About the upcoming album 'Eternally Yours':
Alphaville, Germany’s biggest synth-pop export and creator of the legendary 80s anthems “Big in Japan”, “Sounds like a Melody” and “Forever Young”, has decided to go symphonic. The band is doing things on the grand scale and catapulting the band’s 40 years of greatest hits out of the orbit of synthesizers and rhythm machines into the world of the human sound machine, the symphony orchestra. “Eternally Yours” is more, much more, than a mere translation of the songs into the sound spectrum of a great orchestra. What it amounts to, rather, is a symbiosis of Marian Gold’s unique vocal capacities, the original Alphaville sound and the majestic power and rich timbres of the concert-hall-sized German Film Orchestra of Babelsberg.
“Eternally Yours” is about the everlasting theme of endurance and evanescence. The lyrics of songs from the past four decades were written predominantly by Gold himself. One central theme for Alphaville and Gold has always been the dream: “We really get around quite a lot, we’ve played almost everywhere, in our heads and out of our heads. All that goes into our music, into the idea of what Alphaville could be. It is like a never-ending dream. Those who hear our music hear fragments of this dream.” The title-track, specifically written for this event comes across like an amorous farewell letter. “I didn't write a single line of my own for this song. All the words and all the ideas come from Shakespeare's Sonnetts. All I did was recompile and minimally adjust them, so as to make them more singable for me.”
“All 23 musical pieces on this album have been essentially clarified by their arrangement, they’re stripped clean, released, set free. Their true nature has been revealed.” Gold and his two arrangers Max Knoth and Christian Lohr have given this album the sonic ambience that matches the musical content of its songs. The songs don’t sound overblown, either, they’re not pushed beyond their limits - on the contrary, the album has such natural, warm, even familiar tones that listening to it, you wonder why there haven’t been more symphonic arrangements of Alphaville songs in the past. Gold goes so far as to say: “When I hear it, ‘Eternally Yours’ really does sound as if it were actually the first Alphaville album - except that for forty years, it lay unreleased. We simply didn’t have access to an orchestra in those days.”
The album “Eternally Yours” by Alphaville with the German Film Orchestra Babelsberg will be released with @NEUE MEISTER on September 23, 2022.

The personal stories of the members of Alphaville's first two line-ups and the story of the band have many interesting elements that could constitute the script for a movie:Marian often changed jobs.He stopped doing it when he had the chance to devote himself to the vocation of writing and singing songs.And he has kept the band alive even after its first members have left;Bernhard,one of the best composers of all time,wanted to be a DJ;Frank spoke little,answered with monosyllables and rarely said a few more or less long sentences.But music was one of the things he loved most.So,when they told him that Bernhard was the only person in his town who owned a synthesizer,he wanted to meet him;Ricky never got tired of dancing while playing;Alphaville members have written more masterpieces than any other band.Inventing a good song is very difficult.It is incredible that they have managed to invent so many.Probably,Alphaville is unsurpassable;None of them has ever been aware of their own worth;Etc..It would be useless to give good advice to people who don't want to apply themselves to doing something well because they don't love it.Apart from rare exceptions,after 1962 neither great composers of melodies nor great singers were born.

With so many changes that Alphaville had over the years, it's a wonder to me that this band still existed and had continued to make music and I admire the strength of Marian keeping this Band going, with what ever changes in the Band was taking place.
I do admit that the very first Alphaville band, is my favorite and my soul band, but I do admire a lot all others formers and actual members of Alphaville, for their amazing work 💖and contributions, bringing this Band to the highest levels.

A Victory of Love, my absolute favorite song of Alphaville. I got shivers only listening to the little part at the end of the video and I am so waiting to hear the symphonic version. When I listened to it the first time in 1984 from the album , it immediately went inside my blood and it is there since then, and every time I listen to it, live or in the album, is always like a transfusion . The lyrics are beautiful, and the song itself I believe could have been a great single release. So happy that it is there. I also have always imagined it played by an Orchestra and with the addition of a soprano voice in the parts when it arise. I could write a tome about this song, really. 😅
