Dear Mr. Grim. When I started years ago, you were there to give me tips. I took your input to heart and felt I improved. It was great. I come from a small town and didn't have anyone to show me the ropes. I progressed from chill spots under bridges to train yards and before I knew it I was looking down on the township from the rooftops with your advice in mind. I never hit houses, churches, fences ect. But the neighborhood did start to post flyers with tip lines regarding the local graffiti problem. Things got hot, I got old, slowed down and eventually fell off. As I approach crisis age I reminisce on the old days, consider heading back out and turn to the internet for a refresher course if you will. And who is here to greet me with open arms but my old internet mentor, still preaching the fundamentals and providing inspiration. I'm thrilled to see you're still doing this service. Thank you for everything. You've always been an asset. Keep up the good work. I think I might go under a bridge today, nice and chill. All the best.
Great video as always! I have a sugestion for a vid, is it possible to see shorts of the first book (since soon you will be finishing the second), giving a demonstration of how a tag should be done considering the speed process while also maintaining the 5 fundamentals, with variations of the same tag. Like a practice session. Hope you had a great day!
Would be dope to see a raw video of the full process with your commentary/thought process over it. You are good at breaking things down in 'layman' terms and i think it would be helpful to see the order of operations and what you focus on at each step. Similar to some of smoe's vids, but from your perspective and experience.
Love your content dude I feel I learn a lot by trial and error I have to admit I just kind of do my thing without knowing the fundamentals however I have always been a builder trades guy so I try to balance as much as possible then stretch out and emphasize or exaggerate where I want to make a statement. Currently going through chemotherapy and was rushed into hospital but trying to get well enough I could get out and maybe do something for you to see and maybe show on getting up series I tend to have 3 styles one is rounded other is sharps and my third is boxed as soon as I can ill submit my work would love for another artist/writer to give me there opinions
dude hope you get well asap! I never really get to share this point of view in videos but hey man do you, there is nothing wrong with doing your thing adding style if you find it fun. sure we should have no illusions about our work, and its important to separate our fun stylistic drawings from our practice, but drawing for fun and playing with style is just as important as practice since often times thats what keeps us in love with the art form.
Hey man, thabk you so kuch for all of your content, amazing stuff, really helpful! You said if anyone wants to see a vid building a full name to shout, thats me right here! How do you start stylising full names? Im getting pretty happy with my straight pieces now and want to start leaning into the wildstyle side of things but dont really know where to start. Do you build each letter individually or develop the whole name at the same time?
I’d love to see how anyone else would tackle my initials PRB. It’s interesting because its like the evolution of a letter. I’d love to do a drawing of a p crawling out of a swamp evolving into an R and then eventually “walking” onto land as a B. Fully evolved lol.
