhale, then I think you’ll like Sparkle more, since the theme is music based.

Sparkle is a movie from the 70s. Curtis Mayfield wrote all of the songs. The cast sang it in the movie but Aretha Franklin sang them on the soundtrack.

Yes, The remake movie came out in 2012, Months after Whitney passed.
It was in development since 2000. Aaliyah was supposed to have Jordin Sparks' role.
"Celebrate" was one of the new songs written for the remake, Unfortunately, written by R Kelly. It was first posthumous single for Whitney. Whitney passed before she could film a video for the song. It was also the last song Whitney recorded before she died.
Jordin is one of my favorite artists. The movie is originally from the 80s, but they did it a reboot in 2012 before Whitney died

I was only watching this movie because of whitney Houston and yes this was released after her death
They sound really good together. I have never seen the remake movie. I have seen the original movie which is very good. This song, the sound & spirit of it brings to mind Whitney's songs with Geogia Mass Choir on the Preacher's Wife soundtrack. It's very uplifting & as the name suggested celebratory. I have my reasons why I haven't watched the remake movie, but maybe I will one day.🌟
I watched just to see if Jack would talk over the “we love you Whitney” part. He did. And yes, the song was unfinished at the time of Whitney’s death and finished posthumously. These vocals weren’t meant for the final version, but it’s what she left behind.
