What drew me to this video, very serendipitously, is that it was about dreams AND that it had a black panther as the icon for the video. I had a dream about a black lioness/panther whose eyes appeared from darkness and then the rest of her body followed. I’m initiated sango, I recently had a dream that I walked into a room full of sangos and they all properly greeted me and I did the same back to them. I felt good being in the room with them.
I’ve been dreaming of some of the Orishas recently. The first dream I saw Oya. She just smiled at me. Then last night I dreamt that I was in my childhood home. I heard Eleggua whistling, then when I stepped into the garage (that’s where the altars were) I saw yemaya and she was guiding me outside. When I went outside there was a storm and that’s when I saw oya again. Instead of being afraid, I was amazed. Next thing I knew, my house was floating on the ocean. I could feel so many energies and it was the strangest dream I’ve had in a long time. It was so familiar. I’m new to this spiritual journey. I was briefly introduced to the ways of the orisa when I was 14, but wasn’t really allowed to learn much more.
You've said it all. Well explained. Our dreams are messages and information being sent to us from our spiritual self. It's very important for us to have a mentor who can truly help us interpret our dreams. Many years ago, I had a very strange dream the interpretation was wrong and brought me alot of strife and illness because I didn't act as I was supposed to. Good job. Thank you for the good explanation.
You're from Oakland?! Bruh! I'm an aborisha and Oakland native. I just found your channel the other day and have been binging the orisha lifestyle for beginners during my commute! It is written! Ase!
Hi, I did a search and your video came up. I totally new to this. I grew up Southern Baptist and I live in the South. I have lots of dreams and they are mostly about deceased members of my family either close to their passing or right after their passing. I’m not new to dreams. I had a dream recently I can’t stop replaying in my mind. I was in a field in all white. The field was covered in sunflowers. It was so beautiful. This woman started dancing around me and laughing playfully and joyfully. She was handing me the sunflowers and running them across my face. Every time I awoke and went back to sleep I was back in the field. She had on a yellow dress and she was beautiful. I felt calm, happy, and relaxed. I woke up smiling. I don’t know this woman and never seen her before in my life. The weirdness is earlier that day I took a picture with a sunflower and my favorite color is yellow.
That's such a pleasant dream. The colors and symbolism are all very favorable. What else was happening in your life at that time? How old were you? What were your greatest concerns? I think it's also worthwhile to further explore what the major symbols mean to you, personally. What's your relationship to each? Of course, there are cheap and easy interpretations, based on cookie cutter associations that people copy and paste. They are great entertainment but have no power. When you take your dreams seriously, you give them the time and effort they deserve by exploring your inner world, from whence they have arisen.
ObafemiO , yes, it was pleasant. There isn’t much new going on in my life just adjusting to life during a pandemic. I’m 39 years old. I think a concern has been connecting deeper to Spirit. I had a dream that someone told me I was Oguns daughter then I was being attacked by a group of people and had to defend myself verbally then physically. The first to physically attack me were older people! Lol!! I think the dream is telling me to defend myself, either from my old habits or a situation that’s been going on for a long time.
I have a lot of dreams. But one of the wildest one I've had, I was a prisoner in a women's prison camp of sorts (in this dream I believe I was a woman). I traveled along a road with another carrying a basket of yams. At the crossroads there was an old man with a huge pot. He was stirring candied yams. I gave him my basket of yams. He then added them to the syrup he was making as we watched. When it was done, he have me a bowl of yams. Ever since I've had that dream I make my hands in the same method I saw in my dreams.
I remember mentally screaming at " the universe", for artistic direction. That same night I had two dreams. In the first, I was in a classroom with a group of musicians who I love but seem so different than me. Yet, they embraced me and I was really happy. And 1 thing that stuck out was that you said that this was an interpretation of something or a message about me. Now i am jus getting started on my journey and i dont ever wanna be to proud to ask questions... But how do i know if im understanding the right message from my dream? And also is being afraid of the dark a hindrance of learning ifa spiritual walk? Because i often feel a presence when i turn off the lights at my grammys house and alot of times i get a lil scared. Lol. Sorry its kinda a loaded question. I understand if yiu dnt want to answer all of this.
Thank you for this. I always have very vivid dreams and can sometimes see things before they happen which is a lot of Deja Vu and a lot of my dreams are very prophetic. I am wondering if I have the gift of seeing into something deeper or maybe divination. I always research my dreams and have a bigger meaning than the actual dream in itself.
What if you are spoken to in your dreams And woken up so you don’t forget to write it down when a dream is important I am spoken with by a voice and it always makes me get up right afterwards to write it down or google it it’s the craziest thing
This came at perfect timing considering I had a very confusing dream last night. I was running fast and ran into a store. It was dark out. I ran into a store where there was an old high school friend of mine dressed as a police officer in navy blue. My other gay friend from high school was standing next to him with his hand his shoulder shouting for me to hurry up. They were saying there was a police officer before us and we are blessed. Everyone was writing petitions and thank you letters to the police officer praising him as he sat on something that seemed to be a throne .They were rushing me and made me feel a sense of having to do something but im not sure wat. As I stared at my friend the police officer in front of me .....a male voice spoke in my ear in the dream and clear as day said “my name is Olokunwe “ and then I woke up in a panic. I’ve never heard of the Orisha Olokun prior to that dream.
that is fitting, as olokun is the ocean, which represents the unconscious mind. dreams arise out of the unconscious mind, like waves arise out of the sea.

Hello my soul brother, i live in africa too, a strange thing happened to me lately, witnessed a white owl on my roof on the 17th jan doing my evening meditation, i know this sounds kinda crazy and that's not a dream, but i truly feel like this was a message, can you take a few minutes to tell me your insight to that?
I had a dream I was in a shoe store a bald brother shook my hand when he shook my hand it was only us in a black room/area/space (idk how to best explain the place we were because it was pitch black but felt like it wasnt walls) he was still shaking my hand but he had on a white robe(before he had on the uniform they wear at footlocker) obatala, eleggua, and an all red eleke on and touched elekes on me (I don’t have any but I have went to a baba before for a reading) what does this dream mean the baba told me I looked like a child of chango but I thought chango was red and white should I see the baba again and becoming initiated?

I dreamed of a Python wrapping itself round my right hand. I wasn't scared, it didn't hurt me, I didn't try to get rid of it. In a second dream, I saw deceased people, and I heard a voice telling me that I could see these individuals because I had been made able to see them. Do you have an explanation, or at least an opinion about these dreams? Thank you for answering.
the python is an immensely powerful symbol in our tradition. it represents primordial energy and the mysteries of the universe itself. that it wrapped itself around your right hand that way might suggest an intensification of your expressed power... you may be on the verge of a social, political or economic elevation. check out my free dream interpretation workbook for more guidance: members.orisalifestyle.com/pl/134158
I literally just messaged the Babalawo i work with and asked if he had an understanding of dreams and symbology of things in dreams! And you post this video. Divine timing.
I dreamt that my guy/love and I were at a river fest. They were throwing gold dust in the river for it to shine. I was holding his hand and we walked past himself sitting with someone else.
that's very interesting! the symbolism of being at a river festival, celebrating the water that flows. the celebrants adding sparkle to the river. walking hand in hand with your lover. then, he is sitting with somebody else. what was your response? how did you feel?
@@ObafemiO yea it was interesting and I remember looking back at him (that was holding my hand) and then the him sitting as if the him sitting was someone "other". I think the dream was meant for him vs me because he's intentionally changing some things for his betterment. So in this I feel like the messenger. I shared it with him.
I had this dream which I can't understand. The first one is numbers which is 11 11 it keep appearing every where. The next one is that I was walking with a white horse in this strange area but it had a river on the right side of the horse which I was on the left side as we was walking peacefully there was 3 men on in my dream which I was approaching closer the men's was standing like on a hill but the horse was acting strange then the horse got loose from me. And ran into the river just looking from a distance and I couldn't understand why the horse ran off. But I immediately ran after the horse and I was in the river with the horse as I approached the horse the horse was calm and then I pull the horse out of the river and I continue on the journey. So until this day I still don't understand it. I have a lot of different dreams that need. To be interpreted. I just had a chief. Priest contact me out of no where and he gave me a message about my kids grandkids and me.. And I asked him about the 7 African beads. He told me I need to get a necklace and bracelets for everyone. He's for Nigeria. He said he was led to me and my ancestors was trying to connect to me and he kept hearing my name. I don't still understand it. So I would love to educate myself on Orishia
Ignore the messages of anybody who contacts you claiming to be a priest. These are hustlers, not priests. Your dream is very interesting. You should examine it further. How old were you at the time? What was happening in your life then? Describe the scene more. What time of day was it? What color was the horse? Who were the men? What were you thinking and feeling as things unfolded? All these details will give you deeper insight into the meaning of the dream.
it really depends on what was happening in the train station. were you in a hurry to get somewhere and the station turned into a circus? were you running behind a train, trying desperately to keep up? were you there all alone, with your bags packed, but no train ever showed up?
@@ObafemiO so these dreams happened more than once, the first dream I had was me going into an underground station when I was approached by a male who pretended to assault me, then the second dream, I was headed to get on the train with my kids when I realized I didn't have change to pay for a fare then, one of my kids left me and I lost him in the train station, but later found him.
ok, that is very interesting and could be really helpful for you. continue to explore what the train station means to you, personally. what kind of place is it? what thoughts and emotions do you associate with the train station, based upon your personal experience? quite simply, what does it represent to you?
@@ObafemiO IDK but, also my 4 year old had the same dream of the same train dreams and he woke up telling me everything I'm telling you so I know it's something spiritual, but I'm just so confused on what it means, then prior to this dream I had a vivid dream about orumila eleckes with a very bright light shining in my room, this is way I feel it's the orishas .
those are all very affirming signs. it takes effort to discern their meanings. what is clear is that something is calling your attention to those symbols. you would have to make the time and exert the effort to get to the reality of it all. if you want, set an appointment with me and we can do what is necessary to clear it up. www.ObafemiO.com/services
those are very powerful and important symbols, particularly the mermaid. in order to really understand what they are communicating, you would have to explore the dream in full. what was happening? where were you? who else was present? how did you FEEL during different parts of the dream? all of these details will create meaning.
Ive been trying to manifest a pregnancy , and lately I’ve been having dreams of drowning and floods. The one that I remember was at the beginning I was driving out of nowhere I see this KFC but the colors are very bold black and red and there’s this black man showing me something. Then it cuts to this beach party and I’m walking up and my sister is sitting next to this lady and her hair is almost like in this Egyptian like Bob it’s jet black with blue streaks and my sister says you see that bump in her stomach you’re next and then I try to cross the bridge made of sand I fall into the water and I start to drown despite knowing how to swim and I just give up and I woke up in a panic . To me I think it was trying to tell me that I’ve. Even trying to work with the wrong Orisha I’ve always worked with oshun I think eshu was giving me the permission and guidance to work with Yemaya
there are so many symbols in this dream. you need to explore them patiently in order to really understand what is being said. but i do agree that the overall sentiment does seem to be that something is missing... the bridge of sand says a lot. drowning, in spite of the fact that you know how to swim says even more. but esu giving you the green light to work with yemoja? i don't see it. this does not strike me as an orisa-related dream at all. what kind of bridge is made of sand? how does a person who knows how to swim start to drown?
The bridge didn’t fall so maybe there was just sand on the bridge , in the dream when I was drowning I was using all of my techniques that I had been taught to swim and the water said just let go for this pregnancy I’ve been praying lighting candles on certain days going to the river releasing my intentions giving offerings it has pretty much consumed me . I will say that after the dream I have been at peace about the situation
I had a dream of walking in this unknown foreign land. Mountains and a lot of green. People were everywhere in all white. I remember seeing them washing in waterfalls. I then sat down on a log. I was then given a brown little spray bottle. When I turned it around it said Obatala. I can't remember the face or gender of who gave it too me. But this dream is stuck in my head.
I am Edo. I saw Our Oba in my dream ( Mind u i have never been to The Palace b4 .. neither have I seen our oba face2face b4) ... Anyways I saw Our oba ... and i knelt down front of his chambers...He walked up to me .. and he asked me wat i wanted (non verbally) .. next thing .. he holds ny forehead and I could feel some electrical sensation in my eyes .. feeling like my inner eyes were opening... and he asked me if i cud feel anything I said Yes ... den I woke up. I NEEEEEEED HELP!!!
this is a beautiful dream, filled with inspiring symbols. i hope you're planning something important right now. this dream says that you're on the verge of something important. start organizing your life for a great accomplishment.
I recently had a dream about Esú he made a car disappear, when the car disappeared I started laughing... it was like a magic trick. Then once it was gone I noticed 2 puddles of water. I was so confused when I woke up.
Thank you for this. I always have had very vivid and outlandish dreams; often feels like i'm watching a movie that skips from scene to scene. But a particular type of dream which I will usually have is one where I'm pregnant/giving birth. What I have gathered after many years of having these types of dreams is that someone I know will be pregnant, which is normally the case. This year I had two separate dreams of me giving birth to twins, boy and girl, and I've never had twins appear. I don't quite understand what all this means.
time is the key, isn't it? you have to be patient and observant over time in order to really understand how your dreams communicate with you. where do you think the dreams come from? i mean, do you believe they come from your ancestors or maybe from the ancestors of the families who are expecting children or from the orisa?
My mom told me she kept dreaming about this "man from under the sea" daily when she was pregnant with me. She says this man was someone very familiar to her in the dreams she talks with him but when she wakes up she can't clearly remember what he looked like or what they talk about but swears it's not anybody she's actually met in this lifetime. Then, when I was born she stopped having this dream ever since. I've also had frequent dreams almost daily for about a year or longer of very high tidal tsunami waves (like 50~ 200 ft high) that I'll be seeing from a distance approaching me (and I'm not scared, rather I'm fascinated and feeling happy in it), sometimes I'm actually riding the waves or seeing people riding these giant waves, or I'll be walking right by the bluff overlooking the ocean, walking near the coast, or be living in a house right at the edge of the ocean and the tide rises very high almost engulfing me, while I just watch it approaching not being scared but instead fascinated and looking forward, positive feelings despite what should be "scary" scenarios in my dream. These dreams kept coming until I separated from my husband then it abruptly stopped (and now live a completely different life from my previous "life" with my husband). I still see tsunami/high tide dreams once in a blue moon but never like I did during the year long period of these frequent dreams just before my separation. I also feel such a deep connection to the ocean to the point I feel like that's where I need to return when I die...What could this all mean?
It's is an interesting continuation of dream symbolism. I would immediately suggest that you get closer to Orisa Olokun, who is the deity of the ocean. Ask Ifa what Olokun wants from you and what Olokun wants to give to you. The ocean is synonymous with the collective unconscious, which is the soul. This is where the ancestral promise comes from. So it would not surprise me if your lineage is somehow linked to Olokun and the ocean. Thank you for sharing.
@@ObafemiO Thank you for quick answer! 😀 That is very interesting to know. I am not even (I think) of African blood (half Korean mom/ Italian dad....but my children part African American thru their father blood) and I thought some people say Ifa/Santeria was primary for those of African descent. But I've always been sort of a "medium" type, very sensitive of spiritual dimensions and how can I put it, "knowing" certain things unconsciously 🙏

I have no clue what would be the deeper meaning tho 😬
well, it takes a bit more time to analyze the symbols, relative to everything that was happening at the time of the dream
Yes left hand is negative dark and unseen the feminine aspect
Right is light masculine physical
I walk both with Eshu

Hello my soul brother, i live in africa too, a strange thing happened to me lately, witnessed a white owl on my roof on the 17th jan doing my evening meditation, i know this sounds kinda crazy and that's not a dream, but i truly feel like this was a message, can you take a few minutes to tell me your insight to that?
I had a dream I was in a shoe store a bald brother shook my hand when he shook my hand it was only us in a black room/area/space (idk how to best explain the place we were because it was pitch black but felt like it wasnt walls) he was still shaking my hand but he had on a white robe(before he had on the uniform they wear at footlocker) obatala, eleggua, and an all red eleke on and touched elekes on me (I don’t have any but I have went to a baba before for a reading) what does this dream mean the baba told me I looked like a child of chango but I thought chango was red and white should I see the baba again and becoming initiated?
hmm... there are many things that could be at work here. the best thing to do would be to consult ifa for guidance. but, it would also be prudent to study my dream analysis model.

@@ObafemiO Thank you for answering so quickly. Your words are very precious to me! So precious that I took a screenshot! Thank you again! Be blessed!
I literally just messaged the Babalawo i work with and asked if he had an understanding of dreams and symbology of things in dreams! And you post this video. Divine timing.
timing really is everything!

Can you explain dreaming of trains and being in trains station, does it mean ogun want to contact me?
it really depends on what was happening in the train station. were you in a hurry to get somewhere and the station turned into a circus? were you running behind a train, trying desperately to keep up? were you there all alone, with your bags packed, but no train ever showed up?
I do dream of Mermaid and Big snakes though am scared of them in the dream but they don't hurt me...please do you know what that means?
those are very powerful and important symbols, particularly the mermaid. in order to really understand what they are communicating, you would have to explore the dream in full. what was happening? where were you? who else was present? how did you FEEL during different parts of the dream? all of these details will create meaning.
@@ObafemiO Thank you
Ive been trying to manifest a pregnancy , and lately I’ve been having dreams of drowning and floods. Even trying to work with the wrong Orisha I’ve always worked with oshun I think eshu was giving me the permission and guidance to work with Yemaya
does your husband want to have a baby?
Yes
there are so many symbols in this dream. you need to explore them patiently in order to really understand what is being said. but i do agree that the overall sentiment does seem to be that something is missing... the bridge of sand says a lot. drowning, in spite of the fact that you know how to swim says even more. but esu giving you the green light to work with yemoja? i don't see it. this does not strike me as an orisa-related dream at all. what kind of bridge is made of sand? how does a person who knows how to swim start to drown?
I swear this is how dreams work
years ago i had a vivid dream of me yelling the name of orunmila
i wonder what it means
I was so confused when I woke up.
very interesting... you should take my course on dream analysis. www.obafemio.com/classes
I dreamt about seeing beads and it reminding me of Papa Legba. I was looking at the beads and thinking of him. For some reason I woke up in fear...
I wanna know what this means...
Why I keep having class room dream. I guess I should stay learning
Damnnn sis me too.. did you ever find out?
That is very interesting to know.
I am not even (I think) of African blood (half Korean mom/ Italian dad....but my children part African American thru their father blood) and I thought some people say Ifa/Santeria was primary for those of African descent. But I've always been sort of a "medium" type, very sensitive of spiritual dimensions and how can I put it, "knowing" certain things unconsciously 🙏
you are absolutely welcome. my experience has been that orisa lifestyle facilitates self discovery. people from all walks of life can discover their roots through ifa.
