- The plaintiff dated the defendant after they met online, and she’s suing him because his dog allegedly ate her diamond earring. The defendant believes he warned the plaintiff about his mischievous dog, but the plaintiff still left her jewelry out where the dog could get it.

That's because the pay is too low, and the way the world is set up these days, the power the profession once held is quickly being taken away. Students are disrespectful and the parents are the same. U can't correct a child anymore. They will quickly curse and fight u. There's no joy in being disrespected and underpaid. It's we humans that's our own problems 😥
So true! I taught for 13 years and although I loved my students, I honestly have no idea how I made it that long. Every year, I was in agony with all the nonsense going on, but I kept my students, and their needs, at the forefront of my mind to keep me going.
Finally, just before the pandemic hit, something moved on my heart, to flat out break my contract and leave!
Although I miss the students that God allowed me to cross paths with, I have to say, it was the best decision I’ve ever made and I’m finally living my dream!

She shouldn’t have worn that kind of jewelry to his home and absolutely should have put it away in her pockets or purse, while they slept or whatever. He definitely should have warned her and put the dog away while he was entertaining a guest. If there’s any possibility that the earring is still in the dog, he might want to invest in an MRI or at least use a metal detector to check. She really should have written it off. He seems like a nice guy.

Definitely take the dog to a vet to explore the possibility of earring still being in dog. Invest time in the dog with dog training programs. As Judge Mathis inferred, the dog is probably not really "bad." Let the dog be your companion for a while. Find out what his needs are for his breed and his happiness. You will certainly reap more loyalty from him than a woman on a dating site.

As someone who values people more than material things, I don't know if I'd sever a friendship with a good person by suing over an earring, especially if I decided to leave my valuables unattended while knowing that I'm the houseguest of a dog owner. I'm not saying that the judge's ruling was wrong, but I will say that I PERSONALLY wouldn't have sued over this. But in all fairness, if I were a dog owner, I'd put my dog in the cage or on a leash when guests come. I wouldn't let my dog roam and gain access to my guest's stuff. So, I can kinda see both sides, but the basic commonality in both stances is that I wouldn't be letting a dog (of all things) interfere with my meaningful HUMAN relationship.

Exactly! My boyfriend has a dog that's very busy. When I am over there, I make sure I zip my purse up and put up anything valuable that I know could be in danger. If he did get into something I just would have taken the loss.

I dont know, but I think that if after he used the plastic bag for 3 days and he didnt find it, he shouldve taken the dog to the vet and had its tummy scanned. The metal would have been detected and work it from there. I think because he did not communicate with the lady, he may not have been aware of the value of the diamond bcuz if he knew it was going to be so much, then he wouldve gone to the vet with the dog. Lack of communication caused all of this nonsense. She has lost a good man - or at least a good looking man! LOL. A friendship is ruined. They are not suited anyway in my opinion. Chalk and Cheese!
