I am still in disbelief. Still shaking. That was one of the greatest Grand Finals I’ve ever seen, up there with 2015. It had it all. Panthers won with sheer guts, determination, brilliance, and discipline. They made one sole error that entire GF, resulting in a near-perfect completion rate. I truly thought they were gone after the third Ezra try, but they fought back, cementing themselves in history and legend..
This is what I love. Seeing past greats react to current greatness. JT here and Billy Slater in commentary going "WOW!". Guys who have been on the big stage before.
Underrated deception from Mitch Kenny. Everyone loves saying he's the weak link in the team and he's not good but after watching that never ending engine of his for 80 minutes and how he's improved this season people should think otherwise
@RyanSymons Most NRL fans will say he's not good, even some Penrith supporters to this day still say it, pretty sad their own supporters don't even respect his effort, anyone who says he isn't good has negative footy knowledge
I’m very happy for the Panthers, I’ve watched the Broncos all season, I feel for them, the two best teams in the comp’…..one came second. Bring on 2024, cheers 🍻
I can see who Nathan Cleary idolises, he moves and plays just like the great All Black, Dan Carter! It's like watching a clone of Dan Carter, the way he runs, he attacks the line, the fend, the grubber kicks, the Kicks to touch, even the conversions. Cleary is still young, he has a lot more footy years left, legendary status at 25 and counting. Would love to see him challenge himself in Union, I really think he's what Rugby Union in Australia, really needs to propel the Wallabies and the game itself!
This is an assessment from a guy who created plenty of those sorts of mind blowing moments himself. So for JT to have his mind blown by a halfback performance - well, that's what you want in your career ... Praise from people who actually know through experience, what it takes.
as a broncos fan im very impressed with what cleary did under pressure, it was an amazing performance. we will be back and probably win next year but this grand final will be the best of this decade.
3 premierships, 4 grand finals, 3 minor premierships 2 half-back of the year awards, two clive Churchill medals. All he needs to now is win a few more half-back of the year awards, a few dally m medals, win more origin and tests and keep playing well for a long time and he will be the greatest of all time
ever since we began typing on our phones all everyone wants to talk about is goat . Is he goat ? Nah he’s not goat ! He’s goAt ! Nah he’s not ! He’s gotta do this to be the goat ! No he’s gotta do this ! hahaHaha
Yep, hard to even be proud of their effort, because for the last 20 minutes there was literally none. They got complacent and simply gave away the premiership, shameful. Ezra Mam deserved better for what he did for them. I have nothing but respect for the Brisbane lions, they fought till the end and just got a few unlucky shots and calls. But the broncos picked up the premiership, and just said "I don't want this" and threw it away, infuriating.
God I love rugby league, the nrl is the best competition there is and it just gets better and better every year. Born and raised in nz, grew up playing and watching union, have all but completely crossed over to league. The games better, the comps better, every season is just anyone's comp to win.
Great analysis. Broncos well and truly took the foot off the pedal last 10-15 minutes and made some silly errors in both offense and especially in defence. Panthers never gave up and Cleary capitalised on those mistakes and made it count.
Broncos were bricking it for the last 20 minutes, and could compose themselves. Experience in GFs the big difference. There'll be no doubt the Broncos will have a chip on their shoulder next season. Round 3 Panthers V Brisbane will be momentous.
After Mann’s hat trick, Broncos celebrated like it was 5 minutes left on the clock. They forgot it goes to 80min, not 60. Panthers played the player, not just the game.
why is no-one lauding the impact that Crichton had on the last 15 minutes? He got the ball in goal for the dropouts. His defense on the left was massive. I think a lot of the credit should be going to him. Going to be hard to replace in '24
Cleary's tri on Riki. JT made some good points, but I would have liked him to mention Riki's dead leg. A cramp or what I'm not sure, but that's why he didn't close the hole back up at all. I noticed they didn't mention it in the live broadcast. I only saw it after a few replays of the try.
The slow mo vid, of jt reacting to a try must of been Ezra man’s try hahaha bc all the bronco supporters were up cheering and the panthers fans weren’t hahahaha, def wasn’t to Cleary clutching the game
Yeah...I'm one of the panthers die❤ in png..that last 15 minutes I was just saying pls Nathan clary do something and it happen 😮 ye it's a mind blowing try,,Nathan is unbelievable..
How many times do we see this in games really though , where teams push to a solid lead then their game play completely changes and it seems they turn to defense mode rather than playing their natural game that got them that lead. (they don't always lose the game , but seen it happen a lot over the years, also Nathan Cleary what a beast) Once they lose that momentum it seems like it's really hard to get it back. A moment of brilliance can literally change the attitude of offensive teams and bring them back into the game for a dominating period - my opinion teams should never switch off or change the play style that got them in the game/lead. Can NZ claim Nathan Cleary as ours? xD he grew up here for a decent bit hahah :P

@@JonathanWilson-zg6bd Well maybe the reason union is dying in australia is not only the fact that it is a terrible product, but also the arrogance of the handful of people like you who still watch it. It is simply an elite private school sport, the same as it is internationally. People who watch rugby league do so because of what a great game it is - not because they suffer from insecurity and watch sport as some sort of social climbing exercise.
24-8, 15 to go, in a GF? Broncos should have shut the game down. 4-5 up the middle kick long, keep em down their end...... Penrith didn’t win, Brisbane LOST IT!!!!!!!
Was JT blown away by Clearlys 3 missed tackles that lead to 3 Broncos tries??? No denying Cleary is a great player but the commentary never pointed this out during the game. All they did was jerk Cleary off for 80 minutes.

Same here
Watched nearly every one from nine, Fox, triple m etc hahaha loving every one of them

If you look hard enough, there are Broncos supporters that did vlog themselves amongst other Broncos supporters. Great entertainment.
Me too😂

I’ve always rated kenny he is awesome
Mitch Kenny is not a special player he’s just doing his job as a number 9 but 1 thing he’s a work horse
That’s how overpowered panthers were last year with api .
But yeah Kenny is a beast
I will never forget this game, greatest grand final I have ever seen, in 40 years of watching.

No doubt he's been trained by the immortal Andrew Johns
Was thrilling and shocking at same time ,as win taken from Broncos clutches
Mitch Kenny is underrated. After this performance I'm tipping for the NSW Blues 14 jumper next year. What a beast!
Just embarrassing they couldn’t hold a 16 point lead with 20mins to go

Jeez you make it sound so amazing, although it still isn't international and will never be. Union is Rugby.
Panthers just looked calmed even when they where behind on points
They learnt from 2020 GF m8, they don't win in 21 and 23 if not for those lessons learnt.
As a Panthers fan, it’s one of those unforgettable GF games… couldn’t have been scripted any better… Congrats to the boys…
One legend admiring the other. Wow
gotta love jt
Funny thing is the mind blown bit is a bronco’s score not something Cleary has done because all the Brissy fans are celebrating 2:32

I believe Nathan and Jarome are the pair of keys to the door for a Penrith legacy.
Letting a commanding 24-8 lead on the scoreboard with 15 to go run away from you like it did was what I couldn’t believe… donkeys
Don't forget cleary played 70 minutes with a broken knee and didn't even show it
That's not even his reaction to Cleary's try🤦🏻 you can see broncos fans behind him cheering
Yeah that was definitely a Broncos try he was reacting to.
JT's reaction there was from Mam's try. They tried to shoehorn it in as a reaction to Cleary's.
exactly AHAHA he had a much different reaction to Nathans try ahahah
