Following the whirlwind of Polymer five pound notes being auctioned for vast sums back in 2016, there has been a surge in interest in the value of rare British coins. This coin masters’ guide lists 25 rare British coins that are most certainly worth keeping an eye out for, as they can land you anywhere from a small profit boost to sometimes life-changing sums of money.
Now, before you get overly excited about discovering a coin that may have value, just make sure you do your research beforehand. Ebay prices are misleading.

As others have pointed out, coins from Ireland/Eire are not British coins. It's like listing Norwegian coins in a list of rare Swedish coins!

My three Grandchildren have one Kew Gardens 50p coin each ,one purchased for £40 about six years ago and two found in change .I wish I had purchased more at the time as they are now fetching £200 each online !
Good video, some prices were quite off though. WWF 50p isn't worth much at all, a few pounds max. Kew gardens is more than you said too, about £180-250

As children in the 1960s we were all aware of the rarity of the 1933 penny. Rumour was one coin was missing. At that time bus fare was 2d, so the year of every penny was checked before paying the fare. We knew it would be extremely valuable. At that time many pennies had been in circulation for many decades, like Victorian "bun" pennies. Maybe as old as 1880. Most were extremely worn, just smooth disks. Some people would collect these, but I think even today value is minimal.

Farthings and half pennies were no longer used but I deeply regretted that my mother wouldn’t let me bring back a cigar box of thrup’ny bits. Some older folks buried old coin in case the new system failed. Get those metal detectors out.

Very enjoyable to watch, and very pleased that I have every circulated coin in my collection with the exception of the swimming one and the undated 20p. Kew Gardens and the old nations 50p are my favourites.

I bury some of the coins I don’t want in the park for the hobbyists to find with their metal detectors. The coins are not 'coated'. Cupro-nickel is an alloy of copper and nickel, so the substance of the coin has the same colour no matter how much wear or other reduction it suffers. I would check on 2p coins being stamped on 10p blanks if I were you. It is a known error and it may be one of those you have. As with any collectable, the 'value' depends first and foremost on the condition. Never clean a coin as this can remove 90% of collectable 'value' in a stroke. And, yes, it is easy to tell that a coin has been improperly cleaned.

a WWF silver proof coin is worth up to £65. The Brilliant Uncirculated can go for £20 and the ones found in circulation are worth around £1, but can go up to about 3 or 4 pounds depending on condition. Jags Rocks prices are a little off, but he's on course when it comes to the theme of the video. Which is all the coins he shows are worth looking out for. They can be found and if look out for them, you could make money. There are a lot of UA-camrs out there that are worth checking out.. LAFTA, Christopher Collects, UkCoinHunt and many more. Coins and coin hunts have never been so popular. It's a decent video.
I saw one of the rare swimming 50 p coins in a wishing well once. I really wanted to steal it but i didn't.

One is a VC Fifty Pence 1858 and the other is a footballer. But not sure what it means!
"Footballer" is most likely a Bannister 4-minute mile coin. Both are face value.

Actually 4 special once were made British penny 1933 a wide range of mixture brass silver copper experimental and 7 was made out of just copper & brass no silver mixed and further 6 copies were made out of copper no brass

There only worth two pence .
As there were almost 1.5 billion of them minted, an Uncirculated coin (a coin that has never been used as 'money' and is in the same condition as when it first left the mint) has a book price of £2. A 'proof' example (usually only available as part of a sealed proof set) is listed at £3. If the coin is not in a sealed case it is probably not a 'proof', and directly handling a 'proof' coin will lower or remove any 'value' it had.

You can't tell the actual price of any coin unless it is graded first even if it is a gold. Gold doesn't mean that it is worth something. What kind of coin is it? What year it was issued? Is it new or old? How your coin looks like because nobody saw it? Send me the picture at cambodge@yahoo.com.

I have got two of the one with tower and vines going round It, And Two of the Votes for Women ones as well, I have bags of 20p's, 1p's, 2p's. 5p's, 10p's they are that old, there Is 1/2p's and Threepenny pieces and sixpences, I'll go though and see how many of there's I have.
