Lyrics:
I hope you forget me in heaven
I pray it’s just that peaceful
That you stop looking down through the holes in the clouds
And keep on baskin’ in healing
Cause that could be the only trade
For all these things I’m missing
We’ll catch up when the world blows up
In the land of no contrition
Meet me in the great wide open
Where the milk and honey pour free
We’ll all lay down what burdens us now
In the great wide open so free
You’ll pay off your earthly ransom
Learn to extend your hand some
There’ll be plenty of stalls at the shopping mall and never a line to stand in
For the first time you’re gonna feel ageless
Like a novel in its final pages
You’ll have full bars when you’re next to the stars and finally feel what grace is
So rush me to the great white yonder
Black out the sin and sonder
Turn out the light on the little old life and allow me to be reunited
Meet me in the great wide open
Where the milk and honey pour free
We’ll all lay down what we’re going through now
In the great wide open so free

This song is beautiful and amazing and your songwriting is magnificent sir.
I had never heard this word Sonder before. It's a wonderful word. I think I will invent some words myself, for some sort of word that I want there to be that isn't there yet.
A word for the way it feels to be alive, for me, today. Listening to this song made me cry and made me feel better.
Thank you.
Awesome!

Just heard this on Heartland Season 16, episode 3 near the end. Great song 🎵
I'm just getting caught up on the episodes as I was out of town, and I looked it up too. It's a great song.
It's so great that they are promoting a Canadian musician!
❤🎵 Love his voice. This song captured my attention, too. 😊 Peaceful and beautiful...the lyrics and the sound of his voice.
Me too great song 💜
That’s the only reason why I searched it up ❤

Just heard this on Heartland. I had to look it up. Great song.
Me too. Great song!
I did the exact same thing, haha. Wow, those credits go quick don't they?! lol
Same here!
I spend much of 2020-2021 on the road and spent much time listening to "Outlaw Country" on SirriusXM and heard William interviewed and was intrigued enough to buy an album and to start following. Little did I know what a few weeks later I would lose my father. My sister read the lyrics to "Great Wide Open" at his celebration of life, and every time I hear this song I am sad, grateful, and inspired. Thank you for this beautiful song, from a father to a son. How about coming to the Southwest in Concert?
awesome song, what a wonderful way to end an episode on heartland!
...and Amelia still refers to you as, "My mom's friend, William Prince" one day you should sing a song with her, just for fun...she's so proud when she hears you on the radio :)
Somehow, your style, although different, is as unique and endearing as my forever musical hero, Gordon Lightfoot. Kudo's Sir.
Well said

Amazing voice.. new fan here, your music goes right thru to my soul ♥️
Amazing voice! legendary like the great "Gordon Lightfoot". Hope he continues his success in folk/country music in both Canada and the USA. Just amazing for being only 36! Wow! Heard this song on Heartland, Season 16 episode 3 end credits.
That is where I heard this song. An amazing song and love his voice.
I must be fairly close to sharing all his music uploads by now. I'm thinking there are more than several others who are doing the same :)
Beautiful song! Made me teary eyed!

Beautiful
Just heard this on roots FM. Solid track my brother. Earned my sub
Thank you, William. A close friend just lost her father, and I sent this to her. It's a beautiful sentiment to reflect upon when facing the future after the loss of a parent, guide, or mentor.
Good idea! It's SO hard to lose a parent which I've experienced with the loss of my mother 7 years ago. It feels like yesterday and I still really miss her. I thought of her while listening to this song.
Amazing
Solid and beautiful album.
I can hear and feel this song. Wow.
This reminds me of my childhood and future all at once.Beautiful, thank you, for sharing your heart and soul with the world!
Great Song, Thanks to Heartland playing it...
