Soviet March (Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3) - James Hannigan

Soviet March Reprise (Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3) - James Hannigan
A couple of tidbits and stuff:
The last hit of 1,2,1 is a CH launcher, though it's not very likely to CH someone in a match
qcf+3 launches on CH at tip range instead of going into the attack throw, pick up with WS+4
Shame you didn't mention d/b+2,1,2, it's not a bad string
The better way of landing f+3 after S! is to do a dash into f+3+4, which can be made easier by using button buffering.
Better f+1+2 combo: exchange the f+2,4 for qcf+2 for 1 more point of damage . This works after any S! launcher (CH (b+1),2, CH (4),4, CH (WS+1),2 and CH (f+3),2). I also prefer doing 4,1 instead of d+4,4 at the end as it gives much better oki for only 2 fewer points of damage.
b+3 is a good i14 punish option by the wall
WS+1+2 should be mentioned, it has much better range than WS+1,3
Also, absolutely love your music choices in this.
Thank you very much for all this! Yes we really wanted to include an analysis of d/b+2,1,2, but at 18 minutes we were already pushing the time limit for what we're trying to achieve with this series. All this information will certainly be in the complete breakdown though.
Definitely thanks for the feedback!
I can fill in a few things here: the full-length guide has a lot of this(I go into 1,2,1 in pretty high detail there for example, b+3 by the wall, etc)-but for short guides like this I admit I struggled trying to figure out what to keep and what to save for the full-length(and this one still pushed almost 18 minutes! compared to Jack.) It was tough to be sure, but I had decided that the more intricate stuff(and more detailed stuff) would be gone into heavier in the big future five-parter(you can see the big guide in the description link at Tekken Zaibatsu.) Generally for combos I was picking simpler staples for a beginner so I didn't go into the total most optimized setups and went more for bang-for-buck BnBs that can get a brand new person started.
So it was sorta down to trying to pull the 'keep it simple' method and it was pretty painful figuring what to mention and what to cut, but in hindsight a couple more of these things should have been mentioned. That being said, they will be all mentioned in the giant full length(and then we tend to take more feedback for the big all-in one at the end!)
Again thanks for the feedback! Just wanted to go a little into the thought process for trying to figure out what to keep for essentials/save for the big full-length.
I definitely understand, there's only so much you can cover in a given amount of time. Thanks for the response, I'm looking forward to the full guide.
Aris is better than this one in terms of Dragunov
H
Dragunov's Running 2 is almost as Iconic as Paul's Death Fist or the Mishima's Electric.
88Hyo people should start to call it by the name. It's "Russian Assault" if i'm not mistaken. Pretty good name for an iconic move
Claudio's Running 2 is also an iconic move.
@@thefirestone8705 bruh
@@thefirestone8705 no
pauls death fist is absolute cancer. dont even go there.
The first video I've ever watched about tekken 7 was your character overview so I could choose my first character. And now, a few months later, you''re making guides about the character I've started with! Thanks a lot man, my experience as a tekken newbie would've been much worse if wasn't for your videos!
Glad to hear it man! Hope you're enjoying Tekken.
I am! I'm still getting my ass handed to me more often than I would like but thats part of the experience
@@nineoclock171 whats your rank now?
@@AKGaming-oj8hk right now i'm mighty ruler with gigas
@@nineoclock171 wow you really took tekken seriously. Do you play Dragunov
Russian officer keeping opponents in Czech :(
Some Czechs like to play with Dragunov tho :D
Ffs took me so long to get to joke XD
Top Notch Sir!
That's sly
10/10 choice for music
With getting the step kick as a follow up, if you hold 3 after doing your screw move, then dash up and press forward 4, you will always get the step kick. This is button buffering, and it works because dragunov doesn't have a forward anything 3+4 move, so you can literally press forward forward forward 4 while holding 3 to get the stepkick. Just some handy tips to make it easier
Hellcreature36 Thanks for mentioning this! This is when i remember I put the buffer tutorial in the giant full length guide in the description but not in the small one. It's indeed helpful though!
Thanks for the tip!
No problem, great video by the way!
This doesn't work on keyboard I guess I've tried it..
You can do it without it also but you need to be fast
A good in-depth analysis for Dragunov. Where have you been all my life?
Oh man, now I am gonna have to train more against Drag more since everyone on Steam plays him and is gonna see this.
Nice vid!!
I would like to share a small tip about dashing in to use f+3 crouch dash cancel to catch your opponent when they had been lauched far from you after a screw move:
HOLD DOWN 3 before starting the dash.
Since there is no f+3+4 move on Dragunov's move list, the game will allow you to tripple dash avoiding the f,f+3 situations and letting you reach your opponent with the f,3 crouch dash cancel.
Example: qcf+1 / f+4,4,3 / 1 / f+3, d/f, u, 1 / f+1+2 S! / (HOLD 3) f,f,f+4 (REALEASE 3) d/f, ws 1+2
Yes, theres is no mistake, you have to hold down 3 and use the 4 instead for the f+3 command. As I mentioned, the game will detect f+3 the same way since there is no move related to this command on Dragu's move list and also prevent the f,f+3 situations if your opponent went too far after the screw move.
EDIT: Take a look at LOVELAIN video on his channel and pay attention to move notations on the screen, you'll see what I'm talking about! :D
Hope it helps!
The tetris music got me weak when it kicked in. Great video btw.
As a newer Tekken player, Sergei is definitely my favorite.
On another note, I already made some custom outfits!
Red and Blu Spy, Trumpet Skeleton, The Joker and Shadma- I mean, a well known and very family friendly artist.
lolicon dragunov confirmed.
@@88blankets5 Yes...maybe. I don't know. I also shifted to Akuma. This is outdated. The costumes stand though.
I don't see how anyone can give this video a thumbs down. Awesome breakdown of this character. Thank you for putting it together.
Tbh I already knew about dragunov stuff because I've plaid him for a while now but you video was so well made I stayed just to watch it.
These are the premiere Tekken guides. Amazing production quality and extremely informative/easy to understand. Hope to see more.
I love you guys for using RA's Hell March ❤️
Ember God *cough* Soviet March *cough*
Ember God yes!!!!
Great video, lots of help, and not sure if it was mentioned. But for those struggling to crouch dash cancel for the combo after F1+2, follow up with a gcf+2, 3,1, F+1, F+3 into sneak (DF), 1+2. Gives the same damage of 58 as the crouch cancel combo
you make the best guides for tekken 7 hands down
LOVE your videos and I really hope you come out with an episode for Master Raven soon. A character that I've never touched but absolutely want to learn fast.
Thanks dude. Actually Master Raven is a character I want to learn more about myself too! Currently talking with a pro Raven player for a guide.
Great work
I laughed when I heard the Brawl Tetris theme lol great video!
Great video as always ! :) Makes me almost want to play as Dragunov now ! ^^
4:40 the korobeiniki in the background is such a nice touch. This rendition for smash bros is fantastic btw!
I come back to this vid like once a week, and it has helped me climb about 5 ranks so far
This is my first video to watch in your channel.. And you, sir, have just won a loyal fan!!.. Go on.. Will check if you made an Ep for Steve..
Thank you sir! Steve is scheduled for episode 7, and I'll be working extra hard on it as he's my main :)
I love that you go into depth with the details in ALL of your videos. I'm impressed and I'm known as a critic amongst my friends lol.
Q U A L I T Y
Love the way how you explain things keep uploading great stuff waiting for your next videos
it's really interesting how most of the SF4 stuff was written down and to be found on eventhubs, while most of the tekken stuff is on youtube. i gave up my search for b&b combos in tekken because i couldn't find anything written down and i was so used to not finding good tutorials on youtube due to my experience with SF4.
Please return to making these, they are helping me and my friends up our game tremendously. Seriously, we casual scrubs need you.
jesus, what a beast
Dragunov likes Bradinsky? Now i can never unhear it lmao!
I feel like I say this everytime I watch one of your videos, but christ these are goods. Thank you for doing them, they're probably the best way to learn a new character in tekken, and they're so cool to watch
Absolutely loved the use of C&C OST.
Videos like this are extremely helpful. Thank you for this!!
How can anyone not love Sir Gay? :')
munem939 because he's fucking op and annoying as hell to play against
its E, real pronunciation would be "Seargei"
He is fun to play against, matches are intense against him.
atpCap
I love you man! you make it so easy to figure out which characters do what. Makes it easier for me to pick who is right for me ,and who I should stay away from.
just excellent it helped me understanding Drag and now will pick up and fight more strong aginst him
Thanks Blasted salami
Glad to hear it man!
a complete break down would have been nice, but this is dope too
WOW! This was TOO GOOD!!
Top tier choices in music
Brilliant overview. Your production is quality
Super informative and clear info! This will definitely help me a lot!
Love DAT Solviet March from Red Alert 3.
14:55 You don't have to press back and then forward. You can just do fff+3+4(running 3+4) and you'll get f+3. It's much easier than to dash and press back~forward+3. Also you have to press less buttons: fff instead of ffbf, assuming you're using buttons for 1+2, 3+4. If you're not using them, well, you should start.
That's a secret TZ Discord tech btw. Come join us if you're not on TZ Discord.
good stuff
Yay A new video from my beloved Senpai
This BGMs are dope!
Thank you for the solid knowledge Senpai
That is wonderful guide series. Thank you so much. I look forward to more characters you introduce. And I also wonder about whether there is a document like Julia's or not.
man, Dragunov kicking ass with Korobejniki playing in the background is the most apt shit ive ever seen
thanks for the slowmo running 2's, first time i saw that murderous facial expression he gets before he does it
Great! Waiting your guide on Paul
Maurice Phoenix d,d/f,f+2 Repeat 10000000000000 times.
Krish Bhalla I wish especially if its 13f execution. Stagger when hit, counter or guard. Track both sides, Plus 20 when hit 25 when counter. Sadly it isn't 😂😂😂
Maurice: Thanks! Paul is in the works.
Krish: Deathfist is launch punishable on block by a decent chunk of the cast unless done at tip range, in which case you run the risk of it getting backdashed and again launch punished. Even if you lack a decent block punisher, it's very weak to SSR. Not denying it's an amazing move with a crazy comeback factor, but it does have weaknesses and can be very risky.
That Blasted Salami Exactly...trying to hit on the tip is risky too. A little but back dash it's gone...Totally 50:50 kind of character
God yes! Loved it, will you cover almost every chatacter? Which one are u planning to cover next?
Blank AMV I think they said that Steve was next.
Long-form guides are looking at Steve, Drag and Yoshi(the Jin-like guides in length.) Essentials are still being hashed out at the moment! (I believe Bryan was up very shortly for essentials.)
Thank you! Yes we plan to cover the entire roster. Bryan and Kazumi are coming up next.
Damn.. you guys are the best
You can extend the step in of FF 3 by either inputting FFF 3, for an instant slight extension, or by holding the second or third F input just a second or two. If I'm not mistaken, you can get up to the 3rd step of a run before launching it. It looks just like an incoming WR 2... Until its too late.
This is such a good video, and so much longer than I expected. Can you do one on Jin? EDIT: Sorry, didn't see that you already made one.
Theron1480 Yeah, I just noticed. He should do one on me, not that noob.
Amazing vid! Very insightful and detailed! Great music, too. You sir just got yourself a sub!
Sergei
Korean Drags do the F+3 from running by inputting F+3+4.This way you will never drop it.
Stratosfear the God Thank you for this!
Korean russians?
But you still have to master the crouch cancel.
Tq man
Awesome, keep doing these videos
Bruh, the red alert theme threw me back into so much nostalgia hahah
I mother Russia, game juggels you
now that is *OUR* hero
Great video! Now this can really help me on using Dragunov even better! Can you please make also a Yoshimitsu Essentials?
Nice work bro !
Man i didn't know your video. But damn it helps me a lot in understanding the characters (dragunov and others). You must be quite a tekken player.
But thanks for the video and for all the advice in it.
I usually throw iWR2 after the opponent throw a move that gives them 0 to -7. for new players want to practice iWR moves, try doing qcf+2 then iWR2 if it hits, youre doing it correctly.
my Main character, thanks for the guide !!!
Team up of The Blasted Salami AND Chemical Lovers ? Now that's some GOOD SHIT
Red Army Choir music in the background...
It fits the character;)
Actually you can buffer f3 dash by holding 3 or 4 while running then press f3+4. It is easier than tapping back in the middle of the combo.
Thanks for this! This is already noted in the pinned comment.
Amazing video
My fav character so far is dragunov
QCF+1 bread and butter worked with the 2nd combo as well.
What are those things in the notation with lowercase "i's" in them? Like i22 for u/f+4? That's the only part I haven't figured out yet.
Glossary: www.tekkenzaibatsu.com/wiki/Glossary
"i" mean start-up frames. For example i13 means it comes out in 13 frames.
That Blasted Salami Thanks!
I dont have tekken 7 but if you have one try this down+back+o that is a fucking op move that people didn't know
Thanks bro it really helps me 👌
Wow
Dude, this video is reaallyyyy awesome!!
Great guide! also I don't know if you've posted this already, but do you have an actual list on the order of characters you're planning to make a guide on? Thanks!
The next 5 will be Bryan, Kazumi, King, Lee, Steve :)
Best tutorial ever
Paul Complete Breakdown
Best guide
Dragunov looks exactly like the antagonist from ‘Flying sword of the dragon gate’
Damn this is good. Subbed right away. Does dragunov have any counter hit moves that give high damage combos (>55) without having to whiff anything? I may have missed it in this video back I can't find any
Those were the days :((
"A grab game, second only to King."
Did you guys forget about Nina?
Still IMO his is better than Nina's, who has a solid grab game but not as good as Drag.
Better assortment of grabs and his are utilized a lot more in high level play. Drag players get good mileage out of f,f+1+2(including its floor breaking capability giving this one pretty huge damage potential), uf+3+4(by a wall in particular, unbreakable, this is gone into more in the long guide), the Victor throws(particularly after plus frames), straight 50/50s when it comes to some things(like his chain grab), and the fact that his tackle was only topped by Marduk in terms of safety, and since Marduk isn't in this game that puts him at the top of the tackle game(given his reversal ability.) He does lack the plethora of stuff King has which solidifies King at the top but Drag's overall grab/tackle game in tandem is stronger than about anyone else in the cast. (If Marduk were to make it back he'd take the 2nd spot though.)
That tetris song in the back
Please make Marshall law essentials video please🤗
In my opinion the best combo for beginners that has guranteed 74 damage from qcf2 is
qcf2, 44,dash, 44,f1+2
The apocalypse has arrived.
my fave tekken character besides hwoarang!
You mean Whorerang.
Playing melee an now learning tekken makes the tougher inputs less difficult to hit. The animations one looks for sre easier to recognise. Crouch dash cancel into f3 or what ever is not as big of a task to grind
I thought CD into ws4 after CH wr2 was the staple combo? And d/b 2,1,2 is good wall combo as the last hit hits grounded if delayed slightly for more damage. Also 1,3,2 as a wall combo gives good damage oki too.
RIP d+2 😢
Hell March from C&C is such a great song for Dragunov wtf lol
Great, now I have more knowledge on how to punish Dragunov with Raven. Even though I do not have much problem against him.
Make a Kazuya breakdown.
12:49
Actually, if you see Dragunov doing the low sweep at all, just hop kick.
Instant WR2 tutorial starts at - 3:24
can someone pls tell me what all of the notaion is, i know F,B,U,D qcb qcf and shit. nut its things like 15 and KND/TFU and the ~ thing. much appreciated ty
Yo these are really good man like well done on them 👏 should do steve next just sub too
How do you cancel into his f f 2 throw cancel during strings?
You are good
