Ryder Downey, UNI Wrestling Freshman
Ryder Downey started wrestling at a young age but really fell in love with the sport at Indianola High School where he was a four time Iowa High School state medalist wrestling in four different weight classes. He won the 2022 Iowa - USA State Freestyle Championships at 152 pounds and had a strong freshman year at UNI wrestling unattached. Now a redshirt freshman he earned the first place title at the Daktronics Open and knocked off the number 3 wrestler at 157 pounds this season.
