- 27 04 2013 The new ride for 2013...Carl/Nicolas Brunet Testing the new car making sure everything is good to go! They are the World Record Holder for the fastest 4Cyl whit 6.46@218mph.. i switch the sound off for 40s they were talking technical stuf :)
7 years later im here ,watching the same engine setup amazing 🏁
Me too😅
4Cyl whit 6.46@218mph??? now THAT is purely insannnnnne!
take my hat off to the pilot tho, that be scary fast lol
4-CYLINDER WORLD RECORD | 1600HP+ “COBALT” FROM BRAZIL! 6.18@224
damn, that is one thick 4 cyl.
sounds like making popcorn at idle =D
a 1500hp popcorn making Machine.. :)
Sounds a lot better than the imports !
Is this tiny 2.2 litre ecotec engine ??
This car his a bullet aluminum racing block. It's a race block that can only use on the track.
I forgot where I saw the information about it. And plus you can see the block looks like one piece off aluminum block. Idk about the heads. And about the jets racing Eclipse. It's a full drag car. That's also bullet aluminum block and head. You can read the information on There website. The civic that just ran a 6.68 at 204 mph. It's a oem k24 tsx block and head. With after market piston and rods. Believe it or not the civic is on boost only at 50psi and made 1300hp. You can look at the speed factory civic that made 1500hp on 60psi. On oem block and head with sleeves.
After 10 or 20 pass the block spite in half. Because of the heat.
sameer jura I think that's a BILLET aluminum block?
sameer, BTW The Jett racing vehicle is not an eclipse, it's a mini truck!
We built them for this guy at my last job. He has a factory block with a steel uni-sleeve now.

I own a G6 4cyl ecotec, while this is way more power than I'd need. Still good to know I can built the hell out of it. ha
I ask... Methanol?
How much horsepower from your 4 cyl? my guess is 2000!
goropeza101 I think its 1600 but super light weight
3 gallons / mile :P
+seby1983 the 458 italia that's more than 100 hp per litre. Also the outgoing m3, audi rs4, and r8. Also the Ariel atom v8.
I'm guessing this must of been one of Mike Edwards old NHRA Pro Stock cars.
+1951RKP Perhaps! His old sponsor, his old body style and it is a Jerry Haas built chassis. The Napierville track looks pretty sketchy.
What is the displacement on this I4, 2.0L, 2.2L, 2.4L, 2.5L?
this car has a billet block with 5 litters of displacement
What?, It is only a 4 cylinder Ecotec.
sinusbradycardia yes is a "eco tech'', it has a billet block witch means is a block made in a solid chunk of steel with pistons bores bored into it,it has a 5 litter bore
steven vazquez
Can you provide a link to where you got this information from?
Who makes this fuking engine
He is right they added weight and restricted the turbo on the eclipse that ran 6s
Damn! Ecotec engine is the best!
Lmao no it's not
How much weight ?
how much boost, what displacement?
12kg 99psi
1 litre
Its nearly as fast as one 6 cylinder mustang that I know of...it runs in the mid 5's. Excellent video and that's one kick butt 4 cylinder running in the 6 second bracket.
You say it's YOUR 5 second mustang.. And it's a"street" car with a Ford 6 cylinder on pump gas... So prove it...
+Bad Muthafuka 5 seconds on pump has lmfao no
Davey Geiger that's what this guy's swears he has. . The utter impossibility is what makes him so hilarious. Get him going and wait for the lies .
keep your eyes open for a 1000hp ecoboost 3.5 Swap in to a 84 SVO the guy say's it's going to be used as a street car
1000 hp ecoboost gonna take a loooooot of money. Couldve went 2jz for a fraction of the cost.
Well if ya know your engines then you can see it's an ecotec, Iv seen this in person as well.
I've seen it today. He couldn't get any traction though.
It is an EcoTech, you don't have to build a Japanese engine to go fast. The displacement depends on what Gen is the engine, the biggest it can be in factory standard is 2.4, who knows what kind of crank they are using It is not uncommon to have a drag 4Cyl bored and stroked to great capacities.
I liked to see this car go like hell. Closes to it was Chivy Kings Alchohol 3SGTE with a 6.84 1/4mile time. I do recognise, it is the fastes I've seen.
Chivy is back with a new 2jz project just two test runs and the car clocked high 6s... go Chivirico represent!
the displacement in these racing engine are 2.1 liters
This beat Brent Rau's 4 cylinder and looks like it is tied with the mighty 2jzed.
You know, you are right, but 2JZs are getting faster look at E.kanoo supra, Humilde and Gas 2JZs. I do like fast 4 bangers! They were the begining of import racing, but with chasing of faster times, all imports are going to go to big engines as they chase the 20B and 26B. New Generation 20B already hit a 6.1... I think half way this year or to the end of it, we will have a rotary or 2jz in the 5s.
Osvaldo Gonzalez Is E.Kanoo Supra using a production block or an aftermarket 2jz billet block? I noticed that 2jz billet blocks are being produced now.
sinusbradycardia what do you mean it’s tied with the mighty 2jzed the motor is American
good job! but jett racing just ran a faster MPH 6'50's 223mph with the 4g63
fast mirage probably bad traction. I bet you their time was slower always leads to a slightly faster trap speed.
Who cares what you say, look at the engineering
Dude a 4g63 is not in a ecotec block or head!?! The video said fastest ecotech....
6.50 is not faster than a 6.48
ecotec all the way
honestly that engine looks more like a 4g63 than anything
I am putting in a 2.2 ecotec into my 84 Alfa Romeo spider, with all the work I did on my motor it dynoed,187 go at back wheels,no turbo..its a great engine to work with a engine plate at the bottom end 4 bolts per main..
@@randellgribben9772 to explain the ecotech design it actually doesn't have main caps it has a bottom end that is a girdle that means that the crank itself is actually sandwiched between the upper and the lower portions of the block IE the block and the girdling below it that's why these things are so damn strong.
@@jonf2009 yes,.. this one of the reason i chose the engine to fit in my 84 alfa romeo spider.. the 2.2 is well tuneable..mine is.020 over and 10.5/1 compression, and other things to it
is that mike edwards old car
+Evan Hartley..... That was my thought as well..... the car, not the engine of course.
+2Stroke Diesel Power it has to be his old car, it has PRO 2 on the window
I said this was faster than Brent Rau, but someone came back and said Brent Rau's car is heavier and not a full tube chassis like this car. I'll have too look for proof of that.
thats true, brent rau is a 3/4 chassis car,is the old tremmors build by valdo chassis in puerto rico
this is an ecotec and you can build them to 1400 horsepower... pretty bad ass!
look at that intake plenum...o..m...g... thats got to be scaring the crap out of 8l
This is gm correct
Yea chevy
Love these fans that think they can do this to there 2.2 eco....
Team Brunet New World Record Fastest 4cyl 6.29mph@222mph ua-cam.com/video/xVMiCgxhyVs/v-deo.html
" i switch the sound off for 40s they were talking technical stuf :)
" Why would you do that? That was the whole reason i clicked on this was to hear some technical stuff about an ecotec. Lame..
Car just ran a 6.20 for the "Second fastest 4 cylinder" in the world
Lol it's not the 2nd fastest 4 cylinder do some research jackass
yeah, this machine is REALLY economical !!!!!!
before any of you guys with cavaliers, cobalts or some saturns get any big ideas........i read the article on this car when it first hit the magazines.....an ecotec in stock form...meaning....stop by the salvage yard and buy a low mile ecotec to build.....BAD IDEA....the stock block failed at around 350hp i think it was.....the block flexed and cracked!! so they had to cast one with extra webbing to hold up..........ecotecs are around 200hp stock.....if your really bent on using one.....id swap it to a geo metro....maybe turbo it on low boost.....like 5-8psi max.....
Gary Marshall thats funny because the highest on stock internals is over 600whp with the stock block. Im over 400whp on stock engine. The na models yeah they dont handle power as well. But the boosted ones have forged rods and crank
for those who dont know ecotec engines, the gen 2 ecotec block is capable of handling 1000hp stock where as the gen 1 was not able too.
just a fyi...
So misinformed
there are aftermarket parts to beef up the mains and other parts of the bottom end to get this kinda power on stock internals. from what I've heard the eco tec they use in nhra has to be like the street block and thats why mopar cars can't use the a4 4 cyl because it was never a road engine but half a v8 made for racing in midget sprints and drag racing.
Geez, who gave you that info? LOL. Ecotecs are actually about 145hp stock too btw, my 2003 cavalier has a bit of work to it and gets about 150 at the wheels.
No matter how long the Ecotec continues to be the fastest 4cyl...since 02, import folks will always be oblivious to it. This engine has done everything before the Japanese 4/6cyl has
Thats whit the OLD car. This is Now the 2nd Quickest 4cyl DoorCar in the world.
Actually they have the Worlds QUICKEST as in 1/4mile ET DOOR_CAR whit a 4cylinder engine. There is a quicker Dragster whit a Ecotec engine that belongs to Don Nase JR 1/4 Best ET: 6.417 @ 209.75 mph. Otherwise Great video love the pit footage.
Team brunet vs Team La familia???
13 07 2013 New World Record whit a 6.44@212mph Quickest 4cyl DoorCar in the world
No it's not jackass
@@homgrownbud what is
Gitcha some O' that...
Ecotec> any honda
Indiana Dirt Media not on the street.
@@mostlyirishcarguy8955 not on the track either lol
bad azz
This might not be a ecotech. The valvecover says ecotech. I think its a 4g63. Ecotech was just a joke they slapped on the cover.
Looked like a 2.4 ecotec
took a Cummins diesel stack and put it on my turbo.😂
Looks like a engine in a cart from a used cheap nissan motor juiced on steroids looks like they build the car last before putting the car together it looks like they build the motor around the whole car rolf. Let's try the world's fastest production car as in four cylinder platforms
Get a V8 turbo in there. I say High fives, and low 6's
Why a V8? The goal was to make a fast running 4-cylinder.
Rob A they run tat time. On 1/8 with nos and turbo. Piece of shit
El Humilde from Puerto Rico faster runs 6.44 & major league from puerto rico goes 6.38, 4 cylinder & rotary >>>
were they running this 15months ago? that's how old the video is.. they might be faster as well. but good job to all running that fast with only 4 pistons.
Mike Edwards old car so not new just new to them
มันจิงๆ
Lol yea right team brunet got spanked by team humilde that who you need watch
Do you know the difference between 4 and 6 cylinder motors?
@@pohtoj1 doesn't matter what you run what matters is how you make it
Search Google. The engine looks just like an ecotec.
Actually the lucimar racing civic k20 drag car just ran a 6.66 on 55 pounds Boost 1300hp. No nitrous. the car is getting faster and better And still with a oem block and cylinder heads. With after market parts. Now the jett racing eclipse is not a oem. It's a bullet block with cnc cylinder head and big stuff with 80 psi and nitrous. Runs 6. Something lol and same with the ecotech block not a oem block and head anymore. So to me the fastest 4 cylinder is a k20 lucimar racing civic. Honda Power all day. I Don't Know Why U Dsm Guys Like The 4g63 Motor It's Not Even A Good MOTOR To ME. Lololol
sameer jura when you say the ecotec is not an OEM block, your saying that the block used here isn't made off production tooling and of the same material as a production block? Can you please point me where this is documented? I would like to read how they produced the non OEM block but still call it an ecotec. What company makes its? It's just like Buick's v6 stage 2 block vs regular v6 block. Buick could have easily put a stage 2 block in the turbo Regals in the 80's, but they never thought that people would turn the turbo Regals into drag strip cars and make 1400whp. However, the v6 stage block was made by Buick and could have easily been produced for production cars. However, people will argue that because a Grand National has a stage 2 block in it, that is a non OEM block. Even though the block was made by Buick. That's just semantics IMO. However, people are pushing 1000whp on the production v6 of the turbo Regals and Grand Nationals. This is a push rod v6 block developed in 1962 and hit its final design in 1978 - 231ci v6. The 1978 Buick v6 block can bolt parts directly on from an 87 Buick v6.
sameer jura is the 4g63 motor used in Mitsubishi drag car?
The block is, the internals aren't. It probably has a billet crank, rods and forged pistons.
The same as the ecotec. the block is production the internals aren't.
Just like the TSM racing class for Grand National/T-Type have to use production 109 block. However, they all forged rotating assembly and either Stage II Buick Motor Sports heads or GN1-R race port.
Just like the 2jz block is production, in the fastest Supra, but nothing else.
The ecotec block here is not what the person suggested, a billet steel block with 4 cylinders bored out and each cylinder displacement 1.25L or a 5.0L inline 4.
+Samuel Mason Put down the pipe, son. BMW COULD do this today, MAYBE but they damn sure didn't 30 years ago. Try to find a reference of a 2 valve 4 cyl. BMW that made over 1,300 horsepower and get back to us, troll...
+Racer m12, 1.5 litre turbo f1 motor made about 1500hp on m10 block, go look it up its a pretty well known motor
*****
F1? Are you kidding me? We are talking about production based engines here. No F1 engine has ever been close to being in production, meaning being sold the the general public. You and I both can buy the same block this car has. Did BMW ever sell their F1 blocks or engines to the general population? Hell no. PS. No offense to you. Perhaps you didn't understand we were referring to 'commonly' available engine components.
not a 4 banger /watch?v=3GQxXT0BpB4
What? Yes, it does have a 4 cylinder. I have no clue why you link to a video of a 69' Camaro.
JayMark2049 (B207R)?
JayMark2049 yer right sry chainsaws /watch?v=OVn0sMGMqhU
Not sure. It's an Ecotec but I don't know exactly which one.
slug Face
Chainsaws? lol Okay.
