Thank you very much for this video bro. I’m getting rotator cuff surgery December 19th, next Tuesday. I’m angry about it, but those are the consequences of ego lifting in my teens and 20s. Now I’m 43 and smartened up. I’m not going to just sit around feeling sorry for myself. I’m going to definitely go for walks, lift light weights on my good side and work legs. Also, I can still hit the heavy bag left handed and still get a good workout in. Every other video I’ve watched for the past few weeks were lame, self pity, and just pure laziness. Regardless, I am determined to stay physically active while healing my right shoulder. Watching your video just confirms that I’m on the right track. I appreciate your courage and non laziness attitude. It is will and self worth, respect , smart workouts, and determination that will heal me quicker in the end. Also, continuing a clean diet. Thank you again for your video. Much respect 🫡👍🏻👍🏻💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻👊🏻👊🏻👊🏻🥊🥊🥊

I just had my second rotator cuff surgery, and I must say, your videos and information, are spot on. My first rehab was brutal, and I've learned that being too passive, as instructed, was the cause. Taking it upon myself to medicate properly, while getting more aggressive with passive range of motion, during the first week, has provided massive gains over the first surgery. i hope that many others find your videos.

Thank you for the feedback. All the best with your recovery. There's definitely this sense after surgery that the repair is extremely vulnerable. I think the best physios are actively trying to dispel this myth and get patients moving more normally again ASAP.

    Here's a revised version:
"I'm booked for surgery next Friday to reattach my supraspinatus and infraspinatus tendons. Being an active CrossFitter, your video gave me more confidence about the rehab and the entire process I'm about to undergo. Thanks for sharing this video."

Awesome, wishing you all the best for the surgery. I don't think we can underestimate how better the prognosis is for someone super active compared to sedentary folks. Your shoulder going in is going to be so much stronger!

@@cfmc6201 3 months after surgery and thirst completed the first month of rehab which was mainly passive movements. I have the full range back front and side but really almost nothing on extra rotation. Starting slowly adding some weight and working out. A lot of back squatting with the safety bar and deadlift at 60% of my pb. I’m happy. Everything seems to go in the right direction

Great video. Most are so dry and generic. I’m also active, started work again as a personal trainer.
I had hip replacement 9 weeks ago and shoulder surgery 3 weeks.

I have a question. You showed an animated video of a full thickness tear and said that you just did PT to get back to your sporting level, I think and that it was before you had to have surgery. Is that correct? I am asking because I had a full thickness tear of my super with 65.5 cm retraction and my infra with a 2.5 retraction. After talking to a very well known surgeon he said that it was not fixable with a graft just a replacement or a tendon reattach with a back muscle, which did sound better to me. But now that I know I have time, I wanted to try to do what you did the first time around. It seems to me that you had great success before tearing something else? So when you did just do PT was it a full thickness tear? If so what was your PT routine? This would make for a very good video. Your story is very good and you would be shocked at the number of people who have had similar injuries. Anyway I hope that all is still going well and thanks for the great videos!

When I initially injured my shoulder the scan showed a full thickness tear of my supraspinatus and a biceps tendon subluxation. I would have to go back and dig out everything i did rehab-wise back then. I know I did a lot of Cuban rotations starting very light 2.5kg and building up to doing them with a 20kg barbell. I also did lots of 30 degree trap 3 raises, side lying external rotations, side-lying abductions. The aforementioned are what I would classify as rotator-cuff specific rehab but I was also doing a very high volume of training at the time including hand-balancing, gymnastics strength work on the rings, crawling/locomotion drills on the floor.
