We camp a lot. I try to limit my spices to save space but I hate not having all my favorites. The pill organizer idea is such a great solution! Thanks for sharing. :)
Please DO NOT FRY ANYTHING in a can, cans contain an interior plastic lining, which can burn! Forms of cooking without direct heat are fine, such as pressure cooking and boiling or steaming, but please do not hold it near dry heat like a campfire or try to fry something in it.
I do this at home . You can make strong Ice Tea freeze in ice cube tray . Put them in a slider bag. When you want tea put one or two in a glass of water .
As for a can opener, go to a surplus, camping store, or on line and get a few of the old military issue P-38 can openers. It folds flat and can be carried in a wallet, purse,or on a key ring. It's not fast, but it works
And never forget to use twice as much as you actually need! That being said, I never realized camping involved so much plastic as well, even the cutlery. I must've been doing it wrong all these years. Thanks to this video, I now know the proper way!
That egg in a bottle is such a simple hack that I've completely overlooked it!! All this time I've been bringing a dozen eggs with me everytime I went out 😂
@@anitasplaylistklassen6320 look at the ingredients in the liquid egg beaters. Xerium gum, folic acid and a bunch of other preservatives. Cracking eggs and putting them in a bottle like that makes the eggs go bad FAST. Not a good idea if you’re looking to camp and eat them for a few days.
if when you are freezing food in zip lock bags freeze them flat. Them they will fit in your cooler like books. If it is something like chicken you are going grill do not fill the bag too much. 2 or 3 thin blocks of frozen chicken is a lot easier to cook than a 2 or 3 inch block..
If you put whole cloves in the apples, like nails going through the skin, as well as raisens, cinnamon and nutmeg in the center that tastes delicious too.
One of the changes I would make to update this video is to simply wrap all of the items that you would normally wrap in aluminum foil and cook, with a layer of parchment paper first, and then the foil, to prevent foods from absorbing aluminum while cooking. Great, fun video. Thanks.
Most kitchen parchment paper now has a plastic coating to help with non-stick, so either way you're getting things in your body you probably don't want. :)
@@nrgltwrkr2225 Yep you're right, silicone or that lovely teflon rubbish. But silicone is also a synthetic monomer in which silica is only one ingredient. Unfortunately there have been very few studies done on the leaching potential of silicone. There are a few scattered studies that suggest silicone will leach endocrine disruptors, especially when in contact with high-fat content material. Among other things. Worth looking into. :) I can't say I'm particularly borthered either way, as I don't use kitchen supplies in this fashion. But jumping down research rabbit holes can be entertaining. :)
Lmao this is such a Karen type myth come one. Aluminum foil doesn't leech into food to the point it's an issue for humans. If yes then please provide your proof/sources.
We cook a lot of our food before we go camping. We have smoked ribs and vacuum sealed them and froze them. We boil them in our dutch oven at our campsite. If works for breakfast burritos and several other foods too. We came up with this idea when we tent camped in the Smoky Mountains , when we have to cautious about the beans
That pill case hack is great. I always think about how to spare some space and weight. Its a huge difference if you have a dozen glasses or just a box with you. I will give this a try.
This is the best camp hack video I've seen so far. All the rest say the same thing. I hadn't considered putting the eggs in a bottle! Now I won't have another messy bowl to clean up!
can openers are only a buck at dollar tree, so that is a no brainer to bring one. rest assured, you can also pop popcorn just like those jiffy pops when you buy 2 tins at dollar tree, put some oil, use a metal coathanger for the handle and put aluminum over it to pop it. YES it will expand, so leave it room to do so. as for the other hacks, those are pretty cool.
Please do not keep cooked potatoes wrapped in aluminum wrap. By depriving the potato of air you can breed botulism in the potato and no amount of reheating will get rid of it. If you want to partially cook the potatoes put them in a container unwrapped to take with you and then rewrap them right before you reheat them
Some of these are pretty good tips, but that one where you wear away the metal rim on the can of tuna....um, nope. No way I'm eating all those metal filings that are bound to get into the food (even if I was inclined to ever eat tuna, which I'm not).
When out in the wilderness far from a hospital i surely want to eat popcorn out of sharp soda can.. I mean if it's not intended for eating out of then why even bother considering basically *everyone* brings some form of stainless mug to boil shit in etc.
Nah pancakes in the Morning ON Coleman is the BEST!!! No waiting for fire, boom on w your day, bacon in other pan on Coleman, by the way😜, professional
Most of these are pretty cool and useful. I have used them. The one I would avoid is the eggs in the bottle. Just buy Egg Beaters in a carton. Once you crack eggs like that, the quality and safety is tricky.
We always did that with parents. Best tasting potatoes ! Ever! Who need meet!?? With all those roasted zuccinis, tomatoes, bell peppers , corn, parsnip and peaches with honey!!! Non of us missed meat at all. And we are not vegetarians
okay fair point but I have to say--I've had these. They look terrible but they're pretty damn tasty. You can also use other fillings, if the caramel is too much gooey sugar for you; chopped nuts, dried fruits, etc.

Thanks for the warning. Persons like you helps to a lot of people
depends on the can, man.
Those lining are 80% BPA (in most cases) be carful!
I've been doin it for years, but that may be what's wrong with me😂Good advice!

50 shades of aluminium
How to waste aluminium like a pro.
That egg in a bottle is such a simple hack that I've completely overlooked it!! All this time I've been bringing a dozen eggs with me everytime I went out 😂
That's how i used to make instant pudding
You don’t even have to mix them together. You can break into a plastic jar (i.e., empty mayo jar) and they will pour out separately when used.
How long are they good for like that ?
@Lu Cheng how do they sell liquid eggs in the store then? They are all broken.

I love the No Mess s'mores, especially for camping with grandkids! Or actually with anyone LOL. Sticky Fingers was a great album though 🤘🤣

I like the eggs one in a bottle.gonna try that.
Anybody else die inside when they saw the metal spatula on the nonstick pan?
I died when I saw them cut the onion and throw it in the bag with the damn skin on it....
Yes! Every time! In real life too- I don't get why people do that .. and a metal fork!?! No metal on metal please. :)
How about the egg in what looks like an old used water bottle. Yuck.
You can literally see them scratch it too 🤮

Okay. That weekly pill container for spices is genius. I was trying to try and free some space and this is perfect. Thanks!
Large dice pumpkin, butter, brown sugar, walnuts, pinch salt sprinkle of ginger or cinnamon. Fire bake until pumpkin is tender. Turn regular.
The Carmel apple bombs look good!
I use the pillcase spice rack. it's a great idea
Love the background music!
This video is very cool. gave me an inspirations Thnx
I made apple cabbage stew on a camping trip and it's a good thing to try
that herbs inside pill case is amazing fairplay

Thx for a bunch of good ideas. Some can be used in your home, not just camping.
the smores idea was best
The taco fixings thing is also called a Walking Taco and is used with Doritos instead of corn chips. Delicious!
Fritos are the way.
We did something similar with Fritos and chili and call it a Frito pie. Used to eat them at my dad's softball games
I just got back from camping - Too bad I didn't see this before! Great tips for next time! Thanks for sharing.
Using a pill minder for spices? Why didn't I think of that?🤭 I'm definitely going to try the baked apple with caramel next camping trip.
Cool simple ideas! I will be trying them!
pre scramble eggs.........nice one
The hacks are so useful
You must play that song every time you cook!
You just saved my life!!!
The only time you have to poke holes in a potato is if you are microwaving it. A potato baking otherwise will not explode.
Modelo popcorn I’m in lol
Awesome ideas!!
You can actually cook potatoes all the way in a campfire in the embers.

Where do you recycle the aluminium foil after using it to cook in? Are there alternatives?
Take it home with you. Recycle it there.
Definitely gonna try the apple one
Anybody know what brand chips they used for the first meal?
Fritos?
Definitely going to try some.
great hacks we could use for the war

PLEASE, take all of that used aluminum foil and make sure it gets in the trash and not left in the fire after use. These are some great ideas!

Here's an idea they ought to add to the camping ideas I cook the meat I take camping to me it's less likely to spoil
The "walking taco" idea is so popular right now, chip companies are making bags for this purpose
Or just get one of those jiffy pop things. It’s a lot easier.
dont do the popcorn in a can one the inside of all cans are lined with plastic and it will definitely melt onto the popcorn
