So glad this one is finally done!
I'm sorry the art is a little inconsistent throughout the video, though I guess that was bound to happen with the sheer number of assets I had to draw this time, whew
In any case, while it's not perfect, I think it turned out pretty fun and I hope you'll enjoy the video!!

So I googled hack writer looking for this song and found out that it's an actual term referring to someone hired to write for close deadlines and paid by quantity not quality. This makes me think that the writer keeps missing deadlines because they want to refine their work and make it beautiful, but gets so wrapped up in it that they dont finish in time and have to suddenly pull a bunch of all-nighters to get a paycheck. To me at least, the "learned no lesson" line makes a lot more sense when you think of it like this.
That's interesting.
Good to know lol
Another fan fact! In Russia that person called ” the literary n-"
@@0mccloud065
The literary n? Why is it called that?
@@rpcsa8 something historical, I suppose
the latin is from Catallus 16, a notoriously filthy latin poem whose translation wasn't released to the general public until the 20th century because of its content. people often claimed that all writing in ancient times was serious and philosophical in nature, etc, but the release of Catallus 16 proved them wrong. imo it resonates with what i think the main theme of being able to create for fun instead of just to please others or for the purpose of academia.
sort of related, snake symbolism has signified creative life force for a long time.
@@clupeoiden Archeologists have for long time gotten rid of evidence of past civilizations filthier aspects. For example in Pompeii archeologists quietly broke off dick shaped protrusions from above the doors because it didnt fit with their vision of romans.
Also one of those discoveries that arent mentioned in books about Romans is the walls which were used as message boards. 4chan had a laugh when they realized that shitposting is older than Bible and that the humanity has never really changed.

One of my favorite things about your videos is how different the way you present the story through the art in each of them is. Like in some of your videos, you have a few, simple pictures, while in others, you have a fully animated PV, while in others still you've got this cool, colorful comic book format (like in this video). I don't know if any of this makes any sense, but basically, I love how different each of your PVs are, and yet how similar and uniquely Ferry they always come off as.
That's also one of the many things I like about your music - it's so clearly your style, but it's varied enough that it makes every song stand out and be unique. Like, this sounds so similar to Macroapocalypse, and yet there are so many different elements that add a little more of an urgent, demonic tone to it that I can't quite put into words but which perfectly portrays the messages and feelings behind it. And there's just so much heart, soul, and creativity poured into each of these storylines that it's difficult to not be captivated by their beauty.
Also, it doesn't hurt that this character is very very cute and I love her with all my heart and just want her to smile and be happy. So please, I beg you, leave my daughter alone :(
Oh wow, seriously thank you so much, Im very flattered! It's hard to say thanks in a non-generic way, but honestly reading things like that means a lot (since I do worry about all my songs sounding the same)
The chorus is like Macroapocalypse but 300 times more intense.
I love it.
Oh no, I remember hearing about Catullus 16 from a Latin course a while back. I'm sure there's nicer classics to find then that.
hehe funee gay poem
Kinda gae ngl
Far to late for me too correct this but the poet was Catullus, the poem was Carmen 16.
@@woooooooooooooooooooooooowhat's fun is that it was meant to be an insult to the author's critics, meant to show dominance and take away the critic's virility
I'm learning Latin and every time someone asks me what I can say in Latin, my first instinct, without fail, is to recite the Latin from this song
It's just so catchy I can't get it out of my head
that and I really don't know enough Latin to say anything else of significance
Nothing like some Catallus 16 to set the mood for conversation!
Uhhh, you don't wanna tell them the translation...
I hope you don't encounter someone who knows the translation
uhh… please don’t do that, it’s an extremely dirty latin poem
@@strangemiscellaneousfruit9222 Oh believe me, I know, I just forgot to specify in the original comment that I know the translation but it gets stuck in my head and I find myself wanting to say it anyway in hopes the other person won't understand
Weird theory time! Okie so this what I believe to be the story of this song, the girl shown is a song/story writer who is having trouble finding inspiration, so in desperation she makes a deal with a demonic entity that will constantly give her ideas. However, in order for the demon to give her ideas she is forced to share her body with the entity. However, after a while, all of the ideas start piling up and she has no idea what to do with all of them, so she stores them deep in her mind and is unable to contain them. This leads to the girl giving up control over her body in order to stop the demon from giving her ideas constantly. This is just my weird theory so I wouldn't be surprised if you disagree, I think the song itself is open to interpretation so this is just what I got from it.
Wow, you and I practically have the same theories! If two people have similar theories, then we probably aren't that off from the true meaning!
Ferry are you okay
This is one of your best works yet but are you okay
Okay but a serious question: am I right in thinking that the Latin poem quoted throughout is Catullus 16? Knowing you, there's probably a lot of symbolic significance in that, in terms of the writing motif and the theme of freedom of art to be as coarse or soft as the author wants, but I want to gauge if that's intentional before I start speculating.
Yup, that's catullus! I'm not going to pretend like there's some super deep meaning behind the lyrics, but the general theme is about author's freedom and trying to meet people's expectations and whatnot. Also I thought it would be a fun poem to put in so
@@ferry2943 It is fun indeed. I learned the poem by listening to this ;)
@@ferry2943Academic burnout/trauma is a real theme! You did a great job
Wow this is so cool! It makes me think of a writer falling apart under the pressure of deadlines and kinda losing it to coffee induced sleepless nights
But the way the video was done was well coordinated and the drawing style was very comic book like which went really well with the delusion like atmosphere of the song
Very well done and it's definitely going into my inspiration mix :)
this song is really cool!! the vibe i get from it is that the hack writer is really into classics and wants to write poetry/has a big project they do instead of their actual job, which is writing fast for deadlines. somehow she manages to summon the ancient Egyptian snake goddess Wadjet (i think it’s Wadjet because of the references to classical civilisation, which includes ancient egypt). she makes a deal with the deity so that it helps her with writing well to deadlines, but it takes a toll on her (hence ‘I keep on prancing inside the chorus line/Only alive enough to make the deadline’)
this is all probably really inaccurate but it was fun to theorise :)
i think the toll might be... sight? i could be wrong, but that might be the blindfold

a groovy, upbeat tune to compliment dark-ish lyrics, just how i like it - i especially love those bits in the choruses where they rhyme together a bunch of words very quickly it's super satisfyin
and like who doesn't have a knack for demon-human interactions
i love the art and the pv!! it perfectly encompasses the fast paced music and the hard work put into it is obvious, and it kinda reminds me overall of Samara 1921 which is one of my favorite songs
god this song is so fucking good ive literally listened to it like hundreds of times and i always come back to it i love the latin and the rhythmicness and the bass and the mix of gumi and al and the art and story and everything about this song and video is perfection
I really, really like the snakes and all the little details in this, so cool! Like someone else said, it kind of gives you that "oh snap" last-minute exam feeling and makes your heart beat faster which really fits in with the idea of the song! You did awesome as always :D

One Again On Ferry News: Classic loving child encounters a demonic boi and sings strings of latin
*strings of very dirty Latin
I love this so much !! The music is almost hypnotic in the way it draws you in, and the latin poem gives an ominous, eerie feeling to the overall atmosphere of the song, adding to the whole otherwordly vibe I get from the six arms freaky fella (is it a demon or some other supernatural being?) Also, I absolutely love your art! It's very gritty, but in a cute way! That probably is an oxymoron.. But anyway! You did a good job with the music, and an even better job with the visuals! The video as a whole, is in my opinion brilliant ^ ^ You should be proud of what you create, you're a wonderful producer
Have a good day :)

Oh, it's amazing, the beat is so exiting! I love the coral snakes aesthetics, very juicy. I don't have time now to decode the Latin lyrics, so can't tell much about the theme of the song, however rhythm and visuals just make me feel like I'm reliving an hour before an important exam, where I don't understand why I'm trying to remember stuff and time is racing like crazy. Amazing work!
A Latin translation is provided in the captions "English Canada"
@@blackout1316 Thank you!
I had to watch the video three times to be able to enjoy art, read through russian subs and then english subs (I am so tired I can't focus) and honestly? I love it. Not every music video is enjoyable to watch three times in a row, but with this one I am sure I can go for a forth time.
So yeah.
GREAT JOB!!!
This PV is amazing. I love the contrast between simpler, subtle movements (i.e. the falling pages) and faster, more erratic ones (the books that move rapidly). I also love the color schemes you used-i think they're triadic (if that's the right word lmao) and the simplicity is really chatming. It feels like a living comic book that evolves with the story.
While I think the mixing could have been a bit better, I really enjoyed the song overall! -And I ain't really one to talk considering all--the audio i've madd sounds like it was recorded on a potato lmao-
Anyways. Love this. New bop to listen to on repeat until I hate it and then get mad at myself for overplaying it.
Thank you so much! Yeah, I kinda messed up the mixing on this one, but I'll try to make it clearer next time:x
Another amazing song courtesy of Ferry! This one is pretty intense, and the Latin really adds a lovely element to it! A dramatic piece
It does have some very similar rhythmic patterns to macrospoalypse, but that’s easy to overlook since this song has so many other new elements!

This song pulls something inside of me , the music is hypnotic and made me emotional. The tuning of the two is great, I was sceptical but they sound very good together. Great work as always, but somehow this is beyond your previous works, it really has something special. Thanks Ferry

you know you have serious writer's block when you encounter a demon while writing an essay
this is like a mashup of macroapocalypse and mr fox wow, i'm into it
also, what is this even about? how'd you get the idea?
Thank you! I'm sorry I don't like to directly explain what most of my songs are about. Though you know, from what I've read, the people have basically figured it out already hahah
The idea was mostly sparked by the catullus 16 poem and the entire first part of the song was written the night before I was supposed to take a test at my uni so uh there's that

Ok, theory time. I think that this is a song about stress and procrastinating about writing songs. In the beginning the lyrics suggest that the person might be trying to find inspiration, by reading a book. ("I'm looking for classics to read")
And in the chorus the singer says that indulging themselves isn't a crime, ("Hey, I think it's fine to indulge from time to time") which probably means that taking a break wouldn't be so bad. And the singer says, "let's add a rhyme, Frankenstein, Sinn fein, define," that means the singer isn't caring too much about the lyrics of the song any more. "I need to dance, waltz inside the chorus line" and that means that singer is procrastinating on writing the chorus of her song. And it also says how she failed her deadline for when she is done with her songs.
Singer is also feeling bad about missing the deadline, She wants to finish her song, but she doesn't have any motivation to continue it, and she falls asleep when she starts writing it.
"Fuck you and stuff
Aurelius, and, pansy, a thief
For thinking me, because my verses
because they are a little courteous
For it 's true poet
his verses to him, there is nothing, it is necessary
Indeed they've salt and charm who at that time
If they are delicate and sexy," is what the latin lyrics mean. I got it off Google translate so don't expect it to be 100% accurate.
Aaaand there. My theory.
Me, sitting down to draw yet more fanart for this song: I just think it's neat :)
Боже, это прекрасно *^*

Ok this is a bop and the video is so amazing. I love it so much. That "no lesson no lesson" part and the repeat of the opening lines was just 👌👌👌👌
Also dumb question but what does Sinn Fein mean in the context of this song? Cause it's the name of an Irish political party and I assume that's not what you were referencing lol
Thank you so much! Sinn Fein is meant to sound random/out of place, since the singer is just adding random rhymes for rhymes' sake in that part of the song!
ironic enough that this song is awesome background music for churning out academic slop minutes before the deadline. youve done it again ferry

Might be a t a d late to the party but here is my two cents. So this is either super obvious or I found something (probably the first one) but I think the character’s multiple arms are in reference to how she multi-tasks and over works to meet her writing deadlines. Edit: Also dyedviolets’ idea that they try to put effort into their work but can’t because of short deadlines, and that’s what the “you learn no lesson” lines are about, I feel is reinforced by the fact that they wear a blindfold, thus being blind to said realization
I really like the style you've been developing!

You have HACKED my heart with this song, I love it so much!
Hey uh is there a number I can call to get this demon to ghost write for me? They seem p chill and uh it’d be great if I didn’t have to constantly read through my poems and short stories. Congrats, *wipes tears* Its a bop!
aaaaaaaa you've uploaded again! I love your work and this song is so good, it's definitely one of my favourites of yours! The art and harmonies make it so intense, and I didn't expect the Latin poem to mean what it did (from the translation in the subtitles) so I'm trying to piece together what it all means. I think the whole song could be about literary freedom?? and how the stress/pressures to hit deadlines, and constrain yourself in what you write, can lead to an individual hating their work and becoming tempted to indulge and become unconventional/reckless instead. Though this is literally a theory that I came up within 5 minutes because I could relate to that feeling a lot
I'm not sure if anyone else has mentioned it, but you use big al really well in songs, its really nice to see! (And hear)
I feel this. Creative burnout is real.
