I left the hobby back in 1995. Set up a 55 in 21. There have been so many advances that it’s like learning everything all over. It makes everything so fun. It also explains why the lady at the store asked me several times was I sure I wanted a under gravel filter. Lol 😂 A primary thing Iv learned so far is I can’t grow plants that are heavy root feeders. They don’t die off - they just don’t grow and flourish. But if it can feed from column including roots I have great success so far.
I am so glad I watched your videos because I’m going to create my first solo aquarium, planted at that, and you address every nook and cranny of aquatic concerns.
Thank you Cory I learned a lot in 20 minutes watching your vid. I am using a Nicrew 6500K full-spectrum LED (with gradient dawn and dusk) on my 75-gal tank. Inexpensive and the light is beautiful. Fish are so much happier with a realistic dawn and dusk rather than the JOLT of sudden full daylight, Liked it so much I bought a smaller one for the 20-gal. Now if only I could stop the Buenos Aires Tetras from eating all my beautiful plants!
Easiest like of my life, I have been thinking about starting a planted tank for years now. I finally made the leap past couple of days and this video easily made me understand what sort of light I needed.
I used to always have fish tanks as a kid. as someone who got nosebleeds A LOT at night, having one in my room during the day and night was fantastic! plus fish are just adorable lil wet babies. Now as an adult, its been a while since i've had a fish tank for more than just looks. I plan on planting it, maybe breeding the fish i get, and really...getting into it. Watching all your information videos, and even the unboxings and such, have been so helpful in gathering information that I need to know, or refresh myself on. I want to thank you for that and to tell you THANKS for being as helpful as you are. I can tell you're passionate about the hobby, and job for you, and thank-you for that. THANKS from my future wet babies.
I have six LED shoplight T5 integrated fixtures zip tied together on top of my 55 gallon tank and I’m achieving 220-240 PAR at substrate. I’m very pleased with the build quality, too: even though they were cheap, they’ve gotten dropped and submerged before and still work just as well as they did when I first got them. I actually bought a backup and compared the brightness and they are the same, with one having been used for six months
Im new to your channel, and I must say, you are the BEST resource I've viewed so far. I mean, you are so in depth, so detailed, all while making view points on both ends and it is simply explained! thank you for the videos. cant stop watching and learning.
Super informative. Too many aquascaping videos point you to borderline unaffordable bulbs (Ada solar RGB etc) no real explanation of why. Thanks for such an honest take on this topic!
im quite a handy man, so i use the 4 feet LED shop lights from the hardware store on all my planted breeder tanks, but i modify the hoods and make my own reflectors so the light goes straight down, and not out to the sides so much, some aluminum foil and glue woks well as a reflector on the inside, and some tin, tin snips, and rivets can make the edges of the hood come straight down directing the light down into the tank instead of away from it. for my show tanks i tend to use the stingrays.
Nice video - tons of great LED lights on Amazon for $20 and less for small tanks. Great spectrum. Even more (if you need brighter) for under $50. Most give you a VERY simple diagram of what light you need as per your setup 👍 Simple...
Very good informative video as always. I took a 10 dollar led strip on a roll, put in on a woodstrip, duc taped two pieces of styrofoam onto the wooden strip and used that on my aquarium, as long as you have a lit on the aquarium so the led's don't get wet it works just fine, plants love it with low amounts of fertilizer. They don't grow super fast but they grow just fine. Sure, not as pretty but when you are on a tight budget you are on a tight budget and I can attached a second row of led's to the same power source and wooden strip to double the output in 15 minutes.
Gonna start a planted Aquarium soon. Sensie have been following your channel since 2018 now my quest if about to be completed. Perfect video to end this and start with new stuff like how to run a business like you do.
Just what I needed to hear. I planned on doing all super easy plants anyways since it's my first go around with them. Nice to know I don't have to get any special lighting.
After an increase in tank size due to a nice purchase.. I had no idea what to do. This video helped so much I can't even begin to explain! Thank you, a new sub for you :)
Well I hope they didn't give you nightmares! Don't hesitate to check out our second channel as well. Jimmy of Aquarium Co-Op where we live stream as well.
Of course not! I'm just not a teenager anymore so it's unusual for me to do that. Your very informative and have a great way of explaining things that makes me understand even complicated things which is what I need! I just bought a Fluval FLEX 34L 9 Gallon Nano Glass Aquarium Kit. Allot of the information I've seen/heard seems very complicated! I just read that I need to let my aquarium sit (cycle) for six weeks before adding any fish! And that the tank is only big enough for one small (one inch) fish. Is that true??? Please help!
For the longest time I didn't know if I could use a shop light LED. Now I do! One mistake I was making was I put 2 on there and I was just trying to pump so much light in and for 12 hours. Algae heaven!
Thank you for making this vid. I'm creating a 650 litre (165+ gallons). I'm 13 and I'm getting a huge tank. I already have an 80 litre and a 150 litre tanks
Thank you so much for this video! I didn't relies the blue light was bad for my plants, my fixture has a white and a blue option. I'd been using the blue one like a night light, no wonder they're all dying!
So Cory, I did a ton of research and ultimately decided to go with a Beamswork. I added a dimmer (per a suggestion from a reviewer), so I could dial it down if the light too bright. I am a beginner with a 20 gallon. My light & (eco complete) substrate arrive today. I have about 5 different plants - which arrived in the mail yesterday..... 🤞 Hoping this is gonna go well 🤞 Thanks for this very comprehensive video!!
He's obviously very practical, budget minded and he's a success. When I run up on guys like him (on any given subject) I know it struck GOLD. I'm thankful he's on UA-cam doing this.
I watched your presentation on lighting . It was very good however I'm setting up a new tank 72" x 18"x 24 " deep . I have already spent the money on having a tank made , now I need your suggestions as what light would be sufficient to have a successful planted tank . I have bought your merchandise and plants . I have a 40 gallon Breeder tank with 2 Hygger 24 / 7 LED plant light . I have a 135 gallon tank 72 " x 24 " x 18 " deep with 2 Nicrew LED. plant light . I still don't know if I got the right setup on both tanks . Both tanks have plants in them . Your suggestions as to lights needed on all three tanks would be appreciated .
I have a very old hood for a 10gal from years ago that takes T10 incandescent bulbs - luckily I found that they actually make LED bulbs in this size that put out way more light than the old bulbs ever did!
Thank you very much for this series of videos. I have been struggling to grow even Java Fern! I am hoping to make some improvements with plants in the next few months.
Ive seen alot of videos on lights/planted tanks and to be honest, I think you put out the best videos, you explain things well and make it interesting. I'll be watching and I'll suscribe :)
Those corkscrew curly Q bulbs are actually called CFL or compact florescent bulbs . Back before they became popular they used to run full spectrum but then they figured out how to get more money and decided to limit the frequency to 2700k instead of 6000k and then make the full spectrum "plant bulbs" and charge more for them. Also those first CFL bulbs were rock solid , dependable and lasted for several years . I still have one in use from 2001 .The new ones absolutely suck and don't last very long at all . LED lights are definitely the way to go especially considering the fact that they're way cheaper to operate plus you don't have to worry about breaking a bulb and inhaling the gases or cutting yourself or dumping mercury in the landfills . Also if you build an LED set up yourself you can set it up for spot lighting a specific species you want more light on or any number of cool effects that can be done . Anyway a good primer for lighting . 👏
Dude! Remember Halogens were the only way to at one time? (For a big tank). LED is the best. Thanks again for another great video, headed over to your substrate video!
Thank you thank you love your videos. I am doing the diy thing to set up a planted tank and could not find 6500k led bulbs only 5000k, didn't know if I could use them and low and behold the fish geek comes threw yet again to answer my question.Ty ty respect and tank on.
I bought Amazon Sword and Java Fern from a chain pet store. My Java Fern kept dying meanwhile my Amazon Sword has flourished. I kept trying root tabs, supplements, gluing to rock/driftwood. I now realized that my lighting is probably what kept killing it. Lesson learned. This hobby is humbling. -_-
I have a 75 gallon tank with two finnex 24 _7 one is 2nd gen the other is the third or newest .I also run pres. co2 . I really like the look of the two together and I am just getting things dialed in. I run my lights on 24_7 mode and love them. Am I sure I made the best choice . Who knows but I like it and and am happy. When i bought my first one finnex was my choice because the 24_7 mode .Now other manufacturers have copied that and possibly are better lights . I almost went with fluval 3.0 but i didnt want them to be drastically different so i stayed with finnex and kept some cash in pocket. Research is key to a decision .What ever light you get you are going to have a learning curve. Adjustability is a nice feature. Also it's like anything else you get what you pay for to a degree.
I use led lamp crated to be used in garages, hangars, depozits. 10W 950lm, 5500k, 60cm wide for 45l aquarium 60cmx28cmx45cm. Bacopa cardinari grow so nice, no algies in last 2 years, slow grow for anibias nana.
since you made this video the cheap ebay full spec LED's have actually got pretty good for the money and currently I am growing water hyacinth under them in my breeding tubs for my guppies and it grows them just fine they also grow most other plants I have and I have them on short and taller tanks on taller tanks some plants grow a bit slower and I dont get as good reds but I am low tech no CO2 and they still grow and I think the fish look good, they cost me $30 -- $40 depending on length and I just use those and they don't use much power compared to the previous T5's.
Love your videos!! I have a 75 gallon. I have java ferns, moss balls, and a new one but I don’t know what it is. I want more plants but I don’t want any hard to care for plants. What type of light would I need. I am not an expert in fish keeping or aquarium plants. I like low tech tanks. No co2. Idk anything about that.
I have a fluval profile 1200 to buy lighting for. 4 T5 bulbs is probably not cheap. I havent started the aquarium yet, but the new fluval 3.0 is what I will probably upgrade to (probably two of them since its such a deep tank).
you always amaze me at all the information you can put into one video and have it in a language everyone can understand. also next fish room update could please update us on the kribensis and apisto fry if u still have them ? Thanks
One alternate for LED's for people on a budget, is to buy the dome reflector "shop lights" or work light fixtures and pick up a 6 pack of one of the new A19~23 sized household LED bulbs in 5000K to 6500K. Those bulbs are putting out almost 80~100 lumens per watt nowadays. Since I do open top tanks, I have pendant LED, 60 incandescent watt equivalent, A23's in worklight fixtures. I'm getting pretty close to medium light levels over a 20H with two of these, that's medium-high levels for 16 watts. The upside is they last 6 years and the bulbs are roughly $3.00 to $4.50 each. The reflectors can be had for about $6.00 to $9.00 and they come with an off switch so you can rough tune your lighting.
Hi, Great vid. I bought a 75g 2nd hand last weekend. It came with Aqualux Nicrew blue and white led that fits over only one-half side of the tank. I want to purchase another for the other side but from what I have read the Nicrew Full RGB spectrum lights with Blue, white, and red are better. Your thoughts?
Your gold fish tank is amazing. Would love to see a video on just it . Where to get those type plants or gold fish, tank requirements, etc. Also, you are my favorite aquarium youtuber and love all your videos . Thanks for doing what you do!
I have an Aqueon modular LED fixture for my 20G. Planning on going to live plants...should I add another light bar to the fixture? I’m concerned it’ll be too much light that will promote algae growth? Right now I’m using the single LED bar it came with (I don’t use the moonlight feature).
I didn’t think lighting for plants could get so “complicated.” I am probably going to get better lighting for my 125 gallon. The plants are growing very slowly even with a full spectrum fertilizer.
I am just starting out with a planted aquarium...been out of the hobby for almost 30 years. SO much is different. I am starting out SLOWLY, a 10 gal tank with Flourite Black Substrate. I also have a Fluval AquaSky LED 15" light that I purchased when I bought my 10 gal. I know this video was talking about lighting for much larger tanks than my small 10 gal., but really want to try this by starting off small. Will the Fluval AquaSky be fine. I am NOT into CO2 injection, not yet anyway, but love carpeting plants. So, will I have any success with this kind of setup? Thanks for the ton of information!
Question. You talk about the height of the tank. I have a 120 gallon almost 60.5 in long almost 26 in tall and 18.g in deep. What is the best option for me. I want baby tears and other carpeting plants as well as taller plants. With discus fish. I have eco complete. If you could recommend a light system as well as a co2 system that is safe for my fish.
I have a 5.5 gallon Top Fin. With Anubias, Amozon sword, Bacopa and Rotala roundifolia. The lid only has has three tiny bulbs. What light can I use to get the plants to thrive?
I have a question maybe someone with knowledge can answer . I have a small indoor pond with a koi in it. I have a couple led lights inside the pond and the room gets lots of natural sunlight . Do they need added light ? The pond itself is lit but I’m not sure if they need a certain amount
In a very simplistic answer. Fish kinda don't care that much. They adjust pretty well to just about anything. Now if it is going to be planted then there are more consideration. I would say on plants it depends to a large degree what plants you want to keep.
so here's another "what wattage bulb should I use?" just starting out found a small tank (15 1/2 "W x 7 3/4"D x 10 1/2" H) 5 gal? bought it for my Betta. want to do a few easy plants. have my eye on some java ferns and annubius (never grew plants before). now, i know i can get away with a cheap light fixture, but what range wattage (or kelvin? new to me) should i shoot for? thank you in advance for a reply. or, if any of you intermediate hobbyist knows, would love a suggestion! thanks! My Betta will love you for it
Java fern and Anubius don't need super bright light so you could go for any light you decide, more light can give more growth but they'll still grow just fine on a lower light output. I wouldn't go super bright though, Betta's don't like constant super bright lighting, they're more of a mid-level lighting fish. with all the options out there, wattage isn't a big issue, just get one that fits the width of your aquarium and you should be good.
If you haven't already you should try taking the defuseer lens off the shop lights would be a "cooler" light and brighter also more focused down side is sharper shadows
Hi!( Im greek so sorry if i doing grammar mistake!). I would to ask you if you could tell me what kind of lights use in an aquarium 121×41×55cm(240 l). I listen that Led lights its good. So i'm ok to buy led light? And which model you suggest from these dimensions?
Hi hi......do light has any effect on fish? , can i put marine or actinic or maybe moonlight for my NO plant tank? ..... Because I just bought 9 crown loach ,and i love really love them....they are like little mouse lol....but each time I turn on my Sunny led lighting they all go into the rock hiddin9 , I see your video taking about clown loach , you say lower the light to encourage them to be outgoing.... , but is it ok for the fish get low light? Like marine salt water light use in fresh water fish? Or even moonlight? your video is full of education and knowledge.i have learned alot from your video, thank you
recently got a used t5 HO fixture missing a bulb for $10. Bought 2 replacement 24 watt HO grow bulbs online for about $5 It seems like a much better option for me on a budget than going out and spending $50 on a mediocre LED
So whitish light blue light is not good? Is that coral blue? New to this have couple plants and this is color light I am using. My fish like it. I have one of those multi color LED lighting. Which color is best?
Can the LED lights on the Fluval Spec 2.6 gallon kit tank damage human eyes? I see that there is a blue and white light mix and am not sure if it is UV lighting. I've read mixed opinions and am not sure that I fully understand it. Concerned because there is no hood over the light and it is in my kid's room. Thanks!
Hi there! I watched one of your videos on KG Tropicals about planted tanks. I've purchased my first timer for my light and wondering about the sunrise/sunset feature. If I start with a 10 hour "on" time as you suggest, I assume that includes the sunrise/sunset time too, yes? Any recommendation for a starting schedule for ramp up/ramp down steps and duration? How long to have it at my top light setting in the middle? Any suggestions welcome. Thanks!
It's LED of nothing for me, mostly because it's really the only thing available anymore... I use a lot of Finnex Stingrays, at 40 of em ranging from 12" to their 48"... It's a great 'low light' LED... A lot of my racks have shop lights on them though, mostly because they're mounted about 12" above the tanks, they light 4-5 tanks at a time that way... Can't wait for the Aquarium Co-op light(come on China!) Because I just can't pay that much for a Fluval anything... Thanks again for your awesomeness...! Keep it up...!
I have found virtually all built in LEDS are kinda inefficient. They bare usually too little light for good plant growth (exclusing anubia, Java fern and the like). I used to work for Marineland and then Tetra and I have ended up modifying EVERY light fixture I had. Didn't get new fixtures/strips due to budget concerns at the time.
@@jimdavis9034 So what kind do you get? My 55 Gallon has the LED built-in ones and they seem to be putting out yellow light now. The whole aquarium looks yellow.
@@roberthealy1814 I currently have a 29 planted with a Beamswork EA I have had for a few years. Very bright and nice color to my eye. I finally replaced the original t8 2 bulb fixture with a Finnex Planted + 24/7, It is not as bright to me as the Beamswork but the 24/7 is really cool and the true red 660n REALLY REALLy makes the fish colors pop. Even my plain Black Vail Angel looks super cool under the sunset light. Like the silverish stipes look glowing orange. Not really natural but still amazing. I may (or may not) replace the Beamswork with another Finnex 24/7 or possibly a Fluval 3.0 just because the PAR is so good on these. I have only had the Finnex about 2 weeks so not sure about actual affect yet. I Used to tear apart my standard hoods and add either power compacts (before good LEDS) or just slip another fixture in with the standard to get more and better light.
Hey Cory, I absolutely love your videos I am so glad I found them before I got my self into a UA-cam rabbit hole. Straight to the point and honest, LOVE IT! Now I want to start a planted aquarium not for fishes though, for my soon to be painted turtle and of course I need to find a light suitable for both the turtle and the plants, any recommendations? turtles need a UVB and UVA light and I don't know if it would work for the plants as well. or I could get different lights for each but im not sure I want to take that rough and spend more money. I feel like I might be overthinking this:/
Well, that's complicated, but basically as long as your light isn't in the blue spectrum, it's going to grow plants. If you could increase the intensity of the light, that may make it easier to grow more plants.
I got a cheap kit a few years ago (15 gallon column from Aqueon). This column design is pretty but a little awkward to decide on which fish to get for this. As far as lighting, it comes with a tiny T8 (?) bulb. Can this grow plants very well? It is a low-medium intensity fluorescent bulb. I'm assuming low light plants would grow decently well... As far as fish I have no idea
New to the hobby. What are those spider, ropy plants in that tank called. I just set up a 29 gallon and would love one of those in it. Absolutely love those plants.
Im new to plants and dont use co2 i did just order 2 reef pro lights 8,000k 240 watts are they hard to grow....i LOVE the look of the spiral long string leaves
Cory what do you recommend lighting wise for a non planted tank how many hours a day should I run in my non planted tanks that consest of shubunkins and the others have corydora otocinclus and mystery snails
Thank you for your videos they help so much. I just replaced my light with a led light but i work a 12 hour shift so my light is on for 14 hours a day and then I was switching it to the blue light for evening. should i get a timer and set it to come on later and leave the tank totally dark at night?
I would tone down the lighting the tank gets, you can always have it come ona nd go off a few times a day. just try and get about 10 horus total of light.
i have a 30" tall 24"-24" side, watching this have me thinking about the light, i would like to grow plants but i don't know what to get for the light to hit the bottom for the tank can u give me help plz ?
Hi Cory! Thank you for all the helpful info! Question: I'm running a 29 gallon "low tech" set up. I have java ferns and a couple of windelov's, anubias broadleaf and nana , and a dwarf lily. I dose once a week with your All In One and supplement iron as needed. I have one Finnex Stingray 30 inch. Do you think I need to add another? Everything seems ok as far as growth but I’m not sure how to identify a light deficiency.
Thanks alot for spreading such valuable information. There aren’t much avenues for people to gain such info but thanks to you the beginner aquarium hobbyists are well guided. I really love your content❤️. Just wanted to confirm once more that my blue and white LED would be okay for planted tank right?

I try to cover lots of info but make it easy to understand.

I'm so glad I can look up these before I buy these expensive bulbs, I'll stick with my T8 bulb before I replace it! Thanks Cory!
Thank you so much for this video!
I didn't relies the blue light was bad for my plants, my fixture has a white and a blue option. I'd been using the blue one like a night light, no wonder they're all dying!
thank you my good sir I was debating on the fluval 2.0 fresh light...for my 75g...I'm getting it today!!!
Awesome :)
You are extremely fundamental man, I enjoy listening to your brain!
Pretty sure I have this same hood but has no idea there was led options! Where did you get the led bulb from?
Thanks so much. Your videos have made me much more successful with my planted tank.
Hey Cory!
You are the best!
You hit 16,000 subscribers!
That's a lot!!
You are growing ssssooo fast!
Indeed :) Thanks for the support.
I love your videos Cory, every new fish keeper should watch them, it would save them a lot of mistakes.
Thank you very much for this series of videos. I have been struggling to grow even Java Fern! I am hoping to make some improvements with plants in the next few months.
Let me know how it goes :)
Finally not a 2 hour video
Ive seen alot of videos on lights/planted tanks and to be honest, I think you put out the best videos, you explain things well and make it interesting. I'll be watching and I'll suscribe :)
Welcome to the team :)
If you want a good value proposition, nicrew LED lights are great
Which nicrew light would you reccomend for a 55 gallon planted tank?
Dude! Remember Halogens were the only way to at one time? (For a big tank). LED is the best. Thanks again for another great video, headed over to your substrate video!
I think I'm going to transition to led's, Cory you convinced me! Great video very high quality!
When it's time to for new lighting, I think LED makes the most sense.
Thank you thank you love your videos. I am doing the diy thing to set up a planted tank and could not find 6500k led bulbs only 5000k, didn't know if I could use them and low and behold the fish geek comes threw yet again to answer my question.Ty ty respect and tank on.
Yeah, it'll totally grow your plants. Assuming it's strong enough, but the color temp won't matter much at all.
another question if you please.... I hear use root tabs with stuff like Amazon swords is that the tabs at the garden center or no? Thank you
i love it when he makes new vids
I'm glad to help :)
+Aquarium Co-Op I'm glad that you help your awesome keep up the good work! :)
Yup, needs to make them more often
+Steenfott Aquatics but when he does make them there great!
Shush Steen.
Soo glad I subscribed to your channel! These videos are so informative! Thanks man. keep up the great vids!
Will do, thanks for hanging around.
This video was SUPER HELPFUL!!! Thank you so much!!
Cory said, let there be lighting, and there was !
Great vid Cory, many thanks.
Cheerz!
Ha
Thank you so much! Greetings from Devon, in the UK.
since you made this video the cheap ebay full spec LED's have actually got pretty good for the money and currently I am growing water hyacinth under them in my breeding tubs for my guppies and it grows them just fine they also grow most other plants I have and I have them on short and taller tanks on taller tanks some plants grow a bit slower and I dont get as good reds but I am low tech no CO2 and they still grow and I think the fish look good, they cost me $30 -- $40 depending on length and I just use those and they don't use much power compared to the previous T5's.
Thanks
+Jackson Harris Ill try and show those off, next fish room video comes out in a few hours so itll have to be thebone after this.
+Aquarium Co-Op ok thank u very much
One alternate for LED's for people on a budget, is to buy the dome reflector "shop lights" or work light fixtures and pick up a 6 pack of one of the new A19~23 sized household LED bulbs in 5000K to 6500K.
Cheers co op bro you are the king😀 greeting from New Zealand.
Thanks for all the help Cory! Keep up the great videos
i have a nicrew c10 plant led light bar and love it
Your videos are good.
@@jimdavis9034 thank you for the input. I appreciate it
so here's another "what wattage bulb should I use?" just starting out found a small tank (15 1/2 "W x 7 3/4"D x 10 1/2" H) 5 gal? bought it for my Betta. want to do a few easy plants. have my eye on some java ferns and annubius (never grew plants before). now, i know i can get away with a cheap light fixture, but what range wattage (or kelvin? new to me) should i shoot for? thank you in advance for a reply. or, if any of you intermediate hobbyist knows, would love a suggestion!
Most aquariums have lighting built in, mine have LED's built in the lid. Are they usually efficient? Or should I get another one to go with it?
Do you have any advice on what to do if the extendable arm to your light breaks? Besides buying a whole new light?
Sorry if this sounds dumb but if it snapped or something you can use super glue?
Hey Cory, I absolutely love your videos I am so glad I found them before I got my self into a UA-cam rabbit hole. Straight to the point and honest, LOVE IT! Now I want to start a planted aquarium not for fishes though, for my soon to be painted turtle and of course I need to find a light suitable for both the turtle and the plants, any recommendations? turtles need a UVB and UVA light and I don't know if it would work for the plants as well. or I could get different lights for each but im not sure I want to take that rough and spend more money. I feel like I might be overthinking this:/
I’m looking for a better light because mine is only white. Would a better spectrum help a lot to grow harder difficulty plants?
Well, that's complicated, but basically as long as your light isn't in the blue spectrum, it's going to grow plants. If you could increase the intensity of the light, that may make it easier to grow more plants.
I got a cheap kit a few years ago (15 gallon column from Aqueon). This column design is pretty but a little awkward to decide on which fish to get for this. As far as lighting, it comes with a tiny T8 (?) bulb. Can this grow plants very well? It is a low-medium intensity fluorescent bulb. I'm assuming low light plants would grow decently well...
As far as fish I have no idea
Your videos really help me thank you 🙏
New to the hobby. What are those spider, ropy plants in that tank called. I just set up a 29 gallon and would love one of those in it. Absolutely love those plants.
Hi! For a 2 gallon tank low tech plants, what height distance between surface of water tank and the led light would you recommend? Thanks
Im new to plants and dont use co2 i did just order 2 reef pro lights 8,000k 240 watts are they hard to grow....i LOVE the look of the spiral long string leaves
Not that hard to grow, a slow grower and not the most common or cheap plant.
What type of plants can I grow with a 16 watt LED light? It's the tank light that came with my terra tank.
Hi Cory! Thank you for all the helpful info! Question: I'm running a 29 gallon "low
tech" set up.
Nope, sounds like you've got it dialed in just fine. I wouldn't spend more money on another light unless you were going to do more demanding plants.
Thanks for the fast response bro!
Thanks alot for spreading such valuable information. There aren’t much avenues for people to gain such info but thanks to you the beginner aquarium hobbyists are well guided. I really love your content❤️. Just wanted to confirm once more that my blue and white LED would be okay for planted tank right?
I've been waiting for this one!
Hope it helps.
