Fortunately, after tearing it down, the good news is that we can repair damaged mains cables, elements, thermal fuses and other cosmetic parts.
I don't really see any benefit over the much cheaper Platinum Plus model.
Mine has an annoying buzz from the on/off button caused by the piezo buzzer being too close.
20 second heat up time was nearer 24 seconds and the temperature attained was 190 degs C, a fraction high but a normal variation we see daily.

Packaging, marketing and feel = as expected
Long term reliabilty expected to be the same as the S4C242 model.
I love that i came across your overview of it before buying anything for my fiancee. Good to know there is some repair-ability with GHD, which when spending so much money tends to be a question of importance! I will check out your other video for further details on the Chronos
Very interesting - I now need to stop the missus wanting an upgrade from her Platinum+, although the differences appear to be mainly cosmetic. Looking forward to part 2...
I see no reason to "upgrade" because it just isn't.

Sleep mode activation at 10 minute, sound so annoying for professional especially when working at the catwalk's backstage. (Although, it can heat up quicker than ever.)

Sleep mode is only activated after 10 minutes of inactivity. Heat time is not different to the GHD Gold or Platinum Plus models. Get an engineer to remove the piezo buzzer if silence is a must.
