Zeb I have to say that I think you have made the right decision. I don't think you have the ideal set up there for 1 lonely milk cow in town. Being in a herd situation on a farm will be much better for her and she will likely get in calf naturally if they have a bull. Having farm animals is a real tie and commitment. Now you can concentrate on the cottage renovation.
I am sure everyone is sad about selling Buttercup, but keeping her has to make sense! I would love to have chickens again but even they are a lot of time and work that would dip into time I don’t have! She had a REALLY living home and gave great joy and milk. She will love frolicking in a field with other cows 💜 excited to see the next installment
You made some good points, Zeb. Sounds like you thought it through well. In some ways it will make life easier and you can say you did it! Sending you long distance hugs.
Sad Buttercup wasn't with calf. Know you will find her a good home. Canning the tomatoes was awesome! Yog will have many great meals with them. Loved thus video! 🤗
I also prep my tomato sauce with whole tomatoes (seeds and all), but instead of a blender, I now throw them all in a big pot and use an immersion blender to puree them all at once. It is faster with less mess. I'm sad for Zeb. I know he was excited about a possible calf. Even without a calf, I've enjoyed seeing and hearing about Buttercup.
HEY GUYS I JUST LEARNED THIS TRICK FROM AN ITALIAN CHEFF, HE HAS A GARDEN. HE FREEZES TOMATOES THEM PLACES THEM IN HOT WATER FOR A FEW SECONDS, SQUEEZE THEM AND THE TOMATOES POPS OUT. BRILLIANT! Sorry about Buttercup but you’re making a very good decision.
Hi, so pleased that Buttercup will be leaving. Limited grass and space saddens me, after seeing all the cows and green grass in England. Jamy le parfait not les parfait! ( a typical American mistake) Love watching you guys! Mxx
Gosh .... Buttercup has been a fan favorite but her keep has to work for your family dynamic . Zeb , you're a jack-of-all-trades & we look forward to learning from your projects . So glad Odelia is ok (❤) & Jami sure looked cute in the end pics !!
This was hard to hear about Buttercup but reality is ok. It’s disappointing but not tragic. She was fun to hear about. Your new projects never stop coming!!
It’s always tough to let a member of the family go but it’s gotta be about her quality of life. With her own kind or even other farm animals will be good for her.
I can tell you were disappointed with the calf and milk situation. If it is any comfort, she looks pregnant to me too! Also so glad you are teaching your boys to be great men and how to do all the life skills. You and Jami are raising incredible humans. The world needs more of you. Love yall!
Aww, that’s sad. I’m sorry you have so much time and energy and money into a losing proposition. It sounds like you made the right decision. There’s a lot that goes into having livestock that the average person wouldn’t know, you’re not dumb. It will be nice not to have to take care of a cow and calf this winter. About the flooring, I think it needs to be acclimated in the space you’re going to put it for a while so the moisture level can level out. You can keep home canned food for years. Soft things like fruits will break down over time, but they won’t go bad. Great job on the tomato sauce!
I used to do all that. Apple jelly. Grape jelly . Taking me back. I'm 71 . I had quadruple heart bypass so don't have energy like I used to but fun to watch yall.
I hope she goes to a good home. Where you have her doesn't really seem in her best interest. No disrespect just seemed to me she needed more. Glad you made this decision.
Sweet Buttercup. Sometimes the AI doesn’t take so take it as it comes. We used AI yrs ago but went back to bulls. Sometimes that doesn’t take either. That’s part of ranching. Wish we lived closer I’d take Buttercup to give me milk again. Store bought is something I had to adapt to after my dad died and mom and I sold Bossy. I’m 75 and not in good enuf health to milk a cow.😳🥴🥹😵💫Give her a big hug for me. 💕💕
You just gotta do what you have to do. My little kitten broke his tail . They said it would cost me hundreds. So I took her to SPCA. I CRIED but I'm getting over it.
Aw, I'm sad to hear about Buttercup but sounds like you made a good decision. Are you regretting rehoming the sheep? I know you said too many farm animals was a factor. If you salt eggplant slices , let them sit for 10 or 15 minutes and then pat dry, they will be less bitter.
That was a Great vid, Zeb! You showed us a lot. Sad to hear sweet Buttercup will get re-homed BUT you & Jami are successful business ppl so, no doubt after realizing more cons than pros, you have made the best decision. Although bittersweet. Basement of home-canned food will be awesome when finished. Luv your channels! God Bless 🙏💙
Can tell you were pretty emotional about having to sell Buttercup. Hopefully a buyer with a nice big, lush pasture will come along and love her as much as you have.
I could tell in your voice that finding out Buttercup wasn't prego was a great disappointment. I was raised on a dairy farm and it's hard when things like this happens. I'm glad that Odelia didn't get hurt but cows are not something you mess with. I known the decision was hard for y'all to make. I hate to say this but if she doesn't sell...you are sitting on a bunch of beef to feed for your family as well. Can't wait to see your organization on the basement and the new flooring going in.
Sorry Buttercup didn’t have a calf. However I am sure that the extra hours will be well used. Homesteading is a lot and there is only so many hours in a day. My husband and I homesteader when we were younger. We raised goats, pigs, chickens and sheep. Lots of work.
Of all the assets, hurdles, and situations you have gone through, lettingButtercup go can only add to your strength. Who knows, another Buttercup may be right around the corner! 💕
Love your eggplant lasagna you threw together at the end with the boys. Looks delicious. You've inspired me to make this or something similar for my family one evening.
Food looked great. But I have to say, I think I am going to have to go cry about Butter cup…
You and me both!
Great catch up visit! Blessed harvest days!

Oh Zeb. I feel you. I just sold my herd. 31 cows cause we just don’t have the time. They were my Dad’s.
I’m very grateful you’ve rehomed your cow. She needs more space and a real pasture. Just my opinion, of course.
I am sure everyone is sad about selling Buttercup, but keeping her has to make sense! Well, now we know the whole story. Thanks for sharing. Bless your heart. You are a good man.
Looking forward to seeing the organizing videos in your basement!
Super cool basement!
She is going to make someone very happy and I think she will be happier too.
Thank you for the update. ❤
You made some good points, Zeb. Sounds like you thought it through well. In some ways it will make life easier and you can say you did it! Sending you long distance hugs.
Thanks! ❤️❤️❤️
😢😢😢

What a great way to do the tomatoes! Thanks for the idea!

Sorry about Buttercup but you’re making a very good decision.
I'm glad that you can recognize that you guys have a full and busy life. Letting something go will be good for you. Someone has a plan for Buttercup.
Good decision.
Well explained Zeb. You are so good with her. Hopefully her new family will love her half as much.❤
Sometimes it’s harder to take care of one. When you have several it’s what you do. I get it. Even though it’s hard.
Aww, that's a shame. I'm glad you have a plan. Hope it all works out for the best.
You guys are truly an inspiration, and your children are learning the best life lessons. Thank you for sharing
Oh man what a super bummer about buttercup. 🥺 but I totally understand ❤️🥹
Oh I bet that was super scary for Odelia.
Yeah she was pretty shaken up over it
Look like from my daughter's garden.

oh well, you tried your best with the cow, and it sounds like a wise decision to sell her. You both have so many projects on the go. All the best!

So sad to hear you’ll need to send Buttercup to a new home but certainly understand 😢. Eggplant casserole looked great! We just might try it.
This was hard to hear about Buttercup but reality is ok. It’s disappointing but not tragic. She was fun to hear about.
Your new projects never stop coming!!
Decisions a farmer makes 🙂
It’s always tough to let a member of the family go but it’s gotta be about her quality of life. With her own kind or even other farm animals will be good for her.
To Cool! All the things!

I'll be so sad to not see Buttercup in her pen, she is so sweet. Sounds like the right decision, but know that you will all miss her.
Yay! A peek at Zeb's next lighting 💡 project 💡& the food storage organizing to come. Farewell Buttercup 🐮 may she get a green, new home.
It might seem like a hard choice to pass Buttercup on, but you are being so generous to bless another family with her. 💓

Yeah that was another factor. Winter 🥶

Can hardly wait for the food organization in the basement. After lightening goes in of course. 🙂I need some inspiration
So sad that Buttercup is leaving. 😢
I hope she goes to a good home. Where you have her doesn't really seem in her best interest. No disrespect just seemed to me she needed more. Glad you made this decision.
She’s been pretty good out there. It’s mostly desert around us so unless fields are constantly watered most people have to hay feed.

I am gonna miss her sweet disposition. Her calf would have been really mild mannered 🤞🤞 and her milk. It was so creamy!
You just gotta do what you have to do. My little kitten broke his tail . They said it would cost me hundreds. So I took her to SPCA. I CRIED but I'm getting over it.
Oh wow!
Sell the flower seeds!
Where are Han and Chewy? Haven't seen them for a while.
They got a new home last spring in anticipation for buttercups calf 😔
So long Buttercup we enjoyed you while we could.
Oh, how sad 😢
Oh no! I’m so sad no Baby Buttercup! 🐄 😢
Me too!
Cows shouldn’t be alone. They are herd animals. Don’t think she’s happy. No need to make excuses. She’ll be better off.
Sometimes we have to make choices that make us feel sad. I know that you’re going to make sure that Buttercup will come to a good home ❤
Oh no! 😢 Buttercup has been playing us all! Lol!! ❤🐮
😊👍👋
No more novelty pets is probably a good idea, you and they deserve better
She was great to have when she was in milk. We may get another milk cow in the future. It just doesn’t make sense right now for us.
I think right now we’re gonna take a deep breath and be happy to just have chickens through the winter.

I’m hoping she sells. My dad is an old farm boy/ rancher and he said the same thing
Sorry thing didn't work out with Buttercup
...the basement literally a deep dark secret 😂 Excited for the upcoming content!
Sorry Buttercup didn’t have a calf. However I am sure that the extra hours will be well used. Homesteading is a lot and there is only so many hours in a day. My husband and I homesteader when we were younger. We raised goats, pigs, chickens and sheep. Lots of work.
Store water in your empty jars in case of power outage.
Of all the assets, hurdles, and situations you have gone through, lettingButtercup go can only add to your strength. Who knows, another Buttercup may be right around the corner! 💕
Hopefully! 🤞🤞
So sorry know it’s disappointment about Buttercup . ❤️😇
Poor buttercup 😢 She grew to love you guys and now she has to move on?
Kinda sad about Buttercup she is such a sweet cow, but I get it….
Love your eggplant lasagna you threw together at the end with the boys. Looks delicious. You've inspired me to make this or something similar for my family one evening.
They ate it up! I was skeptical because they had never eaten eggplant but they seemed to like it quite a bit
Your funny little frisbies
😢
"With a lot of cheese" makes everything better.
Why is buttercup’s tummy sticking out like that?
Just full
@@jamiandzeb 😂
My Alexa set a timer for 20 minutes, lol.
Oh no! Hehe
Take time to breath!
