Such delightful music! I was so lucky to have played these quartets in high school. While I didn't carve out a career in music, I continue to feel blessed and inspired by artists new and old. Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven, Borodin, and Dvorak were some of my first loves.

    Good evening from Mumbai, India.
This is an awesome and amazing UA-cam video of classical and string music.
Both Mozart and Haydn are my favourite classical music composers followed by Beethoven, Brahms, Schumann, Chopin, and Liszt.
At the age of 12 I learned to play the violin but I fell seriously ill so I had to give it up but I have never forgotten my deep rooted love for string music specially the heavenly quartets of Haydn and Mozart.
Presently, I have with me an awesome and amazing cd -- it is Mozart the Prussian quartets performed by Christophe coin and group from Paris, France.
This heavenly UA-cam video is a welcome addition to my collection on UA-cam.
    Have a great weekend, guys.
Brilliant classics UA-cam channel is really to be praised for all that they are doing on UA-cam for classical music connoisseurs like me.

Aww they both loved each others music so much. These quartets defenitley give off the Haydn vibe. Mozart must have deeply analyzed Haydn’s Op.20 and Op.33 quartets

    • @pdqbach4552
      @pdqbach4552 9 місяців тому

      Not much of them is similar to Haydn's Op.20, Op.33 though. There's more similarity to Mozart's own divertimentos (eg. K334), Beecke's C major (cir. 1780), Michael Haydn's MH367, MH187, MH189, etc.

By the way, have a listen to Michael Haydn's MH367, the third, adagio movement, which is similar to the slow movement of K465. The craftsmanship with harmony and counterpoint is amazing.

No they didn’t, and it’s scary that to date 15 people - who have no idea what they are talking about - have given a 👍 to this blatant disinformation.
The four players involved are well known and we don’t need history re-writing by people like yourself who are making up stories from bits of random and disconnected snippets they have come across from cd liner notes and the like.
      The players were:
      1st violin - Haydn
      2nd violin - Dittersdorf
      Viola - Mozart
      Cello - Vanhal
Leopold Mozart had nothing to do with it, except that it was the occasion when Haydn told him that his son was the greatest composer he knew.

I like The Adagio (The Hunt) very much but at 1.47 in my opinion should the first violin in the high tone have more volume to rise above the other strings, I need to do my best to hear this tone, that should be in fact here so dominant .It means something, it opens to something( in my opinion).

Brilliant Classics shares nonesense? Highlighting lesser known composers by releasing extremely high-quality album after high-quality album of their high-quality music performed at a very high-quality level is everything but nonesense. Mozart is my favourite composer, but it's absolutely a beautiful thing to venture out of the canon and I wish our concert halls did that faaaaar more often.

They were dedicated to *Joseph Haydn,* and Mozart included one of the most touching dedications in all music to his great friend; I suggest you read the Italian language dedication (translations widely available), after which you’ll never use the patronising, condescending and irrelevant ‘Papa’ diminutive again.
