For the era, it's stunning how accurate this toy was to the costume that appeared on camera. Far closer than the series of figures and playsets that came out after "Aliens". Remember those? The collection that sculpted Bishop to look more like the Terminator? *Snicker* Thing is, I had the opportunity because a local outlet of a chain toy store (wasn't Toys'r'Us or K-B) had stock they couldn't push. I think the obstacle was price. I couldn't justify the cost at that time. Little did I know this item would become a "Holy Grail" for fans.
I dusted and vacuumed for a small antique shop for weeks for this figure.. I was 11. Thank goodness for lay-away. Thank you, Talbots toy land. Thanks for the video.
My parents saw the film in the theatre in 1979. Little while later, we were in a department store (Sears I think) and they had the action figures with one on display. I was 10 years and was struck but the appearence of it and asked my Dad ( RIP Dad ) 'was that what the alien looked like?!' he said yeah and I thought I gotta see this film. Knowing what I know would've bought all the stock they had...but who knew? Good memories and thanks for sharing.
When I got mine in the 70's , there was a button in the back of the head that made it's mouth open and extra mouth mouth pop out. And yes , mine also had that hood.
Nice. I have one with original dome and poster. Loved it. Wanted it so bad as a kid. Got it at age 45. I have a repro box too. Pretty easily found for 50$ on Ebay. Great video . Kenner also put out a Viewmaster and board game that feature the Kenner ALIEN TOY ON THE BOX ART. I have all of em and they are well loved.
Everyone I knew including myself had those. Glow in the dark head was cool. They were very popular w/ kids just not the parents. It was a toy from a rated R movie was the cause of its demise.
H.R. Geiger’s Alien design was great for the film, not so great for kids. Fun fact, early on when the creature design had yet to be finalized I believe one of the producers of the movie said he didn’t want to see some guy in a monster costume. He then suggested they shave an Orangutan.. he thought a shaved ape would be a scary alien creature! Thank goodness, Geiger’s design was discovered. Whew!😅
Wow!!
I've repaired many over the years for collectors but somehow failed to ever find one for myself.. he's still very high on the bucket list, but the market prices these days I regret not getting one a decade back.
Call me stupid but until it was revealed to me what the head is based on I never noticed it. That tells me two things: 1. Inspiration comes in all matters. 2. When the design is so well implented in the concept, doesn´t matter what it maybe, gets hidden and all you get is the creation itself. ...that, by the way, even with all the different Xenomorphs´ hybrids the original(s) would NEVER had been the same with out it.

One of the best all time figures 👽
Just picked one up this spring, & I love it. It brings back great memories of seeing the movie in the theater.
The skull was Cains..😳😳
Begged for this as a kid only to not be able to sleep in my room with it. Wish I still had it😅
Alien Romulus is EPIC!😱👽❤️🔥
The Holy Grail of the Alien collection 🙀
Definitely a beauty. Toy stands the test of time.
I had this. I would have been 5 years old. I used to hang it by it's tail on my door of my bedroom. Probably top 5 best figures ever made.
That’s an epic piece. Congratulations. The sculpt is really ahead of its time and really has shelf presence.
Excellent review and share
Just saw the new movie, imo was my favorite of them all. The twist at the end was well worth it

That's an awesome piece. Thanks for the look. Alien movies are always a good time. I don't care what anybody says.
Nice. I am about to go into the theater to watch Alien romulus. This was a perfect way to help kill the wait time. Thanks

Me and my brother each had one. We played the hell out of them. It was an amazing figure. Yes! the skull does glowe in the dark.
