This was something about the prequels that bugged me. It doesn't make sense that Anakin would turn to the dark side just because he loved Padme. Sure I can see how love could potentially turn someone to the dark side, but the feeling of love itself wouldn't. I get it Jedi need to cut off their emotions blah blah blah but not every emotion would lead to the dark side would it? I mean I would argue that there could be situations of feeling no emotion that could lead to the dark side. It feels like Lucas was trying to give Anakin and Padme a Romeo & Juliet Dynamic of forbidden love that didn't make much sense. They could've just made him over confident in his abilities that his lust for power made him turn instead of the fear of losing her
1:08-1:13 What? No, they don't. I mean, I don't know about the Jedi of this generation, but none of the Jedi during the movies have ever preached that. It's attachment that they forbid; love is actually encouraged.
