Love you channel. I am an ex mini tour pro and after breaking my neck in a car accident and neck fusion I hit it about as far as you do. fantastic content, I was thinking of a channel but you have it covered sir. I really like your swing and advice. There are lots of channels with guys with swing speeds 90% of golfers only can dream about. If you play the correct tees and play the way you do one can still break par. Keep up the great work. That is a very impressive show you put on the 4th hole, from that distance I think 99% of golfers would love to be you. I see some golfers on here say they hit it an average distance with their 280 yard drives. You sir are not a short hitter but very average for distance and a stud for accuracy
My Cleveland hi-wood arrived today. I told my wife Mistah Short hitter made me buy it. First hit with this club was dead center and flew off the club. Thanks
Perfect! I have just been comparing the 3+ Cleveland hy-wood to their 5 wood. I have a Tour Edge 4 wood but as I've gotten older, want to take that out and replace it.
I have no comments to offer on these clubs, but some of your vids have me thinking about replacing my 3-hybrid with something else for long range approaches...holy smokes, 7.5 balls on the green from 200! Nice swinging.
Love your channel! It’s 2024 and considering taking my Ping G430 5W out of the bag for the 3+ Hy-wood. Dropped my 3 wood about 4 years ago, and have only the 5W. Finding as I age, 67, with a bad back, my swing speed down this may be a good option. I would sacrifice 5 yards. A year later is your still in the bag? Greetings from Buffalo NY
I have both the Cleveland 5 wood and the hywood and the hywood is a more accurate club for me. I don't have 200 yard approach shots. This club is a narrow tee shot or my second shot on a part 5 (I don't get on in 2 on par 5s) and in both cases, accuracy is far more important than 5-10 yards. Also worth noting that this hywood is the Cleveland three hybrid head with a longer shaft. There is no lie difference between the two. Cleveland makes really good golf clubs.
I’ve got the hywood and when I catch it I like it. I’m an extremely short hitter so I’m using this club a lot. I just need to learn how to hit it (and all of my clubs) better. I’m gonna play Sterling single length this year and see how that goes along with Cleveland launcher xl driver and Callaway steelhead X-ray 22deg hybrid. I may play every other iron to unbunch my gapping. Great things to think about at work haha!
Both my 5 wood and 3 hywood hits about 200-215. I did notice the hywood launched higher but i still prefer my 3 wood (honma tr21). I still get a draw bias on both clubs though. The hywood is stock while the 5 wood i built myself so maybe its a shaft thing
Number 4 at Woodruff is a tough club choice when there are folks on the Number 5 tee box, even though there is a screen/net. Hitting a five wood puts the folks on the box in trouble on a miss hit. More controllable Haywood looks like a win!
Great video. I did notice though that your chart show 5w and 3+Hywood both at 15 degrees of loft, while the Haywood is actually 18 degrees. Sure looks like a great easy to hit club though👍🏻
It seems mentally and physically you like the Hywood better. I noticed you had the Hywood further up in your stance, try moving the ball back a few inches in your stance. If you are hitting down on it you may catch it flush and earlier in the circle/arc. This may give you a straighter ball flight.
dropped the 3 wood for 5 wood. The 5 is very easy for me to hit and about 20 yards longer than the hywood. My 7 wood is also longer than the hywood, so I play 5, 7 wood, 4 hybrid. works best for me. Know a couple guys who dropped all fairways and love the hywood.
The Cleveland Hy-wod is easier to hit. No comparison from the initial rough, much easier. I would never try a 5-wood from there, just not sure where it might go. However the initial shaft is 40+ grams and too light for me. So I ordered one with the 60+ gram hybrid shaft. Probably lost some launch and distance but it suits my swing and it bombs almost 200. Good enough. Pretty accurate off the tee. 200+ yard par 3 is a winner.
MAybe you mentioned it but are you hitting the 40 gram stock shaft in this club or was there other options available.. I would need stiff flex and unsure about hitting a 40 gram shaft

Hey Mistah. We have similar distances with Orr clubs. My driver SS is roughly 92-95. Getting Hywood but can't decide on R or S flex. What are you using?
I went with the R flex. Seems about perfect for me. I highly recommend this club. It changed my game from 190. My club speed right now is around 91-93mph. I have a link in the description for purchasing.. Let me know if you order it and how you like it. Thank you so much!
@@mistahshorthitter 7 wood and 3+ Hybrid top close to the same distance? Funny I have the same problem you have 3W not consistent enough and cant hit it 200 yards. When you find that great 4W let me know. Right now I'm playing Callaway 3W AI adjusted to 17 degrees and not much farther than the 7 Wood and not nearly consistent enough
I just messed with this yesterday at a 2nd hand trade-in place in my city... They only had one and it had a regular flex shaft, which isn't for me, as my club head speed when I was hitting practice shots in their sim with it was over 100... and yet I was still carrying this thing 230+ yards off the mat consistently. I suspect their sim is deliberately tweaked to exaggerate distances to sell clubs (i.e. by setting the elevation to mount Everest or something) but nonetheless, it's clearly outpacing my low irons by a significant enough margin to be worth putting in the bag. Ordered one in stiff flex, very excited about it.
Thank you for response. My last is did you go with regular flex? Or stiff flex? That's my big question before I pull the trigger. Our yardages are very similar so I would trust what you were happy with. Because I want your swing!

Thank you for watching! More coming soon. I may do a video on that. If not, I'll get some numbers for you. The Hywood is definitely longer than the 7 wood. It will be interesting to compare ball flight. They both launch pretty high.
What I noticed when you changed to a face on view was your ball position was too far forward like a driver. It should be slightly forward of center where with the club right behind the ball the shaft is at dead center. You will hit the ball higher on the face and the ball will get more hight and distance.
@@mistahshorthitter I would encourage you to make an honest video exploring different ball positions when using a wood. not sure if it's fair to blame a 142 yd-ish shot solely on the club. everyone makes a bad swing once in a while, seems seems more likely the cause of that very short shot to the rough - not saying the 5 wood isn't harder to hit well, but I don't think that one shot is relevant.
I went back and rewatched the video. I said the worst shot and the most difficult club to hit out of the 2 goes to the 5 wood. Both statements are true. Thank you for watching!
@@mistahshorthitter I want to test the Wilson Fywood I recently bought against my TS2 7 wood to see if there is any difference. My swing speed is a little less than yours at 90 mph with Driver.
