A First Look at Metalworking in my Voxel Game

- G’day everyone. Here’s a first look at the metalworking/tool/weapon upgrade mechanics in the game. The system is similar in design to the magic system. You combine different materials together which give the weapon/tool different effects. For example, if you wanted to have a weapon poison an enemy you would combine it with an item that has a poisonous effect.
Also, a huge thank you for 1000 subscribers that’s amazing. I was planning to do something special for the milestone but you guys were way too fast haha so it’ll come some point in the future. Thanks again 😊.

Suggestion: When using the tools they wear out (loose voxels) and you can restore them, this will make the repairing process more noticeable for the player

Would be nice if we could have an indication of what's a ore and what's not, maybe make the ores shine a bit when there's a light source nearby?

Unfortunately it's never gonna be released. Or even playable. Just like the hundreds of similar half baked demo's on youtube.

@@LineOfThy even that sounds harsh, but he's right. I've seen a lot of great game development videos/channels on youtube, but the percentage of games that did come out is too small, most of them die in silence or the author starts doing something else.

This looks awesome. The textures are really similar to Minecraft. Is this game inspired from Minecraft?
looks good but honestly gameplay in caves showed that the player control needs a bit of smoothing. whenever character goes 1 pixel up or down the camera moves instantly and when the landscape isn't flat moving around begins to feel very quirky. the camera shakes too much which begins to annoy very fast. sorry if it was mentioned already. great project tho, been watching its development since the first few videos, just forgot about it existence somehow.

Teardown didn't invent small voxels.
What this actually reminds me of is Vintage Story, at least in the way that metalworking is physical and interesting.
