Thank you Ashish sir for this review . I was waiting for its reviews after spotting it at shop & you are the first one for me to review it. And surprisingly, the shop owner hinted about its taste by rating it below oaksmith gold, Rockford reserve, Maqintosh silver & even below Signature
You have a good shopkeeper at your disposal. Most shopkeepers know nothing beyond what the company has told them! I am glad that you look forward for my reviews, when the review segment is filled with so many reviewers! Thanks for your patronage!
Review segment might be filled with 'so called' reviewers. But Ashish is a true reviewer, highly knowledable...and one of the best players in his game. Though highly under rated. Keep up the great work Ashish. 👍 :- Chinmay Birje
I am from Goa, I have tried this 2 years back, it was 600/- that time too. I realized 12vis just number and it's not possible to sell 12 year old at such low price. In taste, it is not harsh, and I had it neat everytime. It's sweet and has woody taste, no more complexities though, compared to other whisky in this price Its smoother and good to that. But I would prefer Oaken Glow over this, Oaken glow price is 525 in Goa and taste much better. You also get Oaksmith Gold at 650/- ( tried 1 year back ). Old Oak may be 3rd good choice.
Information about this whisky is quite insightful. You mentioned that Grain Spirit is one of the ingredients. That got me thinking most of the Indian whiskys have Grain Spirits, Grain Whisky, Neutral Spirit etc. How are these ingredients different from each other?
Here I am with my response. Apologies for the delay as I had to do my own research before responding. Here is what I have gathered. Any thing, agriculturally natural, when distilled, and resulting into sugar can deliver ethanol. This would mean grains(corn, wheat, rice, rye), fruits(grapes, berries, banana), potatoes, you get the drift. If distilled to around 190 proof/ 95% ethanol, all base flavour, character of the initial raw material is lost. This is pure spirit so to say. This is termed a Neutral spirit/ Extra Neutral spirit- this is odourless, colourless and thus character less. This gas wide usage from alcohol industry, to pharma, to fashion. If made from grains and proofed only to 160/ 80% it still has some grainy character such as sweetness, smoothness, odour of the base raw material. This is termed as grain spirit. If the grain spirit is this aged it gets converted to a grain whisky. If grain spirit is mixed with botanical items, it becomes Gin. If grain spirit is further proofed it became a vodka. I hope the answer was useful. Thanks for your question, Wincy. Can I share a fun fact? You can still sell molasses based spirit as Grain Spirit as sugarcane is essentially a grain 😆 -- Sugarcanes belong to the grass family, Poaceae, an economically important flowering plant family that includes maize, wheat, rice, and sorghum, and many forage crops. (Copied from internet) --- So all the reviewers who look at a label which reads grain neutral spirit and claim that there is no molasses could still be all wrong and sharing incorrect information. To all viewers, happy to be corrected.
Ashish ji aap shakkar ghol dete hain kaano mein 🙏🏼 Too good oratory skills and very crisp and on the point presentation! It's good that you take us on the journey across India and introduce us to so many liquor across the country. Keep it up! Godspeed 🙌🏼 P.S. The Glencairn Glass used in the review is costly than the entire bottle of whiskey 😅 This whiskey should be tasted in the classic whiskey glass with heavy bottom and lots of ice! P.P.S. Really like the subtle warning! "Irresponsible" consumption of alcohol is injurious to health. Cheers 🥃
Bus aap ka pyaar hai dost! Well try to show those that have not appeared yet on the circuit. That sometimes lead to unpleasant experiences but that’s part of being in this segment! Great point about the glass versus class topic. Also note in Karnataka it is upwards 2000, so it’s more expensive than the glass. I love the warning myself! And often tell that to my own self when I am drinking! Thanks for watching bhai!
Hello Pavan, They are different. Both are safe for consumption. Natural are extracted from plant or animals because extracted from anything which occurs in nature. Artificial is a replication produced in laboratory. Artificial therefore are cheaper to produce thereby dropping production cost. Apologies for the delay in response. Some how lost your question among other comments. Have a good day.

Are Nl flavours and artificial flavours same?
Hello Pavan,
They are different.

You should not review these whiskeys. They are nothing but vodka...
These are not Vodkas, anyhow if not these reviews, what reviews do you want to see?
