Shirley Bassey recorded this song, Try A Little Tenderness, on her 1995 Album, Shirley Sings The Movies'. This song was first included in the Irish movie, 'The Commitments; it was written back in the 1930's, and it just goes to show you that great songs that have great singers recording them, can forever be made new again. And, Shirley's rendition does just that; her high fidelity vocals blend perfectly with this jazzy full orchestral arrangement. Although Bing Crosby was one of the first singers to record this song back in 1933, the first time I heard this song was from the 'Chairman of the Board' himself, Frank Sinatra. Shirley's recording reminds me of Frank's version as their singing styles are very similar.
Shirley Bassey recorded and released this song on her 1995
LYRICS:
In the bustle of today
We're all inclined to miss
Little things that mean so much
A word, a smile, a kiss
When a woman loves a man
He's a hero in her eyes
And a hero he can always be
If he'll just realize
She may be weary, women do got weary
Wearing the same shabby dress
And when she's weary
Try a little tenderness
You know she's the waiting just anticipating
Things she may never possess
While she's without them
Try a little tenderness
It's not just sentimental
She has her grief and care
And a word that soft and gentle
Makes it easier to bear
You won't regret it, woman don't forget it
Love is their whole happiness
It's oh, so easy
Try a little tenderness
It's oh, so easy
Try a little tenderness
It's oh, so easy
Try a little tenderness - Розваги
