Cheers, my 4k bluray of Hook had one in. I bought the disc from hmv, they either forgot to remove it or it got stuck. You need two magnets or one big one. One magnet on the back disengages the lock, the other on the flat visible red but is used to pull it out. One big magnet in the right place can do both.
Thank you! I was just given John Q on Blu-ray which has never been opened. Tha ks to this video and the help of an industrial magnet (for holding tools) the disc was finally released from its prison. Lol
Thanks for this video, my 81 year old neighbour brought a dvd to me to open, which she had bought in person from a Tesco store and she would never have gained access to the dvd. It is disgusting that the Tesco checkout did not remove the security seal. How many more disappointed people will there be when they try to access their Christmas dvd presents?
Most DVD cases don't have the slot for them. Well, most of mine don't. I bought a heap of DVDs and Blu-rays and have just been unwrapping, opening and watching them at the rate of one or two every several months. Just got stumped by one of these locks AND NONE OF MY FEW DOZENS OF OPEN DVDs HAD ANYTHING LIKE THIS!!!
Thank you so much for the advice, much safer than other tutorials that show using a sharp knife!
Excellent, saved me a lot of time, effort, frustration, and probably a damaged DVD!

If you can buy these, it could easily be a hilarious prank when someone goes to get their favourite dvd 😂

Never seen tags in DVD cases.. anyone ever seen tags on CD's? They used to have stickly little labels that went off but....
Thank you
Thanks. I was putting the magnet in the wrong place. Same scenario though.
My brother is in this same situation but we don't know any magnets.
new to me. ive never seen security tags in dvd cases
do they sound when you get them?
And everytime you pulled it out with your hand instead of using the magnet. 🤣
Thanks for the video. Please blur out or put a sticker over your digital download links in future - someone might try to nick them!
I cracked my case a little bit trying this
Notice how he dare not do it with his blu ray inside 😵
