No one expects dwarves to be a rush army... so bringing it would totally be a great idea, OF COURSE :D!!!!!! Rushing iron breakers new best tactic 2017 world championship.
They did add new vanguard deployable dwarf units recently. Have some bugman rangers bait them in as the slayers close the distance. ...although that's not really a rush army, is it?
I cant recall ever commenting on a youtube video, but had to relay my thanks for your awesome videos. Informative, easy to understand and great visual examples makes for great overall execution, cheers!
Tactic: sneak army. A sneak army is an army almost interly made of stalk units (skaven and greenskins are the best at it). You use it by moving your troops closely and attacking your enemy prefferably when they are out of artillery. This kind of army is extremely fun to play and is very effective against ranged armies but strugles against rush armies because of their many melee units
The real problem with rush armies is to manage to get the good matchup as the defensive player will have time to reorganize its units to make his units face the type of damage there are not susceptible too. The flanking part is also essential, but that's easy when you outnumber the enemy. If you can't get the good matchups against dwarves with your crippled units, even if you surround them and are fighting their querellers, your guys will flee before theirs. Yet, I got this feeling that playing 100% defensive is rarely the good answer. I mean, you have to engage at some point. I used to play this against IA in all TW games and it worked because of the IA way of doing things. But with the armor penetration thing, it's more than obvious that you can't sit until the enemy engages. Good video as always! I just wanted to add some contribution.
“the enemy has spent a lot of money on those artillery so they wont have a lot of units” Me sweating with my 400 skavenslaves 300 clanrats 120 storm-vermin 2 units of warplock jezzails and 1 unit of ratling gunners and 4 plaugeclaw catapults
You should do a video on the empire's mechanics, and how to best counter their pushes. I'm having real trouble beating the empire at the moment, really strong faction.
Zerkovich Haha you're right. I just lumped together your guide and tactics videos. Because I FIRST write THEN think. Maybe I should reconsider this way of doing things.
I would have really like a Dwarf Ranger hero/lord. One of their special traits is to be able vanguard deploy a certain number of units that normally won't be able to vanguard delpoy.
Yeah - against dwarves I like to force them to rush with my greenskins. I brought 4 rock lobbers last match, and he had yo trudge towards me, letting me flank his artillery & thunderers. And since I was gobbo heavy I still outnumbered him in melee by a lot.
Would the Elves be functional in this capacity at all? Rushing melee infantry to lock up enemy infantry and then bring in wardancers/wild riders around? I'm still working on finding my go to tactic for Elven units. I watched your two parter on them and will be testing your advice soon.
I'm guessing the unit costs would reduce your numbers too significantly to make it work, but how would a mostly if not all out cavalry makeup fair with these tactics you reckon?
Yeah rush the dwarfs in box formation which he doesn't know. You would of died horribly. Its really easy to put 4 to 5 units of archers with 1 aryt inside of melee box shield of armor. Even if you commit the smart way to 1 side of the box with all your force a simple 2 move command can stop you could since its such a small area. while you'll have to macro atleast 5 to 6 things to his 1 to break it, all the while being rained down by missles.
3:17 That is exactly how I feel every time I am playing a battle even against the AI lol. I watch many of your videos but nothing really seems to stick.
what counters rush? probably empire pisoliers tbh. as long as the enemy army doesn't have many or good ways to counter skirmishers. gah. as beastmen in campaign the pistoliers are the bane of my existence. still haven't figured the most effective way to deal with them.
Can't you see what their army looks like in the preparation part? If so then I suppose subtly changing units to other similar types that are better against their particular units would be a great idea although very dishonourable
Hey, Zerko. Old vid (a great one, by the way), new question. So, sometimes i get worried about my army's fatigue and even use the "walk" choice to move through long distances. In this technique, how can i manage fatique? Is it something to worry about? PS.: sorry if i made any gramatical mistake, i'm brazilian. Keep the good vids
In Warhammer I don't find fatigue to be a huge issue. I usually run everywhere, except up hills, unless under heavy fire. However, walking unless you need to run makes sense really. Can just fast forward game speed! If you're under Artillery fire. Best to run. If not, walking will save that little bit of extra fatigue.
How can you beat rush armies tho? I often tend to lose vs rush bc they punish me for bringing any archers whatsoever. Is the best way to adapt to become a rusher yourself?
Really gonna depend on the army compositions but, focusing your missiles on any flanking units is a start. As a rush army will probably be trying to flank you. Take away those units and they'll have to go through you. But I suppose if you brought like....6 units of Archers, you might just be in trouble haha
Very late answer :-D .... watch Turin play with the Dawi. Defensive armies often tend to blob and giving rushers a very easy time meaning that f.ex. missile units can´t overlap their missile fire. Turin does extremely wide formations with the Dawi at times making a rush very difficult and micro intensive, if one archer is compromised others will flank their attackers providing covering fire, furthermore use cheap units like miners to protect them.
40k's Tyranids are as based on the Zerg as the Zerg were on the Nids. Pre-Zerg Nids looked nothing like they do now, and a lot of things were changed post-Starcraft due to Blizzard's ideas from the Zerg. It's argued that the Zerg's origins and assimilation processes were changed in SC2 to further differentiate them from the Tyranids.
As a new player your videos are extremely helpful.
That's what I'm here for yo!

Only countered by the all great cannon rush army. Un equip that artillery and charge them down!
Two words...
Slayer. Army.
Oooohhhh... you 2 are right, that's much more gold efficient, Im sorry about my lack of knowledge
The mohawks make them aerodynamic 8)

This is the reason Vlad von Carstein is so good in campaign mode.
I like the vamps as a rush army. I'd like to see a vanguard only army in action.
Well, the vanguard deployment is good but the kicker is the exp gain boast for all units.
I mean, how else do you find a triple gold veterancy zombie?
Rush army tactics withouht VC counts video footage. Something gone wrong.

'Tis a mighty fine compliment to affect people enough to do something they wouldn't normally do. So thank you! Glad you enjoy my works. **fist bump**

Somebody wasn't following safety regulations...

Let Zerkovich show you how to rush through a warhammer tactics video in less than five minutes!
j/k Awesome video, pal!
All my Tactic vids are short usually. Trying to counter the long ass haul most of my videos are haha! Yooou son of a Squigg!
Zerkovich Haha you're right. I just lumped together your guide and tactics videos. Because I FIRST write THEN think. Maybe I should reconsider this way of doing things.
Good vid, mate. I hadn't thought about how you're using their investment in range against them!
I would have really like a Dwarf Ranger hero/lord. One of their special traits is to be able vanguard deploy a certain number of units that normally won't be able to vanguard delpoy.
That could be a cool trait. Depends if there was anything like that in the Table Top I guess.

1:40 blasting your own troops in the arse! lol
Unless you have Azhag as your legendary lord, rushing seems to be the only lore-friendly way to play the Greenskins.

Absolutely. People don't expect Elves to rush so it can work a treat online at least. Wardancers are of course very quick so they're great at it too.
1:42 oof that greatswords xD

I actually plan on doing a Nomad style Horse army online battle vid at some point. So we shall see! :D
Aawh that sounds great! Looking forward to it Zerk.
sent you and invite on steam would love to play some TW with you love this channel man keep up the good work

see you in the future!
hey ZERK, I have a request: GOON SQUAD TACTIC
Heretic!
Best dwarf tactic ever: SPAM MINERS RIGHT NEXT TO THE ENEMY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sounds like a spam plan but also quite amusing...
You want rush armies? Search beastmen slambush.
should rushing be the way to play the Greenskins in their more lore accurate way?
I suppose it would! But Total War doesn't HAVE to follow lore rules after all.
do you use any visual effect mods? that battlefield looks great
I do not. Pure vanilla Warhammer :D
Not gonna lie, that battle at 1:19 looks awfully familiar. Was that a Multi-player game or against AI?
Was a 2v2 Online Battle ya. I may have used it elsewhere. Not sure!
your name should be changed to ZERGOVICH
I don't get it haha. Am I missing something with that name?
Zerg means a player who outright rushes
Oh haha. Learn something new everyday!

ZERK RUSH!!!
*zerg*
First and I like this game play so far the rushing is smart
