  • Here is what the $150 BBE Sonic Maximizer 882i is capable of. I slapped it on one of my songs that is coming out soon to phone near you!
    It brings a nice air to your mix. It should be used sparingly because it can be overly bright, but at the right setting it can add a nice thick air vibe to your mix.

    I have one but didn’t use yet. I was gonna use with drum bus but watching this I think the mix bus is a better approach. Excellent video 👍🏼

    Yooooooo!!!!! Now, this is what I exactly wanted to see and hear. You are the man!!! I really need this. I wanted to know exactly what these things do. I highly appreciate you for this demo. OMG! Now, I'm going shopping for one. Thank you so much! : D

      Awesome! I’m glad to hear! It’s a pretty neat piece of equipment.

      @@Audioequipmenttalk I saw bassist "TOM BARNEY" using one, but couldn't quite hear exactly the difference in his tone. You went steps further. The tone don't stop there where T. Barney was at that time. I hear further "TONES", thanks to your video. OMG! Once again,...you are the maaaan! Got me smiling, bruddah!!! Thanks! :D

    Mastering the sound to be more than 0 db. Do I need to use a limiter? And is it possible to make the volume a lot louder?

    • @Audioequipmenttalk
      @Audioequipmenttalk  10 місяців тому +1

      Usually you master under 0 db so it won’t digitally distort. Anywhere from -0.1 to -1.0 db is a good start. A limiter would make it louder and keep it from going over 0 db. I use a soft clipper before going into a limiter to help it get a little louder. You can make it loud but it might make the song sound bad.

    When use the BBE Harmonic Maximazer instead?

  • @techiefan1986
    @techiefan1986 3 роки тому +2

    Isn't this the same as a parametric equalizer with high and low gain adjustments? Which is better?

    • @Audioequipmenttalk
      @Audioequipmenttalk  3 роки тому +4

      This piece of equipment only adds and subtracts at fixed frequencies. A parametric EQ you are able to adjust frequencies and add or minus gain on set frequency. People usually get exciters or maximizers because they like the sparkle and fullness it has. If you don’t have any EQ, I’d get a parametric eq.

    How do you make the connections to your interface bro?

    • @Audioequipmenttalk
      @Audioequipmenttalk  Рік тому

      I use the extra outs on my interface to the bbe inputs. Then the bbe outputs to my interfaces inputs.

    • @Audioequipmenttalk
      @Audioequipmenttalk  Рік тому

      Not my interfaces main 1 and 2 outputs. I use 3 and 4 outputs or 5 and 6. Whatever outputs you have. Just not the main outputs.

      I have a mixer and powered speakers. Just 2 mics. Song playing through UA-cam karaoke.
      Would like to use BBE and compressor.
      Setup wise-- Better to connect both via channel inserts or aux sends?
      I’ll have to try it out.. when I get both. Just picked up BBE 882i today.
